I'm not a life long soccer fan (not from "the Continent"), but have come really to appreciate it in recent years.

Anyone following the Champions League?

Today I did a nice long sesh (I'm normally a short session person) before Barça / Bayern and it made the match very enjoyable to watch. Not that it wouldn't have been so otherwise. But the game's nuances were definitely enhanced : )

I was predicting Bayern would win this semi but perhaps not! Unless they pull another win like the one over Porto (unlikely).

The announcers were doing some serious raving about the quality of the match. I didn't get that, especially after watching Real Madrid / Juventus yesterday and thinking that that was a really high quality game.

Anyway I'm going for a Barça Juventus final.

Suarez wasn't mentioned stu?

I am a Liverpool fan but I also wear a lot of Chelsea gear. Uefa is my favorite to follow but Minnesota will have an MLS team so I'm getting more into MLS, I really think the skill level has skyrocketed in the league and it's getting more exciting to watch.

He didn't score today.....didn't even bite anyone. :disgust:

Edit: I've become a Chelsea supporter myself and was happy to see them seal the deal in the BPL. Too bad they didn't cover the spread. :(

My favorite team is still Corinthians(BR), but I'll force myself to root for our hometown Galaxy as I deem necessary (nothing else on TV). I'm actually looking forward to seeing what happens with LAFC in the near future.

Didn't like Mou at Real Madrid but I like him at Chelsea, whom I pulled for this season in large part because I'm a Diego Costa fan (Atlético really took it to RM last year).

Having trouble watching MLS. Looks a little like AYSO in comparison to European football. But who knows maybe if the Union win a game or two I'll change my mind. Maybe stronger bud would make it seem better. I'll have to experiment!

You caught a hell of a match lol I'm a life long soccer fan. I'm an Olympiakos fan but I must say that I now support Barca as well since I went last October. Amazing city. I'm an EU citizen (so long as Greece remains a member!) and I even hope to live there (Barcelona) one day if only for half a year or so. I would love to live in Europe just to watch all the amazing CL matchups. Makes it easy with all the cheap ryanair and easyjet flights between major cities.

Enoyed the first half. Fell asleep during the second, coming to in and out; it didn't make much sense. Catching that half in re-run now.
I hope Stu you had other wagers in place that put you ahead in the end.

Has anyone caught a CL match in person? Was it a team you support or you caught a game? I was lucky enough to watch Olympiakos against Benfica in late 2013 I believe. I don't know about you guys but The CL anthem basically gives me Goosebumps when I hear it on TV. In person, however, watching your fav team, is another level. We also have very vocal supporters in Greece. That year I saw Olympiakos vs Benfica and later vs PAOK im the league and Greece vs Romania for WCQ. That was a very enjoyable trip!

Nah, I lost that one today. Barça looked fine until they decided to just cruise through the second half. :disgust: I did get a little lucky with Swansea yesterday, so I was playing with house money anyway.

I'm glad Barça advanced, though. I'm looking forward to a Messi x Ronaldo final if Real Madrid can take care of business tomorrow.

 It's gonna be Epic if the UEFA final is also El Clasico ... Anywho the UD is heated and ready for today's game and since Barca's playing in the final All Is Good and we're happy enough here already.

Real Juventus was a tense watch! Enjoyed it much better on the replay. 'Cause I was pulling for Juventus. Honestly couldn't see them winning it but they did. Real is now suspect, no? Maybe adios Cristiano? But I guess we should wait and see. Will Barça end up being suspect, too? Juve held off what I thought was, all things considered, a pretty potent RM attack. Juve's got something going and I won't sit easy until it's 2-0 Barça (on a Suarez brace, probably : )
