Ok folks,
The Chinese Country has more holidays than all Judeo Christian philosophies combined. Assuming they return to work, we begin pumping out production of the new improved Indica. I know, what does that mean? For all essential purposes, heater problem fixed, faster heat up time, increased battery life and cleaner vapor taste. Until, I actually test, stateside, and approve the sample of the production unit, the ship date is questionable, but if the manufacturing operation meets it's responsibilities, we'll all see these new units here in about 2 weeks. I'll keep you informed with the results of the test when production unit arrives in the next 7 to 10 days.

Beta Testers for the next Indica, start your cerebral engines. Testing will begin this month.

Just curious, how can a fc member sign up for beta testing?
I'm pretty interested after owning the original indica.

mod note: FC rule: Do not ask about being a beta tester or ask about freebies.

So great to hear Mike, congrats and good luck with everything!!! Thank you for the update

Looks like it'll be summer with indica and grasshopper, the conduction/convection portable dream team I imagined a year ago...

Looking forward to the revamped originals, and this surely sexy new model... Man just having Indicas again for some real quality conduction vapor is going to be so nice, can't wait

Hello guys,

This is just my quick review of my Black Indica after 6 months of use :

-PROS :

=> Stealthiness is my number one criteria for a portable vaporizer, and this vape is cleary a winner here. Just so little and so discrete ... Do you know a vape who fits in the palm of your hand ?
=> Convenient : the Indica is easy to load, easy to use, and you don't need to stir your herb.
=> Easy cleaning : ISO + Qtip + Pipe cleaner, and in one minute your Indica is like new !!! (Or you can blow in the air path, and suck the oven just after a session, if you dont have access to cleaning material)

- CONS :

=> Taste is not as good as my Solo, but it's ok, and it's so discrete ..... that i'am ok with that....!
=> Battery is maybe half the time of my Solo, but it's so discrete ..... that i'am ok with that....!
=> I don't like the lid open when you vape.... so i remove it ! (Thanks @Vape Dr. for this tip)

I just feel sorry about the temp settings ... i would love to see the purple (394°F/201°C) setting at 383°F/195°C and the red (412°F/211°C) setting at 401°F/205°C.

So at this time here is my method of use :

I FINELY grind my herb. I put a lot of herb and i packed the load a little.
After i put the spacer and i push it tightly, until i can close the door.

I vape this load at the Green settings (my favorite temp) and i have big clouds + best taste during 10 mins.
After the first session, i just power on again my Black but on the Purple setting, and i finish my load during 10 mins.

(The Red setting is too hot for me and had unpleasant taste.)

Afer 3 months of use, my Black has stopped to work.
17 days after my call at Indica, i receive a new one in my mailbox (i live in Europe) and at no costs for me !

So Customer service is really good, and Mike has taken care of my case, thanks Mike !

Finally i love this vape, it's stealthiness counterbalance the fact that i can't adjust precisely the temp.

Ohhh and Ratchett funnel is an indispensable tool IMHO if you use this vape every day (Thanks @Ratchett for sendind me a free funnel) !

So I finally joined this forum, firstly, as I have read about these Indicas from the very first posts made back when I was deciding what portable vape to purchase last August and it was the most thorough and informative, and secondly, since I now have a bit of a mess on my hands involving 3 failed Indicas.

I will continue by saying I really enjoyed my original silver and then the two black models that came as a replacement. The quality of the experience - however short lived - was excellent and I don't feel like I want to use any other system at the moment.

I'm the type of person that tries to make a solid purchase based on good research and tries to not buy extra gadgets for the sake of having variety and also that I don't have much extra income currently to just go out and purchase more.

After the first failed model in November I had excellent customer service as I didn't even have to send my original silver one in they went ahead and replaced it with 2 black versions that both eventually died as well. 3 weeks ago I put in another request and after it was requested that I send them in, I finally went out and spent the money to ship all 3 to their center in Missouri all the while being told repeatedly - I've made a few follow up calls on my end for the past couple weeks - that I'd be getting a call back just like I had the first time to arrange a unit to be shipped this way.

I understand the dilemma at this point in time because there's a new version coming that hopefully is reliable, but at the very least I would hope that Indica could either be honest the first time about what's happening and say "we are working on a new version, stay tuned for your replacement" or simply fulfill their promise of shipping out an Indica in the short term that is likely to fail (based on my experience) until the new product is released and shipped.

Can someone at Indica read this and stop ignoring me and/or not make promises that they can't keep? I would appreciate the follow up promised.

I hope it's all up from here, you've got a good thing Indica!

Unfortunately I have a similar experience with two dead Indicas, and while with the first one that died the comunnication and CS was superb by Indica, with this second one that died not so much... Michael stopped answering my pm's in here. I did not called the CS line because I live in Portugal and it is much more convenient for me to contact Michael trhough FC and it never was a problem in the past. As a manner of fact Michael and I used to comunnicate back and forth quite a lot... Anyways I am sure Michael is just swamped with work, and as soon as the new heaters are tested and ready he will resume his normal comunnication and shipmment for us in need of a working Indica.
ohhh and welcome to fc @dozzijdp ;)

@ma125 & @dozzijdp, I'll admit that the timing of the replacement heater did not go as planned. There not much more I could have done until the correct solution was found and replacements sent out. As of today, I understand that samples are on there way for my approval with the replacement heater. Let me be clear, this is not the heater that will be used on the the miniature Indica but a better heater for the original unit that will last the warranty period and longer.

