Don't waste time trying to call. Make a copy of your receipt, describe problem, keep the top piece and put the base in the box, mail it to Oakland. 2 days there, 1 day turnaround, 2 days back, and Bob's your fucking uncle.

I have no idea where 'and Bob's your uncle' comes from, British? Not even sure what it means.
South Park add-on, mine. Pinch under the oil pad just now, several good clouds.

Yes British I believe, I had always heard it as Bob's your uncle, Robert is your mothers brother. I took this to mean approximately the same thing as the expression "Six of one, half dozen of another. " Meaning two things are identical and yet described or arrived at in different ways.

Aperantly I was a little off, has to do more with meaning "everything is good", the way they use it over there.
"We slapped the alternator into the broken down car and Bob's your uncle, it was good as new."

Edit: Ok I just did a little research. ( Yes, I have time on my hands. ) a article I read said the expression is used in many ways. It said if you ask ten Brits on he street what the expression means, you are likely to get ten different answers. So my original understanding of the expressions meaning, may not be that far off either.

Either way we usually see the the abbreviated version of the expression over here. "Bob's your uncle." When you hear the entire expression Bob's your uncle and Robert is your mothers brother, it kind of instantly makes more sense. At least it does to me.

To those complaining about trying to talk to a live person at SnB, I've posted this before, and I apoligise if you already tried this without luck.

When you are on the phone and in the menu where they want you to dial a number to be connected to a department, ( I think tech support was dial 2?) the last option in the menu is dial Zero to talk to a operator. I was able to talk to someone that had access to my account and could look things up and answer questions for me by doing this.

I was frustrated at waiting for a call back too, but since I have done this ( either 2 or three times now. ) I have always got a live, cheerful, helpful person.

Dial Zero folks.

This is how I clean mine. It works really well.

Are you guys serious? Don't want to pick a fight with anybody but it can be really dangerous to heat up explosives in such a small room like a microwave! Better not give such hints to the public... Or could you live with the responsibility?

Edit: I'm not saying it's going to explode directly in your face. You could have done this hundreds of times before, be lucky you weren't hurt but don't assume it's safe. The average MJ user hasn't enough skills to choose the right solvent, the right solvent compartment and the right heating source to prevent such terrible accidents. 200ml of solvent can cause an explosion heavy enough to make your wife wonder why Feddie Krueger is crying in the kitchen from pain like a little girl... (I hope this horrible image in the readers head will prevent him from following your examples)

warming it up a tad just cuts through the Sticky stuff faster. Is all.

Small update on my inoperative Crafty. Got a call from S&B regarding the message i left yesterday. She was very friendly and they emailed me prepaid postage explaining that a tech would call or they would send me a new unit once they looked at it. Excellent customer service.

Just forget alcohol for 2 minutes, even without heat or energy input at all in a compartment like a microwave at room temp and theoretically it could create an explosive gas mixture. I know it dissolves resin faster when hot. It explodes faster when hot, too. If you don't believe me, read the manual of your microwave. I'll bet it's written there you shouldn't handle explosives in it. Right next where it's written to not dry cats or clothes in microwaves...

If you really want to be sure use a warm water bath with ventilation (I guess this is overprotective for most of us), or at least don't heat up explosives in closed compartments.
Sry for derailing

Wootze I was just going to ask you about this. Did you receive any notification email? phone call? whatsoever.

This is so strange to me that a company is practically impossible to contact, yet at the same time people like yourself have not a bad thing to say about the quality/speed of their repairs/returns department.

They're on point, and at the same time you can never contact them. Sounds like your typical college weed dealer.

Do they at any point contact you?

Because it's sounding like some stealthy rogue operation, yet they'll ultimately deliver the goods.

Whoa, it's a miracle I just made contact with Storz and Bickel. Call the number, immediately press 0#.

I'm being issued a brand new unit. Priority mail. Today. Wootze. You're a no B.S. type of person. This is a no B.S. repairs dept apparently. I feel like my package got picked up by "the wolf man" in Pulp Fiction.

Google Storz & Bickel. Nothing to worry about. They email tracking. Signature required.

To the ones that have these lollipop problems - in the state where the connection freezes - can you still write settings? I cannot reproduce the problem - perhaps my firmware is just too new. Perhaps just the notifications are broken - then i could implement polling as a workaround ..
I wish i could better describ how it is acting. Not sure what you mean by write settings.
If i open the app and don't touch anything it show's the temp set point and also reads the current temp.
If the phone screen times out, after reopening the lock screen the apps current temp reading is frozen where it was when the screen timed out. If i close the app and reopen, it will not connect until i go into settings and clear data.
I have been able to change the LED brightness and sometimes make 1 temp adjust before it freezes. It will also freeze in settings when i switch to F. When i say freeze, i may be using the wrong word. It still closes so it's not completely locked up.
Also, i think there are 2 versions of Lolipop but could be wrong. 5.0 and 5.01
I am on 5.0
Thanks for all your effort to get us a working app without sending our units back.

turbovap,
I'm new to vaping but after reading reviews, I bought a Crafty. I'm kind of confused and have a bunch of probably idiotic questions that I'd be very grateful if anyone could help me with. Helpful answers are worth three (3) Good Karma points each.

