I believe it is because the herc is a beast. It is known for frying older persei tops. They do not want to be responsible for other brands frying that they cannot replace/repair.
Discontinued The Persei Vaporizer for herbs and concentrates.

any idea why paypal seems to be missing from the w9 site i tried to order a hammer top another ss kit and an 18350 core insert but its not giving me any option other than direct Credit card payment
Edit: kinda funny actually since i was having a hard time deciding what to order today hammer top or the incomplete persei trying to collect the things i dont already have lol
Edit: just ordered anyway and noticed the webpage shows i placed the order 3 hours from now no clue whats up there

Nice. I feel like 70% of the time I see a helpful good looking picture it's one of yours.
I recently bought a Persei. I can't get it to work. I charged the batts, put them in positive side up, and while screwing on the top, at three full turns, it blinks 3 times and is dead.
Well I am a Bozo, so maybe I'm doing something wrong. I put a ticket in at W9 (#3653998) Monday morning. I know they received it because they mailed me notification of receipt. I tried calling today, and left a message. It is either a faulty unit or perhaps, it is something I'm doing wrong. Please advise if you have an idea I could check. Thank you.

I guess I didn't do it fast enough: I swear I did try the 5-time deal, but it did not work. Now it does. it just goes to show, if there is a way to fuck up, I'll choose it in a New York second.

Ahh.. Was going on memory as it just screwed in similar to the Persei SS kit, but I see that it indeed shaped differently (and more like the interchangeable caps). Thinking now that maybe putting it at the end of the LONG tube would help me fit the protection disc in with two 18350s...

well, i don't mean to sound contrary, but the persei tops failing is a problem with the persei tops; not the herc. anyone familiar with batteries should be able to safely use the herc on a mechanical mod, if not a regulated one, and they can, because of the adapter. since we can already use the adapter to put the herc onto anything we please, why not an option for a proper 510 thread?
i tried using the SS style bottom cap on the long tube for the exact same reason and it actually makes em too low but using it witht he batteries stickign up a bit isnt going to hurt it
ok so yesterday sitting here and working on a long forgotten project that was running slow slow slow slow slow slow slow and i was able to finally figure out what we are going to call this new vaporizer.
It is called Utopia.
Utopia will be our desktop. More information to follow since i was able to find a manufacturer to make us the heaters we need, they said 4 weeks and on top of that our engineer has already made the control box for it. So all is left is our glass blower. To make the custom Tubes and we should be able to piece together a working prototype.
This will be a pre order item only. That means you really need to know if you want this or not, its not your regular desktop vaporizer, more of an art.

@THC SCIENTIFIC oh yeah, how about the universe? I love my Persei for oil, but havent had much success using flowers in my Herc, and I got the impression reading this thread that the Bender goes through a lot of flower material quickly.

We are working on the Universe. Only issue with my engineer is that he has ocd and hates the heat it generates, so we are trying to fix that before we put it out.
is the gold screw in the button of the 8 suppossed to need adjustment alot mine seems ot go off at least once a day if im using it alot

& the button pressure is much improved imho, I don't have to Mash the button like before to get it to fire consistently. A.C. on its way to my collection in the near future I see. Keep innovating Gary, can't wait to see & HAVE a Universe & Flexo E-Nail.
@lonelyhero , which button assembly came with your 8? I have the original pre order top 8 Bonus Kit. The original button assembly gave me trouble as of late, G sent me New replacement assembly and it's working Awesome. I just dialed it in all the way, then backed out 1/4 turn& it's been Great! Using all day and so far no adjustment necessary

From my experience 2x 18350s with the fuse should fit just fine in the long tube. This is exactly how I run the Herc on my 8. Can you post a picture of yours that illustrates the battery height in this setup?

To be fair, it could be seen as a fault of the Herc, since it's up to the user to assemble it properly. If it's possible to assemble in such a way as to kill your mod (incorrectly assembled, but still), then there is surely a lawyer out there who can make it G's fault. Or at least one who would basically decimate G's reserves of time/effort/money arguing that it's his fault, regardless of the outcome. Winning in court means nothing if you file bankruptcy afterward.
Globes/AC/tanks are all considered consumables, as far as the heater, so any user modification that ends in failure should be considerably more difficult to pin on w9/G.
I'd love a 510 bottom, too, I just see why that particular item might not have the 510 option.
