Only issue I had was I went to stir once and the adjust-a-bowl felt right through the GonG into the water. Seems I can't push the screen down to where the long end of the e-pick is without it falling out of the GonG. Can't tell if it's just a badly sized screen or if the GonGs aren't intended to have there screen placed as low as the dry stem? Can anyone advise?

In addition to stretching your basket screens, putting an extreme q dome screen in the male end of your gong will provide a little insurance against this and keep your glass cleaner.

Oh this is a good insurance policy! I think I'll make a dome screen when I get home and set it on the bottom side of the GonG. That way if it happens again then it at least won't fall in the water.

Honestly I felt so defeated when it fell in the water that I just put it down and grabbed my Crafty then head downstairs. It had been too long of a day to fiddle with things.

I thought I was only going to use the dry stems when I first received my Nano.

6 months later and 95% of the time I'm running vapor though water.

I bet many of you Nano newbies wind up going the same route eventually. ;)
Water is fun, but after a while I started to feel there might be something missing (flavor for sure, maybe terpenoid effects?)... I've been using my JoDa steamroller (dry) constantly since it came in and loving it :ko: but it is Friday, so maybe the bong'll come out tonight too!

That can depend on what else you've got to vape with. I have a vape designed for use with water filtration (EVO), so my e-nano gong adapter has been collecting dust for a long time. Even if this were my only vape, I'd still be using it dry quite a bit. There's something to be said for direct, close to the bowl hits.

Agreed - maybe it's because my first vaporizer was the vriptech heat gun rig, my log vapes have always filled more of a 'one hitter dry stem' role. I use them when I want to sip at flavor instead of massive hits. They all get me about the same place, but the trip there can be wildly different.

The only way I can do that is if I push the long arm all the way down until the lip rests against the curve on the E-pic. The screen should only be down as far as the notch on the long arm {should be even with the bottom of the rounded short arm). That notch should rest on the lip of the GonG or dry stem. If you're only going up to the notch and it's still falling through, it sounds like there's an issue with the GonG itself.

I've been really enjoying using a wood stem, with a basket screen! with the ENano...
It is just a more intimate experience with it, vs the Gong>JHook I usually use.
I haven't used the ENano with water in a long time. If I want to use water, I (also) have an EVO... and my HT has been clean and dry for months now.

I actually prefer the dry stem after one day of testing. Basically, I hold it horizontally then bring the nano up to the stem, then inhale with everything parallel to the ground. No herb falls onto the heater and I can control what type of hit I get more easily.

Or you can try mashing a chunk in there and it won't fall down even if used vertically.

I ordered last Thursday night and had my kit by yesterday before noon. It is amazing! Seemed like a long wait, but not too bad. It was worth the wait. What type of wood and accessories did you get?

Hey man!! I got the Cherry with an 18mm GonG for my bubbsie. Also ordered five etxra screens. I would've gotten the Walnut but the friend who turned me from Magic Flight (Which by the way, is an incredible vape, people just love to be haters) has the Walnut. I Ordered it Thursday at Noon Eastern, I hope it's process by the end of today so it can get shipped out this weekend. If not I think I have to wait until Monday to ship :/.

Hey now,
Welcome to FC and NANO Nation @ajsitkowski
Which Nano did you get?
abV out

Hey man, thanks for the welcome! Bought the Cherry. So So So excited for it to arrive, I am beside myself.

I had a heat gun rig too. Fattest vapor rips I have ever seen. The nano is nice though because it uses less and isn't such overkill. It was fun with the heat gun in youth though.

I had to see what all the hype was with water so I picked up a cheap straight tube bong. For me the high was less intense then dry and short lived. Took the water out of my tube and now I have a cheap 16" steamroller. It really packs a punch! I noticed the tube cools off the vapor perfectly without water. No throat irritation or cough drops for me anymore.

The Nano GonGs are definitely it's weak spot. Epic needs to up it's game and get better GonGs, or PlanetVape should get into the game. I've ordered one from Joda but it hasn't arrived yet. I had problems with my first epic gong and had to RMA it. I'm using the fixed glass screen stem and gong now, so as to avoid any screen issues.

GonGs seem to be hit or miss from Epic, at least from reviews here. IME every one of the 5 or 6 I have is different (pretty sure all from different orders at this point), but all perform well with no screen issues as described by others. Would think the differences and screens probably all coming off the same pressing rig may be part of the problem here. Just another reason I always suggest people stretch their screens a little if having issues.

Joda (vaped&confused) does some really beautiful stuff, too! I have a GonG I got from him about a year ago when he was first starting out and a carbed GonG that I got more recently. They are both nice, but I still prefer the Epic GonGs. I'm not real crazy about the air restriction with the carbed one. It does function well and allows plenty of air through, but not nearly as much as wide open when you just pull the GonG. Doubt all will feel the same on this, but I had my nano GonG routine down for more than a year before I got my first Joda GonG and even longer by the time I got the carbed one. The other one is beautiful, but a little longer. So, you end up grabbing the whole GonG and lifting the nano with it. Probably OK, but not as simple as what I usually do with an Epic GonG.

