I see this thread is dead but I cant believe what most people are paying for butane. I get a can of whip it premium 400ml for 6 bucks at a the coner store tobacco shop and 5 buck at a lhs 15 min away. Its been over 12 months sence the last post in this thread, has the butane market changed. My lhs also carries purtane, but its more than the whip it (dont know how much).

I'm pretty sure it only has to do with mis-labeling the shipments to avoid the higher fees of a Hazmat designation needed for n-tane cans.

It has to do with that along with marketing it to make BHO which is illegal in 99.999999999 percent of the world. Not very bright of them actually, seemed it was only a matter of time before they were to be shut down.

I see Concentrates as one of the major stumbling blocks for further legalization of our beloved herb 'cause it's so much easier to demonize in the media due to the general public's ignorance of 'em.

Time to stock up on Puretane for anyone who uses it, company just got raided and shut down:

they were calling and pitching it to smoke shops for extraction of nug.

Puretane, on the other hand, is made with maximum purity in mind, specifically for extracting oils out of marijuana. They utilize fractional distillation -- an organic process that uses heat to separate chemical compounds and filter out impurities. The end product is 99.9998% pure, containing only one ten- thousandth of a percent of sulfur -- which they consider medical grade (as evidenced by the green cross on the can). “I’m no sommelier of wax,” he admits, “but we’ve been real happy with the clean taste of the BHO it produces. All I care about is passing along the purest possible product to our customers.”

This made me think of Kleen Extract but it looks like were more careful with the wording/marketing on their site and they follow transportation rules.

I've used colibri premium. Hitman 7x. Vector. And liquid gold n-butane? from same company colibri also. Hitman was my favorite but I couldn't tell ya if it was just because at the time of using it I was getting a lot better at extracting it.

I posted this in the VapCap thread a couple weeks ago and think it will be useful here also:

You definitely want to avoid mercaptans when doing concentrate runs. For lighters it might be ok but I prefer no mercaptans.

I only use butane for torches, and my local headshop carries Lucienne for a good price.

I just noticed the source was linked to previously on page 2 of this thread, but I feel the image makes this post worthwhile. To the mods: feel free to delete this post if you feel it is redundant.
