I think he knows how different the 3 vapes (Solo, MFLB, and PAX) are from first hand experience. No need for outside opinions. The important part, I think, is 'if you didn't like Solo, you'll probably not like Air (even more)'?

I get that lost of guys make the mistake about o-rings, but it is a mistake. O-rings are different. I think we should try to spread accurate information if/when we can. The idea is to make ourselves informed consumers. There are no o-rings, but rather 3 ribs in the seal. O-rings are defined (by 'dash numbers' in SAE) by material, diameter (either ID or OD) and cord (minor diameter of the ring). They are separate pieces, like what we add to Solo, not like the seals in Air. There's also a flat seal on the top, but that too is not an o-ring.

Aside from blowing your warranty and maybe damaging the plastic screw holes or loosing the tiny screws that go in them. I also had a burr on my heat shield that prevented putting it back on until I'd dressed that down (no problem if you have the right file set handy). Without that you'd be SOL if yours also had the burr.

OTOH, IMO there's nothing at all to be gained in exchange. You can't modify or replace anything (even if you had the parts, you need considerable soldering skills to work on the oven). Until Arizer sells us new sealss and other parts and modifies the warranty conditions I seriously recommend against doing this......which is why I posted the photo originally (to show nothing to gain), I still feel the same about that. I planned to void my warranty for the sake of science as it were, but cannot encourage others to do so. Nothing to gain and you can pretty easily screw it up.

I meant the grip gaskets not o ring.
I Liked the Solo it was just the taste from the gasket that held the mouthpiece I think.
Tried the Air for a few minutes and it didn't seem have that taste. Maybe they isolated or used different materials that didn't out gas.
I took the gasket out of the Solo and boiled it and everything and it still had the taste when it was heated..
The AA design is great, just don't want any electronic or plastic fumes with my medicine..

The air mouth piece with the black plastic tip will fit in any 14mm female?

Any other recommendations for a wp to pair with the air?

I would suggest the D020 bubbler. It works really wonderful with the Air.

I'm sorry for not being clear enough. If the original seal in Solo (not actually a gasket) was an issue for you (unlike most others) I'd be concerned about that with Air. The same material is used (it seems), there's even more of it and it's in a hotter location.

Rare as your reaction to Solo might be, it's very real to you. Few, if any, of us share that sensitivity and therefore our personal experience with Air is likely not useful to you.

If the basic material in this application is a problem for you in Solo, likely using more of it in a hotter location in Air will be as well. If you had this problem with Air, I might suggest it would not be as pronounced in Solo but not the other way around.

Few, if any, of us share this problem. Either with Solo or Air. But based on your experience with Solo I would not expect that for you.

I love the FC-187... For use with the Air or not..

I still consider myself a newbie here although I read the posts everyday and have for quite a while. The only post I made was about a drop at Massdrop. (It is over). Although the AA is now on drop.
I purchased an Arizer Air from the prior drop.

I switched to vaping after a lung wedge removal. It was negative for CA and I'm fine now. I fell in love with vaping.

I purchased 2 Samsung 18650 batteries. I'm loving the AA and having the extra batteries along with a Nitecore battery charger. I broke my stem with the mouthpiece but don't miss it.

However, lately my herb is not burning evenly. The bottom layer ( if one can use that term) is much darker than the rest of the ABV. It is a new occurrence.

I've been reading the latest posts and am wondering if a screen would help that. Also my oven cover will not stay on. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. I love FC forum, the members are great. It has helped me considerably.

When I had my Solo it was always like this… Especially with high temps which I prefer. So I just used a slightly bigger screen than the SS bowl so it sits in there with a little curve and it won't let the load near the scorching bottom…

I've been using a small screen cupped inside the bottom of the bowl (when holding the stem with the bowl side up) and packing the ground bud lightly in. If you grind, it's a decided improvement over packing directly over the holes of the stock stem/bowl. And I'm thinking it is vaping more evenly. I wasn't grinding at first so maybe that has something to do with it. And a fuller bowl / longer session might also add to the likelihood of portions of material cooking a little more than others.

I lost the oven cap straight off and haven't missed it. Is it useful? I'm storing my AA securely when not in use so I'm not too worried about missing that cap.

I've also lost one stem cap and the little itty bitty tiny tool. Then I found the tool around a week later. Funny how that happens!

How is the vapor quality of this device? Is it warm or scratchy at all?

I've a question about my Arizer Air unit. Since my last session, when I turn on my unit, it's just doing "red-yellow-red-yellow-...", then it's flashing blue.

I don't know why is he doing that ? It's the first time (I get it for months) , and I just don't know why.

Looks ok to me. The on light followed by the battery status flash (yellow/red would indicate that you're getting low) followed by the blinking blue light which is asking you to select a temp. No?

I think so, too.

When blue light is flashing it's kinda standby waiting for your input of desired temp...
Charge your battery completely and try again - a full battery shows a green light at start, followed by the blue flashing light. Then select your vape temp. Everything should be fine, I think.

I find if you add 2 screens it help's a lot, I'm also VERY sensitive to vapor's probably from asthma. I think for me a lot of the harsh was from tiny particles, So i removed the plastic screen in the mp and replaced with metal. The chamber screen i immediately installed. I also stopped grinding with it and get even smoother results, That's why i am thinking particles is the main cause for harshness with this one, But your also probably not gonna get cloud's like this with a portable unless you got a S&B portable as well, And i hear plenty of the same complaint with those.