My technique is the same as others have described recently. Keep the silicone on and roll it down about halfway over itself. When you are ready to clear, let your pinky or ring finger (or both) drop down and catch the lip on the rolled silicone, and lift it still connected to the nano when you pull it to clear. No need to pull it off more than out of the bubb. When done inhaling, put both together back on the bubb and pull just the nano if not taking another hit. This should eliminate any blowback, too. Pretty sure my lengthy post with screen tips and a picture of the silicone is still on the best of thread.

When I use the carbed GonG it feels weird to hold the carb, and once I get a few hits in me I have to consciously remember to NOT pull the GonG. So, kind of a PIA now that I am conditioned to my regular routine.

Screens will have to be tweaked or replaced with either (at least this is the case with my older Jodas). In use and especially removal and reinsertion for cleaning they will get tapered in and not hold to the inside of the glass as well. Really can't say for my carbed Joda. It gets very little use. Usually only when a noob is sharing.

Also of note, if you happen to have an older nano (V1, I guess - attached cord, shiny bottom), be sure to let Joda know when you order from him. When I got my first carbed GonG it was a tad too big and the nano heating element slipped right through and knocked the screen and load right down into the bubbler. He was quick to get a new one that was properly sized right out to me, but what a friggin mess!

If I'm going dry stem? Joda all the way!! The stem I got from him with the first GonG is just stellar. It looks really nice (especially considering where he was in his rapid progress as an excellent glass blower) but function is amazing! Still not sure exactly what is is with this one, but stock Epic stems just don't come close. It is somehow magical for me! One of the odd things is that it hits a bit cooler than a stock stem, even though it is shorter. Aerodynamics? Hole size? Psychological? Hell if I know! But, is the only way I like to go dry. Know I would be crying if I ever broke it.

Ice can be a nice change of pace. OR, put just a little warm water in the bubb. Even if not enough to cover the perc and make it fire properly, just a little splashing around in there will moisturize your hits and sooth your throat without taking too much flavor at all.

EDIT: Meant to mention.... you may find the nano does a bit better with water with more of a bubbler type of piece. I honestly haven't tried mine with a straight tube, but the few times I used my EQ with one it was NOTHING like using it with a bubbler. IMO old style straight tubes like that are only good for throwing some schwag in and lighting up - and that only for nostalgia! Even at that.... icky poo poo.

Lately my sinus allergies are bothering me. And when I use a water tool, I start gagging. Damn allergies!

That's funny. When my sinuses are acting up - pretty much always this time of year - I have a lot of trouble going dry. Try the little bit of warm water trick above. This is when I use that technique the most. It seems to make it easier for me to not overdo it with too big of hits, too (like I sometimes do with regular water levels). My 2-3 hit loads sometimes become 3-5 during allergy season. But, all good. Just have to hit it a couple more times and makes me feel like my consumption is even less!

LoL yeah I got it from the canabible too.... I think it is called the SVT... but yes intense. But that still does not take over the love I have for the e-nano.... God gosh I love this thing!!

So im a little over two weeks with the nano now.Best damn purchase I have made in a long time.It absolutely gets me where I want to be and does it with little effort.Only problem forseen is having to get another one as a backup. Was really hung up on the "Its only maple"thing in my head because it does not look as good as the "fancier"wood. As of now I don't care what it looks like because in ten minutes, thanks to it,I wont remember.

My next E-nano is going to have one of the exotic woods that @Snappo has. The way I look at it, the standard wood was for my test drive. Now that I'm in love and already know I need another - for backup or multiple users or another room or to dance around with like maracas - I'll grab a buckeye burl blank or something for my special deluxe because I'm worth it E-nano.

Not that there's any complaints about my Cherry one, it's beautiful and is getting a more defined contrast between the grain with use and some beeswax. It's just those exotic woods make me all warm and happy, so why not pay a little more since I know I can't go wrong with the E-nano itself? My husband can just consider it a very, very late 5-year anniversary gift, heheh.

7.5 on the dial, tiny bit of herb with a tiny bit of GSC pull n snap through the gong and 16" beaker... next level extraction right here. Wow. I got tired of dabs so I got back into flowers and then vaping again. Combining the two with the efficiency of convection rather than conduction is making for some of the best effect in years.

I think I might actually agree with this sentiment. I got my D020-D on Thursday and have used it a few times since. I feel like I'm extracting a lot better with the dry stem. I get big hits on the D020-D and the vapor is very cool, but I think I like the air flow better from the dry stem. I'll give the D020-D some more time though and maybe I'll get a technique down or it will grow on me, but for now I'm definitely using the dry stem more.
