he mentioned it was kraftpaper. wikipedia says it's "a porous paper with high elasticity and high tear resistance, designed for packaging products with high demands for strength and durability."
my guess is, it can be waxed afterwards. but i could be wrong. the paper appears to be sold already waxed too. i'll try to check out in a craft shop, how rigid it is in this form. otherwise i think waxing after the folding shouldn't be too hard to accomplish using shredded candles and an iron. just an example http://www.auntannie.com/CraftRecipes/WaxingPaper/
i'd go for the thickest kraftpaper, that is still flexible enoug to be folded in form.

Edit: or we could just ask Dan what type exactly does he use. :)

Awesome.

I'll post the pattern and the how to video tonight.

Thanks!

OK, here we go...

Let's see if this makes sense to you guys.

14.5 mm square paper - I used card stock (very thick printer paper).

Good evening all. Picked up a Vapman about a week ago and I'm still trying to get the hang of it. It seems as though most of the air is coming through the mouthpiece holes. When I block them, the draw gets fairly restricted. I got it used. Could the capillary tubes be blocked? Thanks in advance!

If you block all 3 air holes on the middle section, do you still get air going through when you draw?

You can also look through the air tubes -- you should be able to see straight through. Or poke a pin through and it should come out the other side -- into the bowl. Be gentle when you do this.

Check out these two videos for some vapman basics:

So much love in this thread! @KidFated it's so awesome that someone has reached out to you like that. This community blows me away all the time.

@M0J0 that box is awesome. I especially like the no gluing. I will definitely make one when you get time to post a template (thanks in advance).

Edit: man this thread moves fast. @M0J0 got the pattern up while I was typing my reply!

@vapman you mentioned the stations being temporarily sold out, how about the people who are on the reservation list? I got the email a week or so but paid just yesterday. Just wondering if my reserved station is still reserved?

All the people on the list are still on the list and have a station reserved for them!:)

Paying yesterday might delay it a bit, but it's my understanding when we got the email with instructions for paying and did so our end is done. They just got shipped (without individual notices), and hopefully yours and mine are both on the way.

All the stations paid before Tuesday are shipped, the ones beeing paid later will be shipped today.
Sorry about not informing everybody individually, I just wanted to spend as much time in the workshop instead on the computer. Anybody needing a tracking number can ask for it, no problem. The tracking number from swiss post doesn`t indicate the exact day of delivery, it only shows the whereabout of the parcel, like leaving and arriving at the border and customs. The stations are at least in your countries of
destinations!

@Mojo You are definitely faster than a fart. As soon someone only mentions an idea, you already materialized it and we can watch in on a video. You are a sorcerer.

I wish everybody a nice day!

Great, thanks for the update. I agree with you, your time is much better spent getting products into waiting hands. As you say, very little past 'your package is on it's way' can be drawn from it, and you've basically told us that. The part we really love to obsess over (it's closing in on the front porch) isn't available in this case. IMO we'll know to get excited when guys start reporting deliveries.

As to Mojo's relative speed I'm not sure. I've worked with guys able to let one out that moves faster than you can walk away.......or even run. And some lingered amazingly long, in clear defiance of established principles. I'm understand he's not only faster, but smells better on average? No first hand experience there, but I see no reason to doubt.

Despite the speed, I find the folded paper box idea very cool. I like the printed text/graphics idea as well, hard to 'get out of the head'. Is this Forum great or what?

Thanks for the reply. It's good to hear that people's stations are still there, and units should be in our hands this week or next. With all thoughts and details you and your team put into the station, I have no doubt this will work flawlessly from the start.

Eh...I will do without the tracking just so it'll be a surprise when it comes haha. I could do without the anxiety of checking the numbers every other minute too.

Well I couldnt resist the allure any longer and purchased a vapman with heating station without ever trying the vapman. I feel like they're giving them away at $310 shipped for the basic model with station, jet lighter, case and concentrate sieves. The heating station really does seem necessary for someone like myself who tends to goes overboard with the torch towards the end of a session.

To those who have received Vapmans from overseas. How discreet is the packaging? Does it say used for phytoinhalation and have FDA notices all over it like Inhalater's packages?

Is there any chance of having it held for pickup at a post office given the shipping method?

Thanks

@z9 if you cannot stop the individual package delivery, you could go online and have all your mail held for a few days as if you were on vacation. I believe there is a post office pickup option.

As long as it is not out for delivery today, I think you're covered.

Has anyone had problems with the metal arms that lock the mouthpiece/stem section in place? I haven't had my vapman long but the arms have bent back a bit meaning the stem wobbles around a bit and the metal filter part and the bowl don't always form a full seal. Means some vapour escapes and it's harder to get a good draw

I haven't seen those Springs bend back before. I don't think anyone else has reported that either.

If you're handy, remove the screws that hold them in place, straighten them, and screw them back in place.

You have to be very gentle when you screw them back in. Do not tighten them too hard. Tighten the screws just enough to hold.

It's a simple fix, but not everyone is comfortable doing this.

Afterwards, be gentle when you put in the mouthpiece so they don't bend again.

Try tightening the screws a little bit near the bowl and/or the middle section. Hope that could solve the issue

Actually I mentioned the same thing a few posts back... :p It's part of an every couple of weeks ritual for me. Cleanin the middle section and straighten the springs a bit so the middle section locks tight!
What I do is unscrew them after checking at what point they start to bend upwards. Then with my fingers I try to bend downwards at that point and lay the spring flat at its supposed position to make sure it's flat or bent slightly downwards so when I tighten the screws again it will flatten... Very easy and very quick to do. It might have to do with the forces someone applies when removing the middle section...

Love at first sight! It works perfectly, i began at 3-4 at first trie and got a smoothe and tasty draw with less visible clouds, second trie I tried it with 4 and got a thick cloud after some heating periods which highly surprised me :freak: and it's so tiny...welcome to the vapman family
