I received my Persei and Hercules 74x in the mail a few days ago. Since then I have had trouble getting my Hercules unit to function properly since the start. It doesn't seem to heat up or produce any vapor even though I've been very careful to assemble it properly many times and test the stock batteries when they are fully charged. I have been fairly successful with the KISS cart that came with it but can't even get the Hercules to get warm. I have gone through the Hercules 74x manual that is provided on the w9 tech site multiple times and gone up and down in the trouble shooting section and still nothing. I'm starting to think my unit is defective unless there is something I'm missing.

I opened a ticket on the w9 website but maybe someone on this website has some advice or a suggestion that I'm unaware of.

Unfortunately, the stock Persei batteries do not have enough gusto to power the Hercules cartridges. You'll need to upgrade to the AW brand 18350s to get the 74x working properly.

THE KISS FREAK

Rock & Roll All Night & Party Every Day!
@Hypnotize , I gotta STRONGLY Agree with @Severmore , that the batteries that come in the Persei kit are ok for 7.4 Kiss, the proper ohm E/O Carts, But DEFINITELY a no go for HERCULES, it's a BEAST. Unless you purchased separately the AW Branded Batteries that have a small oval silver AW TAG ,then you don't have good enough batteries to power Hercules. This is common with new Persei owners, sometimes don't realize that they need to have the correct batts. Which is stated in the description. Not saying this is you, just trying to help you out with your problem. That's what we're here for! If you did purchase the AW Branded Batteries, then don't worry, the people at W9/ UP TECH are AWESOME, their customer service is TOP NOTCH & the community here can also be EXTREMELY Helpful & in my opinion EXTREMELY VALUABLE!! I myself have an original SR-71, and only used a few times so I can't help you much with the proper operation of the Hercules, but can with just about EVERY other product they sell. Between W9 & the community here, you'll be ok. I know how bad it can suck to get a new TOY & or MEDICAL device & not have the results you were looking for.

THE KISS FREAK

Rock & Roll All Night & Party Every Day!
@THC SCIENTIFIC thanks for the extras ( battery cases ) Haven't tried the new 8 button assembly yet. Tried my new Kiss Globe, Love the new one piece glass dome/mouthpiece! Had the2 piece glass/ delrin, was great, but this better for me, one piece to clean. Tried the new Dual Coil Nichrome, NICE. Instantly vaporized with no residual or splatter:D. More testing to be done.:) Can't wait to get the Dual Ti and Donut into my rotation to see how they perform.

Gary, on the Kiss Mini, how much oil should be loaded? Fill the white cup sorta like E/O cart or try getting just small dabs onto wick like normal Kiss? Thanks in advance:)

@VJJJV the Pro Tank
I've tried them all & IMHO it's the Kanger Pro Tank all the way, it doesn't Leak & Won't Crack, because it's glass & metal. Plus you can get Titanium coils for it too & it's cheap on W9

Does anyone wanna cut a KISS mini and mail it to me? It'd probably be cheaper than buying a tool i literally don't need for anything but this :D

@THC SCIENTIFIC do you have a new ETA on release of Persei touchbutton ?
I second that. My v3 top is inconsistent, a lot of blinking issues, but not fried. I need to find the perfect spot on the touch button for it to fire my herc correctly. Kicking myself for not taking advantage of the 4/20 sale for nibbler xl.

did you order the sr71 ss coils? if yes then it has to be cut down into 3 parts, the coils itself just boiling should be fine but i recommend the ti coils.

When cut down you would need only 1 coil. `

yes ss sr71 coils.
do I need to boil them new?
how do I cut them down?
why even sell them if they aren't recommended?
I paid more for ss coils than a ti because that's what's recommended in your store.

we have both in stock so still selling the older versions as some people still want them.

plus the ss coils you get three, the ti coils are 12.99 each. so price is different when compared.

as for boiling it i would say yes just to make sure.

Now to cut them down all you would need is sharp cutters expand a small amount and cut away, after that compress back and you should be good to go.
