@2clicker what kind of coil you got in that derringer? I wonder if the small chamber aids in taste with concentrates like it does e-juice?

im using my go to DBCs in it. and yes the small inside capacity def helps with flavor just like with ejuice.

ive been using derringers and rogue rdas exclusively. both are great.

What is this called and where do I find it???

I picked it up at my LHS. On the box it only says "dab globe attachment". A quick online search failed to come up with an online vendor but I'll keep looking. I'll have to ask the owner of the head shop where he sourced them.

@2clicker I'd be interested in know more about that coil, whenever I google search diamondback coil all I get are a bunch of bikes :hmm:

you can go to the link that matthend posted. you can also browse through this thread. this thread is where i first posted about it and i think i have some instructions on them. not sure how in depth they are, but its something! lol they are easy to build really.

i need to make a video. what has slowed me down on that is my search for a better and more permanent wick solution. until then the RXW is the best option IMO.

@2clicker thanks! I used the link @matthend provided and read all about it. Quite a clever setup if I do say so. Have you ever tried it without the sheath of RXW? I might have to try my hand at one on my Doge V2. I think a video would also be nice, for educational purposes. I've seen similar builds ( stovetop coils ) so I got the gist of how to do it, but it might help others. I'm also saving up to get either the DNA40 or the SX mini M, to try out this whole temp control thing. I'll report back here once I do.

Ordered a SX Mini M Class with temp control today, I also ordered some 28 and 30g Nickel wire. Also last week I ordered the Vengeance RDA from fasttech. I hope to be able to build a 4 vertical coil build on it using my FC2000 ceramic rod (4 rods, 4 coils, as close together as possible in the center of the RDA). Im currently using a Veritas RDA with a dual vertical coil build (clapton wire) with the white porous ceramic rod which is larger in diameter but not as porous as the FC2000. Im hoping the temp control will keep the coil from getting red hot and if I can build a 4 vertical rod setup on the vengeance then that should be a sweet setup.

yes i have tried to use a stovetop and other all wire coils and never had much luck. tastes sorta funny and the oil just drips onto the deck. the RXW allows the errl to soak into the wick and keeps it there until it vapes.

yes please do report back on your temp limiting mod experience! i think that stuff is going to take this thread to another level.

nice! that YiHi chip is gonna change all this shit i think. and yes you should def be able to keep your coils from glowing. i LOVE the idea of building say a .5 ohm coil and keep it from going over a set temp. quick ramp up time and zero over heating. perfect!

FCs own ratchett may be 3D printing a custom enclosure for me. i will be sticking a YiHi SX350j in it. really excited to try it. my only concern is my soldering skills. im sure the connections will be good, they just may not look good. haha

Got my SXmini M Class Yesterday, I dont have the Vengeance RDA yet, but I do have a Magma V2 which is nearly identical but the posts are closer together on the Magma V2 vs the Vengeance.

I could only fit 2 coils on it with the 3mm white ceramic rods. The Rods touch the deck and the coils are 8 spaced turns of 30g pure nickel wire. The M class reads it at 0.110ohms.

So im sure there is still much tweaking and playing with coils and stuff left to do before I give it my final verdict but so far its a very nice unit. My last unit was a Joyetech Evic Supreme 30w. I liked it and its nice LCD screen, but it had a problem where it wouldnt always fire the coil so I had to press the button many times.

On temp control the unit works as it should, Joules is confusing, People say to treat it like watts on other forums, I havent played with this much yet, I started at 20 but it didnt heat up enough.. Im at 50 joules right now and 230degree C.

Problem with temp control on here is that it makes it hard to "prime" the rods as it stops firing when it detects a dry coil. Also, I have to keep the air flow open to help keep the coil cool while I hit it. Means I have to hit it hard, still much more experimenting to find the best setup, so many variables to control now!

I prime about .3g of shatter in regular watt mode then switch to joules mode add my hit to the top of the rods (bb sized) and hit it. I usually get 2-3 hits from that and the taste is amazing! I also feel more comfortable knowing my coil is never getting much above 230degrees and no where near red hot like my last unit which I could get the whole ceramic rod red hot with.

When the Vengeance shows up i'm going to build a dual horizontal coil to expose more of the coil to the shatter.

Nice mod:tup:! It's the ying to my yang(I have the exact opposite color scheme) I've been playing with the sx mini m class for a few weeks, and loving it for everything! This one is solid:rockon:

@Phife... it stops firing when it detects a dry coil? OH NO!

i was under the impression that the new YiHi chip could dry fire all day long an never go over the selected temp.

this is the first i am hearing about this and its a bit disappointing.

Not disappointing at all!, You don't want the coil to fire unless it has oil on it! I'm still experimenting, and have yet to pick up ceramic wick(been using SS mesh, oxidized) with some success, but haven't been fiddling with portable dabs lately as I just picked up an e nail, and already have a Cera, and Herc:shrug:

i suppose you are right but if i wanna dry fire clean my RXW then its useful. i suppose i can always switch it out of temp mode for that.

i need to order my chip and get ratchett my enclosure specs.

I was just watching a video of an ultrasonic fogger and it made me think of this thread. Interesting idea/way of atomizing a liquid without heat. I wonder if it would work with oil/ejuices/esolid

I just found this stuff, made my second batch of juice using ej I mixed it about 2-1 and added some ice cream flavor. But I have a delta 2 using it as a dripper on a sigelei 30w mini. I found if I cycle my firing button I can pull massive vape. And 2-3 hits I'm good for 4-5 times a day. I'm going to save a lot of money. Thanks FC. I will be getting that m class someday

i have one and like it alot. i use a derringer on it and get nice big dabs from it. there were some faulty units early in production of which caused them to actually catch fire while in standby mode, but apparently that was fixed a while ago. so you will see a lot of users talking shit about them.

so for the money its a nice piece. you should be able to get one for $30 in the US. then you wont have to wait for slowtech. i am done buying from that place.

ill keep using mine until i get that YiHi chip. after that its all about temp limiting.

I just received the Kangxin vf mini from slowtech the other day and temp limiting is the bees knees. You can mash on the button and never get a burnt tasting hit ... it's great.

Edit: the vf mini dry fires with temp limiting on.

Man I wish there was a way to turn the dry coil warning off on the IPv4. It keeps giving me the warning with the readyxwick dbc. I have some fc2000 and white ceramic rods coming so I'll be playing around with those soon.

I use fc2000 works great ... I was actually pretty curious wether or not the dry fire protection would affect the dbc.

Does anyone know of any porous ceramic wick that's thinner than fc2000? I've been rebuilding seego glacier coils for a while and while fc2000 works well, it's too thick to build a dual coil in the small ceramic cups.

I just received my IPv4 and looking at the instruction is says to download the SXi software and set it on on the computer (windows system), then download the IPv4 "upgrate" to upgrade the IPv4. The temp control can then be "carried" after the upgrade progress. Their spelling and words mostly.

I am not sure I want to download anything from that website, so I was wondering if you or anyone was able to get TC working without downloading the IPv4 "upgrate"? lmao..

Edit: I can get these alpha centauri's to fire just fine in "power mode" but when switching to "joules mode" for temp control the display says "short" when fired?