I know I had hoped for an earlier date, but made sure to express that all was up to the will of the Chinese manufacturers. Now , by going through what I feel we have jumped through multiple tasks and hopes, we will know by friday if we took the correct track. Either way, I'll Let you know. No shading of facts.

@ma125, I will PM you later today as I need a little rest but promise to stay behind the promise of indica providing you and your fellow patrons with the best quality product and customer service in the vaporization industry asi of this day looking forward.

All m y best,
Michael

Thank you Michael for the prompt attention to this, you're much faster than your customer service team as of late ;)

Looking forward to the new iterations and getting one sooner rather than later so I may post a review :)

CarolKing you're lucky. I miss my Indica , but after 4 dead in 5 months I took Mike up on a refund and decided to wait out the failing heat chamber problem. Then the wait got longer and I saw a PAX 2 on sale for just over $220 and grabbed it up.

The replacement heating chambers for the new Indicas should be like the PAX 2 (except maybe not so big) the thing heats up super quick and it has already lasted as long as my Indicas did before they died, they aren't messing around when they offer a 10 year warranty. A 10 year warranty from Indica would be a nice gesture after all the trouble some of us have gone through with these faulty ovens. It could restore any faith that has been lost in this brand and show they mean business about bringing out a good and reliable vape, if Ploom can offer it, I see no reason Indica can't.

The negatives of the PAX 2, which have all been mentioned are that the PAX 2 smells much more (even when not in use), I guess that Zippo style lid is good for more than flicking. Also to get a good flavor you have to fill the chamber, I like Indicas spacer idea. I also don't find the screen trick to work for my PAX 2, the flavor just isn't as good unless you fill it pretty tight.

I can't wait until I can get my hands on a reliable Indica, I loved it from first vape, but the heating chamber issue was a debacle if I've ever seen one. For those of you trying to decide, if you can wait until the Indicas are fixed that is the vape I would choose, if you just can't wait or you see a good sale the PAX 2 is a great vape as well (but I wouldn't pay $279 plus shipping for it).

I was wondering if you have a timeline for the mini indica. I would love something discrete, not only in size and shape, but odor. I read this thread and it seems indicas keep in the most odor. I am a huge conduction fan (even though 70% of my vapes are convection) for portables.

Do you think few months? End of this year? 2016? Appreciate any news.

If it's the real size of the zippo or close to the zippo, this would be the ultimate discrete vaporizer and a must own. And this an ignorant statement from a man who never used the regular indica. But from what I gathered from this thread, it seems that this a great conduction vape that had some heater problems which are to be fixed.

i have the OG silver and Noir with no heater problems to date. I gifted the OG silver one to a youngbuck who uses it exclusively with no issues.:)

Hi Guys,
Just got the samples last night. Here's my report based on a quick run through of production components assembled by office workers, not the assembly line folks. All past off gassing is eradicated, in other words, pretty close to convection. Vapor Density on higher temps seem to dense (Bong like) but it's not from combustion. All ABV is a dark roasted Coffee but no black or crispness. Our temp needs to be adjusted from 418 to 412. All vapor densities have increased at each setting.

I still have battery and cycle testing to report but so far, very pleased. Returning to China on Saturday Morning and turning on the spigot once we have adequate production and QC adjustments completed. Thank you all for waiting.

Fantastic news Mike!

Glad the samples seem to check out so we can all get back to our precious, with performance better than ever it seems!

The reference to outgassing and then convection was confusing though? Dont see how those two are related, and the chamber is still the same nice big metal conduction oven as always correct?

Does this mean we need to wait for another single sample test before you ramp up production?

@Shit Snacks, good catch. The flavor was derived from a small aluminum oven through the process of conduction. My creative licence and wish to convey the message that I was impressed with the flavor was absolutely not clear, I'll come up with more flowery terms later.

@Ratchett, as I write this note, my programer in China is adjusting the temp settings for greater accuracy. The new heater has passed it's test and the new internal improvements have made the Indica a more efficient vaporizer. When I get to the factory on Monday, it's likely I may make one or two more small modifications but by Wednesday on the outside, we should be up and running. This new Improved unit, in quantity, will land about 2 weeks from today, on the outside, at my USA warehouse.

With so many of you waiting almost 5 months, I'm hopeful to say, I think we did it.

Next report from China.

It sounds like the new improved Indica is almost ready. A good vaporizer getting better. The smaller size sounds intriguing. I will be interested in hearing about the early reviews when they start coming in.

I'm curious the price of the smaller Indica? I would love to see a pic of it next to the regular sized unit also.
