Glad y'all are getting a kick out of the tubing Rick. I'm enjoying my zap as much as ever.

mnmlh,
Have to agree on the breaking-in advice. I am finding the standard power is perfectly adequate for my needs. After experimenting some more with load sizes and packing density and even a coozie for a while I am getting a couple of solid pulls and a couple of lesser (but still effective) ones from each stemload.

Loving the aroma oil, but had to transfer mine into a regular dropper bottle as the one it came in is not so great (that oil smells nice but tastes terrible).

Rick have you given thought to selling other flavors/varieties of aroma oil?
I guess it all depends on how many of your customers actually use it for that too?

Rick, thanks for the leather but I won't need it. Took off the leather and smashed the cardboard down completely and glued everything back on with Elmers non-toxic glue.

The leather stretched a bit so I had to cut some excess off. Looks great now!

Thanks again! :)

Hi FC,

Lurker for a long time; first time posting here.

First, I'd like to say that (for the most part) this site is one of the best resources a vaporist could ask for. The sheer amount of information compiled here is incredibly impressive, and most if not all of you have in one post or another been very helpful individuals.

Second, I'd like to thank you, Rick, for creating the Aromazap and Myrtlezap. I'm a long time smoker who recently kicked cigarettes, and now I've decided to give vaping a try in an attempt to rid myself of a lot of health risk by giving up smoke period. Your product is not only functionally exactly what I was looking for, but its aesthetics are far beyond anything I'd expected for a vape. My uncle is a near-lifelong professional musician who brought me up with a healthy respect for beautiful wood (most of his guitars are naked wood, often unfinished,) and the MZ has a look about it that I just love.

My SO and I ordered an MZ yesterday evening, and I figured I'd finally sign up on FC in the hopes that I can turn around and help contribute to the forum that guided me through my purchasing decision. We can't wait for the MZ! The pictures I've been able to find of various units all blow me away; no matter wether you consider it the "kind" or the "swag," all of your units look great to me.

Thanks again to all of you at FC and to you, Rick. Can't wait until the MZ arrives at our doorstep :)

Great review, Vaporhand. Nice Sweet Island too :p Really can't wait for my MZ! Might be going to look for a small 14mm today, as the head shop I frequent carries a decent stock of EHLE and Roor stuff. I'm also gonna swing by Home Depot and see if I can craft a way to connect my current non-GonG bong to the MZ (no idea how I could make a seal or something of an appropriate diameter -- 12mm I think, maybe 9mm.) Any suggestions?

Check out what I did with my LB tube. It would surely fit inside a grommet bong.

Hey really looking forward to getting my new Myrtlezap soon. Been smoking for too long. Is the Myrtlezap very efficient? There seems to be some debat as to whether vapes conserve or waste weed (I guess the jury is still out). Maybe some vapes are just less efficient then others. How much herb do you suggest using (is .05 grams enough)? How ground up should the herb be also? Is breaking it up by hand good enough or should I get a grinder?

Thanks all!!

Hey I think the MZ is verry efficient. Use a grinder to break up your bud pretty fine so you expose a lot of surface for the hot air to pass through.

Save your vaped herb for future use... you can then qwiso the vaped herb and MZ stems and get a pure thc extract.

Others will soon reply and help you out in further detail...

The jury is definitely not still out. Vaporization is far more efficient than combustion. :ko:

Vape wasting weed? The jury is definitely not out on that issue. A vape does not waste weed, and that's not an opinion, but a fact. However, I'm always open for debate, so if you can help guide me to a place that states that the jury is out in this issue, I'd love to see it.

As everyone else is saying. MZ and vaping in general is considerably more efficient than burning. However, you may find you are partaking more often due to the convenience and lack of physical drawbacks. :D

What you need to do now is read this entire thread (every post, even the obnoxious argumentative ones) to get all you need to know. When I got my zap I was pretty prepared that way. Techniques vary and you may find that several work for you like I did.

Whatever you do, leave that bad boy plugged in 24x7 and it will just get better. If you are using the diffuser flower, take it out at least 15 minutes prior to vaping for best results. I find that sticking a koozie on mine when I take the flower off cuts that wait to 5 minutes.

Agreed, vaping isn't just slightly more efficient. It has probably cut my usage by 1/3 to 1/2.

If the bud is very good, .05 can get me blazed.

As far as some vapes being more efficient than others, in my experience it's more that some vapes can load larger bowls, and it's oh so nice to pack a fatty, but these vapes can be very efficient if you load lighter bowls. The vapor won't always be as thick, depending on the vape, but you get solid effects off of very small amounts.

Colonel,

I dont think it took me more then a week for mine to show up. Depending on JimmyJames (Ricks) workload, I dont think ive seen a wait time more than a couple of weeks at the latest. (Correct me if Im wrong)

As as far as the efficiency part goes. You may vape more, you may vape less... BUT you can ALWAYS save your duff for later usage. Some use it for cooking, I have a buddy who smokes his. (Ugh) But its like getting a 2for1 out of your weed regardless of how much you vape in contrast to what you smoked.

Personally, my consumption has gone WAY down since I started vaping. And I think that is the consensus you will find here :)

Enjoy!

I ordered my zap last thursday and I think its gonna be here either today or tomorrow. A week is the max I bet from order time to your hand, but I don't make em so I can't say for sure.

Yeah it's weird that some people would report that they use more weed. Maybe they're just chasing that garbage high. Or maybe they're not vaping properly. That could easily explain the few people that report his. Anyway I'm hoping I'm one of the people that it will conserve weed for. My main concern is health reasons though. Years of smoking have take their toll. After reading up on vaping though I'm pretty psyched. It seems like a better experience in every aspect (high quality, health).

I ordered last week and was told I'd be receiving it by the end of the week. I'll report back regarding my experience. Customer service has been top notch!

Combustion free since '09
I think part of the problem is also that people use more when they first get a new device, like playing with a new toy. When switching from smoke they are seeking carbon monoxide and the higher range crap from smoke.

This style of vape uses very little herb compared to most any other form of use so....if one is seeking to conserve they can really do so with this style of vape. If they want to go crazy though, they can plow through more stems :D
