Digital Scales... Prices and Quality... Recommendations?

the american weigh scales on amazon were some of the cheapest I have seen. I have a .1 gram scale that only cost me 8 bucks. A .01 gram scale will cost like 5 bucks more

amazon ftw

although my friend from china laughs at my face how my 10 dollar scale is "ridiculous overpriced"
apparently his family wholesales a few popular brands from china and they are sold at alittle over a quarter a piece.

I want to purchase a good quality scale for weighing small amounts of herb. I want an accurate scale that is easy to use and calibrate and can weigh to the nearest hundredth (.01). A lot of scales only weigh to the nearest tenth which wouldn't work if you wanted to way out say.... .15 of herb. Any information on good scales and where to buy would me much appreciated.

I paid $25 for a .1g scale in a San Diego headshop, but you can thank Max for this link to a $30 .01g scale Jennings JS-50XV

Even comes with a 50g calibration weight & vibration killing mat :o

Only thing I dont know is shipping, hope they don't gouge you there..

Thanks for the link Haze. The Jennings looks like a good posibility ....

you could build a small balance scale as accurately as needed, as long as you don't need to also weigh larger amounts with it.

Thanks for the link.... Looks like an 8th grade science project LOL.... Probably to complexed and beyond my capabilities.....

The other nice thing about the scale I got was that it came with a pad to set it on (so it doesn't jiggle) and a calibration weight. I think I paid under $15 for it at the time and it was shipped and arrived within a week.

No love for American Weight? Just a couple quarters over $10 shipped! I own one of their .1 scales and it's been very reliable in my experience. That scale I linked is the same one that my collective of choice uses, and it hasn't been off yet ;)

I got my 0.01g scale from a local tobacconist for $60.
A bit pricey, but its still running strong after a few years.

I also got a 0.001g scale from amazon for like $25, but its pretty fiddly, so I don't use it too often.

Update: I made a mistake, and should have called Old Will Knott to ask ahead of time instead of ordering the wrong thing.

I should have gone for the dollar-cheaper Triton T3 400 as the model I ordered measures to tenths and didn't meet my needs. I'm making this post in case anyone who saw my prior post, wants something that is portable and measures to hundredths- don't let the lower model number of the T3 400 fool you, as it did me. (It refers only to the scale's total capacity.)

Literally the second I opened the package, I realized my mistake. I called up Old Will, and they instantly knew the terrible thing I had done..... Their website was out of stock on what I needed - but earlier that day a shipment had come in, and they tracked down a fresh shipment of the T3 400 inside of five minutes and put an order through for me and an RMA on my mistake.

Two or three days later, my T3 400 arrived three hours after I'd taken the 660 into the Post Office to send back. This kind of example-setting customer service just ensured the next scale I need will be coming from Old Will Knott.

I know many people on here like to keep account of how much they use so weigh their loads.

Specially with portable vapes like the AA loads can get very small (0.05).

I have these: http://www.proscale.net/portfolio-type/proscale-lc50g

Whilst they work fine, they are a bit cheapy so was debating a upgrade.

Just wondering what scales people use?

Happy vaping :)

Looking at the specs, you'd have to pay a lot more to get any better accurac

I have a similar cheapy, AWS 100 but no plans to upgrade.
IMO, your scale and my AWS are accurate to 0.01 gms so that's plenty good.

I did just upgrade form scale with 0.1 gm accuracy and my loads were way to light \to be measured by it----hence the upgrade

So I took a risk and ordered this cheap Fast Weigh TS-100 scale. I'm not sure if it sucks or if its behavior is normal. I wanted this one because it's supposed to weigh in .01 g increments but it doesn't even seem to recognize anything under .03 g. If I put the tray on the scale, zero it out and start dropping little pieces onto it, it stays at zero and then hops up to .03 g......

So I tried my AWS scale, 0.01 gm accuracy. Didn't register until 0.03 grams also.

Then I put a random object on scale... 7.99 gm. Added a small piece of paper... 8.00 grams.
This method seems to work around the sketchy 0.00 to 0.03 gram issue???

I am looking to upgrade my cheapie eBay 0.01g scale (not much good for the sub 0.2g readings even though it always checks ok with the calibration weights)
Any newer recommendations for being able to weigh a single small bud or a dab I was looking at this,
Or do I need 0.001g or 0.005g resolution for such small items?

That is really an expensive option. 0.01 gm with big 200 gm max. $144 US is a lot
You’d be much better off with a 0.001 gm with low gram max.
Those can be had for $29 and it would be great for small weights.