1 - When I inhale after several seconds the light changes from green to red. I stop inhaling, and it turns back to green. It feels like it turns to red quicker later in the session. What does this mean? Do I have to stop inhaling when it goes red?

2 - I used to (until yesterday) roll a mix of indica and tobacco (maybe 80-20) into a joint and lighting it. I like the head rush from the tobacco and the feeling that smoking that joint does of knocking me on my ass for a bit. I'm trying to switch to vaping for health and discretion reasons. I just filled a bowl of Crafty and vaped it. It's not at all the same feeling. This is kind of a vague question, but any tips on how to use the Crafty to approximate as close as possible how I used to smoke?

3 - Is there a trick to vaping? Do you try to hold the vapor in your lungs for a while like you might with combustion? DO you fill your lungs as much as possible with each inhalation?

4 - How long is a full 'bowl' supposed to last? (How many inhalations?) How do I know when it's done? Am I supposed to switch to the booster setting at some point?

5 - Does this work for concentrates? I have some wax that came with my delivery order. I've heard there are liquids (oils?) too? I can't for the life of me figure out how those would go in the chamber without wrecking everything, but I've asked 4 stupid questions already, so I figured I'd go for the set.

6 - If I'm sitting in a large, empty room, minding my own business and vaping off and on during the day, will there be a smell of whatever it is that I happen to be vaping?

7 - As a thought experiment, if someone were using this to vape weed, would they want to change the temperature settings on the app?

Thank you so much for any help!

 Heck yeah! Those waterpipe adapters have been so popular, I'm very tempted to purchase a Crafty simply so I can join in the fun

Coincidentally, almost 2:1 ya'll seem to prefer the 14mm over the 18mm which I found quite interesting. Would have expected the opposite

Just finished reading the thread, what a journey its been with my Crafty in hand. Got is last week straight from S&B at 14 hours so far. Should be getting the 14mm in the mail in the morning. I was tempted to get both myself but went for the smaller one considering my glass collection I have plenty of adapter to make a 18mm fit 14mm. If you don't have an adapter, its just and old broken downstem lol. So i would imagine a lot of people just have adapters and went with the smaller one cause you can use it in everything.

Welcome

Indeed all of us here have our stash of adapters for all sorts of setups (always buy extras! You'll never know when you're going to break glass adapters!).

One trick @YetAnotherUsername reported over on my official FC thread is that you can use my 14mm Crafty adapter with an 18mm male fitting. Here's his 14mm adapter with an 18mm male to male adapter

My silicone adapters are very pliable. You'll find they work with other vapes as well. I know these adapters also work with both the Davinci Ascent and the Arizer Solo vaporizers.

Enjoy!

Ok here goes :D

1. The light changing colour just means the temp has dropped due to inhaling, you don't have to stop as it it only drops temp a little.

2&3. The effect is different, and will take some changeover time but you will find you get higher after a short while, what i do to help with breathing/inhaling is fill half my lungs with vapour then fill with fresh air then breath out half then inhale (fresh air) again before exhaling fully.

4. A full bowl will vary depending on how you use it but as a rule when no vapour is visible its done.

5. Yes! There was talk/advise over the last few pages:tup:

6.there is a smell but it is minimal.

7. I used to change temps quite a bit but have settled on 175°c and 210° boost.

And cleaning i ISO wash my cu every week or two and blow the bowl out after each use.

Happy vaping and let us know how you get on

Just got the mail, 14mm adapter was inside :) and it smells like vinegar. Do i have to wait for the smell to go away to use or is that just to clean it?

14mm one can also be flipped around and wedged into a bowl to make a SonGonG. Did this with a bowl that was free with a DHGate purchase as a last resort while waiting for my 18mm SonG to arrive. It actually works pretty well.

Used my crafty for two bowls last night; the battery was completely depleted by the end of the second bowl. I charged it overnight, and woke up to find it at only 11% full! (I use the vapelog app on my mac) I unplugged, and replugged to find it only at 51% 4 hours later, Now, 12 hours later, it's finally recharged. Also, I'm positive that that the Crafty doesn't perform as well on the second session (meaning 50% full) It only performs well when fully charged. I think I need to send it in, sigh....

I'm new to this thread and admit I haven't read the whole thing. But there seems to be some issues with the Crafty (even though everyone seems to love it). Are there app issues with iPhone 6? Is there a pattern of charging issues? Or is Vaporcussion's experience unique? I want to add this one to my collection but...

Well my Samsung Galaxy decided it was time to upgrade to the new version of Android and wham . . . no connection to my Crafty can be made. Sigh . . . sending it back in. This time I called for a prepaid return postage label and they issued it immediately. Just hit 0# to get a live person. Off to the post office . . .

Thank you so much! You get a grand total of 50 Bonus Good Karma points. These can be redeemed by getting random bits of good luck during your day.

I'll check the past few pages for answers to my question #5. Appreciated.

Hey man is that a glycerin cooler? Looks wicked, how well do they work?
yea, its the glycerin tamer from my LSV. I think it's overkill to use with the crafty because the crafty vapour is never uncomfortable. but it does cool the air very well and the girls seem to like it. lol

@dimildarko, I do a 6min session on full blast and then recharge for next time.
