Glad you're liking them. To answer your question, yes I definitely like them 'dome up'......and think I'm an 'anyone'. More over, I'd bet way more of us go dome up (and have for some time). Some with tall domes to limit volume (and put more herb closer to the heat percentage wise), some with very minor domes (I used to use 5/8 screens, very short dome) because they don't foul as fast that way. EASIER TO KEEP THE VAPE CLEAN, not harder. That is since there's much bigger area to foul before cleaning. Dome down the fouling is confined to the small area above the four holes, they plug much faster than 'dome up'.

If restriction in draw is a concern, IMO the very last thing you want to do is directly cover those four holes. Fine mesh screen is 75% restriction, that is only half is opening between wires each way, only 1/4 is actually open. Dome up fixes that.

And IMO they are not at all hard to clean. I use a bent safety pint to hook the mesh low down to pull it out, hold it in hemostats and 'flame' it clean. Heat it with a torch type lighter until it glows. This reduces fouling to fine ash you literally brush or blow away and you can put it back in directly. Less than a minute, start to finish typically.

Your call, but I think most experienced guys will favor dome up (even if modestly) and don't see screens as being hard to clean (IMO the stem itself is a much bigger hassle). If you don't want to decrease the volume, I suggest trying 5/8 inch screens 'dome up'?

Turbo gong is my favorite "mouthpiece" so far. I have the 18mm but im sure it functions the same as 14. Really helps with the draw resistance, and just works great all around IMO.


I got the EQ which works awesome... But you guys almost make me want a nano too. Couldnt justify it though.

Do you guys think the regular phves nonshorty non turbo is good enough? Its the only one in stock.

Good enough? Of course!

I have 2 of the older 14mm regular GonGs from PV, not the high efficient ones, just the regular chamber like the stems with mouthpieces. There is a noticeable amount of more draw resistance than the high efficient stems, but even they are good enough LOL Its not hard to pull the stem up a tiny bit to get a little more air if/when needed/wanted. But with the high efficient groves/cuts im sure that one will work great for you.

It's my preference in non GonG PVHESs. I take care of the 'shorty' part with domed screen and don't find the restriction of 'non turbo' to be a problem at all. It's very easy to strip the vapor as fast as it forms (maximum density) which is really all you can do with a stem (you can't really make more vapor in the same time.....). This is based on Solo, mind, since by the time I got my first Air I'd given the turbo stem away 'to a good home' as they say in the puppy business.

I can't seem to get what I've gotten used to with my nano, easy, breezy beautiful hits, haha. In surprised by the draw resistance, I didn't realize there would be so much. I had an imag+ which had the same or less resistance... I tend to breath fast if I'm not getting enough air..idk maybe its an asthma thing. Hoping the pvhes and TNT stem help with this.

An extra battery will be needed!

don't fully seal your lips around the mouth piece when drawing. You can draw in a bit of outside air to help with the draw resistance.

I do have a pvhes gong sitting around which I don't use with my air anymore as I can easily overpower the heater and end up with whispy baby hits.

I know it's near-blasphemy to say this but my Air has even replaced my Enano as my go-to home vape. The quick heat up time+the portability+the ability to externally charge batteries has made it the main vape I reach for. I look forward to many vaping adventures this summer with my Air!

i agree even tho i dont own one yet. the only thing this thing cant do apparently is large loads for sessioning with many people. other than that there is no reason why this couldnt be someones vape for both home and on the go.

i have been using my solo that way and it has been everything i have needed.

Yeah ive packed away my nano to get to know the air.

But for those that haven't used the nano... Its a beast! I guess I have high standards now that ive used it. I hope the grasshopper has better airflow. I still like the air, its just that I thought it was going to be better... I think my lungs have a bad reaction to the resistance.

