Also, we just got a batch of stem caddies (all different sizes!). These were made for us, by hand, by a fellow FC'er, and will each be posted on the website soon. :)

We will be offering a 10% discount on all stems that are ordered with a stem caddy. Once they're on the site, we'll give you guys a coupon code to use. :)

If anyone has an order in right now and wants to add a stem caddy, let me know!

I believe the econodog runs on 17v instead of the standard 12 v wall wart. Are they selling 17v wall warts in the site now? The two on the site are just different style 12v warts, I think.

gotcha. i was just wondering why there were 2 dif 12v warts.

We don't have Econo-Dog wall warts available on the site yet so none of the ones on there fit your Dog or would be useful for it. The connector question I'm not quite sure what you mean assume though by the 1/4" comment you're talking about the 1/4" mono plugs? Those are for tattoo style VVPS cords. What else are you looking at or wondering about?

yes i meant the mono plugs. im not really familiar with those. never knew that was a type of power supply plug of any kind. im an audio guy and it had me scratching my head.

You pretty much nailed it, the Econo-Dogs are 17v.. not compatible with the 12v power supplies. We don't have them on the site since they're only useful for the Econos and we don't want to confuse people.

i understand now. a wall wart does power the 17v units, but you just dont have them on the site so not to confuse. i was just wondering because of the dif options on the site.

ok ill stop with the newb questions and read the damn thread already. haha.

Heya Dogs the stem caddies are up on the site now, with prices ranging from $12.99 to $19.99 with the exception of the one unique one with the void and cool grain for $22.99

Also, to go with the Caddies we've added a coupon code that gets you 10% off stems when purchased with a caddy. The code is, wait for it... CADDY. You can use the code for as many stems as you like but again only on orders with a caddy. :peace:

Ah, yeah there are different 12v power supplies listed because we occasionally change the stock power supply and it's nice for people to be able to get an exactly replacement for the one their Dog shipped with since they put out slightly different voltages (12.25v, 12.5v, etc).

Totally understand the confusion on the mono plugs since they usually aren't used as a power cable connector.. tattoo power supply cables seem to be one of the exceptions though.

those stem holders are dope AF. Wish they had been around a few months ago!

Murphy's Law huh?

so i went ahead and took a half day today in preparation of my dogs arrival. and its just about time for the post man to swing by.

dabs while i wait i suppose...

That, sir, is an excellent plan!

so after my mail finally showed up. i quickly unboxed the dog because something had come up and i didnt have much time. everything was packaged very well. first impressions were great as expected. the quality of the build is fantastic and has that handmade feel to it. i LOVE that. it was smaller than i expected of which i am really excited about. its smaller than my solo. i was expecting it to be a little larger. included was a nylon standard stem, a NonG stem, and a shorty GonG stem. also included was the wall wart, a 5ft extension, a can of underbutter, and a small plastic container (for preground flowers?).

so as quick as i get it plugged in i get another call and have to leave... uhhhhggggg

upon return i quickly loaded the NonG stem w/ about .1g of blue dream. at this point the dog is well warmed up. stuck the NonG in some glass and took a pull. the vapor was tasty and plentiful. then i took some dry hits through the NonG and that was really nice also. i was expecting it to be a tad hot or irritating due to its shorter length, but i was surprised it wasnt. this dog has a new home as my beside piece. the quality is great and i cant wait to show it off to some other heads. hats off to UD and UDette.

about the underbutter... whats the best way to apply it? just like a terry cloth or something? also what are the clear silicone adapters for?

this is my first log vape and im in love. its beautiful. thanks to everyone who made this happen! quite the community we have here. now time for another go!

Awesome man, super glad you're enjoying it so far!

- the small plastic container is just a goodie, for whatever you want to use it for.

- we like to apply the UB with a piece of t-shirt material while the Dog is warm. Anything that isn't linty or snaggy will work though.

- not sure what the clear silicone bits are for, I don't remember packing any in your order, can you show us a pic?

my bad. im talking about the 5 pack of silicone adapters on the site. just curious what those are for. but after taking a closer look i see that they are for attching the SS stems to things.

Can anyone provide me with a link for a descent vvps kit for my underdog. I am amongst the electronically challenged and am still confused on what all I need? Currently all I have is my dog and the standard 12 v provided. Is there a complete kit I can purchase with everything I need? Or do I have to purchase the vvps and another attatchment from UD? Really wanna kick this dogs heat up but super lost :\

Hi there!

Short answer is you'd need to get a cord (which you can get from us) and you'd need to get the VVPS unit itself from a third party.

Here's a link to our VVPS information page which should hopefully walk you through the answers you're looking for: http://www.underdogvapes.com/vvps-links

Please let us know if there's anything else we can help with!

Thanks for such a quick response! So to simplify things if I were to purchase the tattoo style vvps off of ebay that youve recommend on your website than what would be the name of the piece I need from you guys to make it work? Sorry

Modnote: back to back posts merged

Never mind...tattoo vvps cable should be the only thing I need. I think I'm on the right path now! Ty

Ooops.. the link on the website was to eBay Australia.. Underdogette will fix it but in the meantime here's a page of tattoo VVPS from the USA site: mini tattoo power supplies @ eBay

You just need any one of those, preferably one of the ones with only a single plug hole on the front (ie most of them listed in that search) and one of our Tattoo VVPS Cords.

If for some reason (accident, etc) you got one of the tattoo VVPS with 2 plug holes on the front you would also need a bypass plug (it's an option when getting the Tattoo VVPS Cord) to go in the 2nd plug.

::edited to add::

Haha.. oops you beat me to it.. looks like you've got it all sorted out. :)

i have a lighting dimmer box i built to adjust the output of my old Hakko soldering iron vapes. before the temp adjustable models came out.

anyway... i should be able to plug the dog into that and turn it down a bit yeah...?

If you mean 'dimming' before the wall-wart on the 120v side then it may or may not mess up the power supply.. quite a few of them don't like that. If you mean 'dimming' on the 12v side after the wall-wart then yes that's the usual method. You can also use the extension (if you're not already) to cause a small temp drop.

Nice! That thing looks pretty bright, do you think you'll need to dim it? Looking forward to pics in the dark.

ok so i wont try it then. id plug the dimmer in and then plug the wart into the box with the dimmer. i have an outlet mounted in it so the dimmer will "dim" anything plugged into it. worked perfect for Hakko irons, but it sounds like its a bad idea.

i assume the tattoo vv device wont work with an econo dog...?

Correct the tattoo VVPS won't work with the Econo-Dogs since the voltage isn't in the same range. The best way to dim the Econo-Dogs is with the extension cord(s) method.

You could try the dimmer box and see if it works, worse case scenario it burns out the power supply. I've come across a few that could deal with it though so it's not impossible.

thanks for the quick replies. im thinking its best to not test it. ill try the extension method.

btw i like the fact that this vape extracts as fast as it does. makes for quick no nonsense sessions. ive got other vapes for low temp vaping. the dog is all about put up or shut up.

i loaded a bit last night and just ripped it all in one pull. just kept pulling until the vapor significantly reduced... it was a lung buster and the effects almost felt like a dab!