Today was the day I puffed on the Air though water for the first time.

Back in the combustion days I very rarely used bongs, however I did have a crappy little acrylic one tucked away. Never thought much of it since I had the vape, but someone mentioned about removing the plastic mouthpiece off the stem and using that directly into a small bowl.

I now 100% feel I need a bubbler or any form of glass in my life.

I've learnt from this forum that I could be about to embark on the slippery slope of GAS?

My next move will be to get a second vape (a solo? a backup air?), just in case something were to happen to this one. It should take me a while to make that move, so glass and water will have to wait.

I definitely wouldn't go out and buy a cheap plastic bong now then because you may not be able to hold it off after one taste of the watery side.

I was also really debating the idea of a different vape just incase. I was thinking either Solo (because I can get them for 50% cheaper than a Air, or a new Pax, just because its even more portable and all the technology inside.

Just tried this myself today. Had a black leaf bong I used to use on my SSV and took off the plastic mouthpiece . I did not expect it to work soo well, normally I have to stop inhaling after a few seconds but being able to draw for over ten seconds without coughing is awesome. Sorry for the lack of grammar ; Just that this paired with my Volcano is kicking my ass on a daily basis.

Welcome to the wonderful world of bubbles

I find using my air upside down helps keep the oven clean, keeps herb away from oven so more even ABV and the water helps with particles others have mentioned that can cause irritation, through water is something i think everyone should try at least once.

Now a little off topic, but if your looking for a back up vape if your anywhere near the north east i would be more than happy to meet up somewhere to share my toys if i have any your interested in (kind of a try before you buy thing)
I would also recommend looking at a Vapman while it hasn't cured my VAS it has put a cork in it...for now at least Well i did buy a spare Vapman but as its the same thing it doesn't count right? Now it wont suite everyone but i find I'm using it more than any of my other vapes.

My 18mm gong for the Air has been in my city since Sunday. Made it from PV, passed customs, and here in 3 days. Was supposed to be delivered Monday... But it just keeps bouncing around different zip codes in this city... All within 20 miles of my house. 3 days to get here from Canada, then 5 days in my city... so far. Every time i pay extra for quicker shipping the USPS does something to screw it up.

Well if your ever up this way good nights out here also.

And i didn't really need a spare But got a great deal, like really great. I got it from everyonedoesit and my first order (Vapman, SSV + accessories) got a little messed up long story short it took 3 days not 1 to get to me, not a big deal and shipping was free anyways and the way it happened was understandable, now as a result of this i was given almost £50 in store vouchers not to mention a few free gifts also, so the Vapman was £99 and they price matched to drop it by £25 the same as my first one so £74 then with my £50 off it came to £24 for a Vapman classic now at this price i couldn't help myself and its so small i will probably misplace it from time to time

So i have to take my hat off to everyonedoesit (UK) every company can make a mistake, but for me it says a lot about them with how it is put right and have to say they went above and beyond what i would expect.

Edit: just to swing back on topic a little, in the UK for bubblers black leaf IME are a good cheap option found in lots of LHS, i own a few and they all perform well. DHgate is good but sometimes i just cant wait need something to make the wait easier.

The GonG came today

Ok first impressions.

Lets start with the only slight negative i can find since that will be quicker. It wobbles in the unit a little once its hot. Its not major, doesnt feel like its going to fall out or anything. Oh, and it doesnt fit in the storacell case that my 14mm gong and extra batts are in. And thats it for negatives.

Now for the awesomeness.

This may end my search for the perfect mouthpiece.

1. Great size. It sticks out of the unit a hair under 2". Nearly exactly in between the size of the 60mm and 70mm stems with plastic mouthpieces.

2. It warms up quickly. Compared to the vortex, and even seems to warm up a bit quicker than the stock stem with MP... That could be in my head, but it seemed to get the herbs heat soaked super quick.

3. It doesnt get too hot at the very end, even on red setting after 2 sessions back to back. The thicker glass does great at not burning your lips LOL

4. The turbo feature REALLY limits draw resistance. As long as i dont over pack it there is really no resistance. I let the heater light tell me how hard i can hit, i hit it until the light starts flashing then back off just a bit.

5. It goes from being a regular mouthpiece to dropping right into my FC-187 bubbler and fits GREAT!

Its pretty sweet in the bubbler. Even though im not a huge fan of water conditioning vapor, this works nicely. I just start it off on red setting and let it heat soak for a minute or 2, then i can fog it up nicely and get great hits. When i use it as a mouthpiece i can take almost constant "sips" off it but when in the bubbler i find its better to wait 30-60 seconds between hits to really get hits worth it.


I still need to try out the vortex stubby, but im thinking it will be thicker glass so take longer to heat up/heat soak, and get warmer at the mouth tip end... But i could be wrong as i have yet to try it, still i doubt it will top this one, having the dual purpose already gives it an edge.

i know this might of been asked a million times but does anyone know how i can take out the plastic tipped mouthpiece? ive heated it up and everything but it doesnt twist at all and im worried im going to break it apart lol..
