No longer dogless
Maybe y'all already knew this, but it messed with me disproportionately- the below (muskox) are not ox at all but GIANT GOATS. I am more bothered by this, for some reason, than by the discovery that whales are a form of deer or the fact that a chicken is a small, stupid dinosaur.

Wanted to share a picture of my border collie with you all ,

Rocky was my border collie. He was the smartest dog ever, and he was somewhat psychic, too.
He loved to play with the cats & kittens (we lived on a farm back then, in a land far away), and would play "king of the hill" with the tom cat on the rock in the front yard. He would take his turn being "dethroned", too. He also played frisbee with himself when he was bored.

When I got my divorce, I cried because I had to give up Rocky. I found him a home with someone in South Dakota, I think it was... larger farm, lots more room & animals for him to enjoy romping with! That was long enough ago I'm sure he's traveled the rainbow bridge by now, but even so, he was the best dog.

You are a lucky man, Mrmrmrmr, sharing your life with a BC. :)

Your post really ttouched me. Gave me a few chills as well.
Your so right ,getting her was like getting my first dog x1000.its unbelievable how intuitive/smart she is. She picks up on everything so fast and even I she doesn't I show her the correct way and she learns just as fast.
She has changed my life...in the most positive way. There is no doubt in my mind these are the smartest dogs alive.my collie also likes to play with my cat. She runs up to her and starts playfully pawing and then almost straddling her. Very funny an. Entertaining to watch !
I haven't taught her fetch/frisbee yet because I want her to learn to herd. It's harder for them to do so if they are taught to fetch first.
And she lives on a farm as well !!i think that's the best place for them. Lots of room to play and grow :)
Thank you for sharing your story ,I don't think I could ever let her go. We have such a strong connection which was made even stronger when I named her after my mom who was killed when I was 18months old.
She's so sweet ,always licking and nuzzling animals and people alike. Sorry for rambling !
