I have been trying out many oil pen atomizers lately. Dab Tornado, VaporBrothers Dabbler, DivineTribe Donut etc.
While there are thing I like about all these atomizers they all share a common weakness: They all have airholes directly in the atomizer bowl! Some have the holes raised up a bit, but that doesn't help much due to how oil wicks away from heat.
I don't understand you you would do this. Why not build the holes on the OUTSIDE of these bowls, such as on the metal shaft below the bowl? As long as the air is being sucked from somewhere outside the bowl such that a pressure drop can occur in side the chamber, I can see no downside to a design like this.
So WHY isn't there pen made like this?

On the LEFT is how most attys I see being built. Airhole is a drip path for the oil. On the RIGHT side is how I'd like to see a pen chamber built where the airpath is not touching anywhere near the bowl interior.
Also while on the same subject, the wire holes in most of theses attys looks much bigger than they need to be. I haven't actually disassembled one to confirm the large holess continues through but it seems like another overlooked area. Wouldn't you want the holes as tight as possible so nothing can drip through?
Any attys out there built like this?