@snamuh IMO any resistance problems are related to technique. I too have the enano and love it, the air is more of a sipper and takes a different approach. I find the plastic tip stems for whatever reason give an advantage vs the other ones, feel less resistance even though i'd assume they are the same. Try to sip it

I'm a relatively new nano user and get a little annoyed with the heat up time. That said, if l at home I'll go busy myself for 10 minutes and let it heat up. I know some leave their unit s on all day but I'm not comfortable doing that as we have a dog in the house. When at home the nano is my go to.

If the nano is off and I'm in a rush I actually will reach for my mflb for a quick hit over the air or solo.

The air I keep for use in the car and for hikes. At the moment I think it's between the nano and air as my favorite vape I currently own.

I'm a new Nano user and absolutely love it. The Air is near and dear to my heart, I just use it for different occasions than I use the Nano. The Nano and Solo are my home vaporizers.

The Air is the on the trail and on the go here lately sidekick. It's very discreet and it doesn't shout out I'm using cannabis or whatever herb you are using. I medicate on the go sometimes and the Air helps me do that. Also the Air is well made and you can tell that when you hold it. Quality and performance is where it's at with the Air.

We just bought a motor home I think I may decide to buy more batteries for the Air. I may also decide to bite the bullet on that Arizer charger for the Air too, I know it's too expensive. I hope I can get a 20% off sale here soon.

The term used for this type of agreement between states is Reciprocity. But the hitch is that the states have to be in agreement on honoring each other's law. Nevada may say it will honor them, but if the origin state doesn't have a similar agreement then no go. As I understand it many states have reciprocity clauses, but none have any agreement between themselves to honor each other's recommendations yet.
I'd like to think I'm wrong, but we are heading that way at least.

I have two Solos so I have not felt the overwhelming need to buy the Air.
But I did recommend one to an 80 year old friend who has cancer and is fighting for her life. I pray she will be able to keep her spirits up and not waste away as my mother and other friends have done. Like many people high THC and smoking does not agree with her, but The Air with some 19% CBD/1% THC Sour Tsunami puts a smile on her face.

While I love my PVHES stems and Gongs, if $ is an issue, you could get an ed's Wong (for away from home) and water and only buy 1 "extra".

Disclaimer.....I have never used or owned an Ed's stem, I just know that I have never heard a complaint about them.

For whatever reason my Air hasn't been hitting good lately. It's like it's leaking air around the upper vented part.

Anyone else had issues with this?

No , and there are vents towards the top to vent air above the heating chamber and i believe to help with airflow as well. Never had a problem with it not hitting well but this can also be dependent on the material used and the way you are packing your stems. Try a fine grind in your stem with a very loose pack , just tap your material ever so lightly with your finger in the stem and give that a try.

is the screen clogged up? i have a friend who constantly complains that his solo doesnt "hit like it used to". then i go over there and replace the gunked up screen and its like brand new again.

I own an Ed's Blackwood stem: beautiful piece. I use it when breakage might be a problem. I feel it does not work as well as other stems because of the "heat sink effect" of the metal bowl. I find that at higher temperatures the heater runs and runs(red light blinks constantly). It never does stop heating which is sure to result in fewer sessions. (Note: I own Solos, but I think the same thing would apply to the Air.)

You don't need a 14mm GonG with Air and that bubbler, the plastic cap on the stem is designed to mate with the taper. Many prefer glass, but the stock stem works.

I must have misinterpreted when you first posted about the cheaper of the two page 77) you said "In fact you need to remember to lay the whole thing on it's side (or hold it upside down) when you take it off or suction will pull water out".
What did you mean by that?

For the larger WT I had read some reviews on DHgate that were complaining about a lack of water. I didn't know (or had forgotten) that you had first hand experience with it. Considering your awesome track record here on FB I'll take your word.

I think I'll start with the first (cheaper) of the two as it's so darn cheap and I've never experienced water filtration on a vape.

I believe most people have been fitting them to their plastic tipped Air mouthpieces (with and without the mouthpiece removed) using a little piece of silicone tubing to create a friction fit. I think @OF has a picture back in the thread
