Arizer Air 146$ on massdrop. I just grabbed one.

Dang. That's an unbeatable price. I may have to pick up a second, 'cause I don't know what I'd do if something happened to my newest BBF.

@Tacoma_Trees, I'm new (2.5 weeks) to vaping, all via the Air.

Before, when medicating (I combusted), I was completely at the whim of the fates. Can I get to the garage for a few minutes for a quicky? Can I predict that I'll not be "smelled" when I reenter the shared living quarters? Now, with the Air, I've taken liberties I never would have dreamt possible. Because a) the Air is easy to move about and conceal while using, b) the odor is almost negligible (granted you're not exhaling in close proximity to someone). I have yet to have any odor seep out of my Air following a session. I take out the stem, cap it, stash it, and move directly on to whatever I want. No need to hide from people while I'm deodorizing.

Something that I haven't seen mentioned so far: I'm a light weight and don't need to fill a bowl to get done what I need to get done. I've started placing a small screen into the bowl, gently packing in a small amount of ground bud (maybe half a bowl), and that lasts me an evening (two brief sessions-- inside, outside, whatever side). This was a concern of mine prior to purchasing. Would I be able to continue to be frugal with my bud? Yes! I can! Some vapes (from what I understand) require a larger amount to work well. Not the Air.

Caution: bud consumption may increase during learning stage : )

You can use even smaller amounts if you dome your screen

A vapoizer pen using wax or shatter would be the less smelliest, that's if you like that sort of thing. I have the Dabbler I like mine fine but I don't use mine a lot. I tend to put shatter in the middle of my herb and use it in my Solo. I personally don't like the taste of a lot of the waxes and shatter.

It's really hard to find a portable that won't smell a little. You need to keep your equipment clean that's probably the most important thing to remember once you get your unit. My smelliest is the Ascent by Davinci. It's an awesome vaporizer otherwise.

That is awesome! I'm going to wait month and buy a vape for my birthday gift.

I am a lightweight when compared to my friends, but they are all heavy weights to me. I'm not sure where I stand haha.

That's true, but if I'm paying for top grade wax or shatter I'm using a nail and a nice piece with it, rather than a small cramped pen. Just my preference but I'd rather dab it up with some friends on the weekend :p

I like my Solo personally, and that is what I recommend to others looking for a portable. But now there is the Air as well.

I don't find the solo to make much weed smell when sitting there heating up and there have been a few times I started it, set it down for a few minutes to let it warm up, then totally forgot and it has ran the whole cycle with herb in the stem for 12 minutes. To me it almost smells like meat or something like that, depending on strain, with a mild decarbed burnt popcorn type of smell. But on exhale one can definitely smell it - but nothing like smoking. I was at the park today and I smelled someone smoking a joint from at least a quarter mile away.

Last weekend me and a buddy did a few sessions and he was saying how he loved that there is no smell so I told him that there has to be - I mean, you are extracting all the terpenes and blowing them out. So last time we used it I loaded up some super tasty SFV and set it to 5 for him, since every time I have done my routine and I wanted him to see how amazing those hits are - as soon as he exhaled it reeked so gooood.

But the smell from vaping won't stick to your clothes or linger like smoke does until you can wash your clothes. Can smell it on your breath for ten minutes or so as well, or so I have read. And if you start at a low temp and keep edging it up not only will you likely end up using less since it will take longer to vape, but smell is better controlled IMO.

I don't have any tips on evading family and such, but I can say that you are very likely not alone in using cannabis on your porch. As long as you aren't out there doing huge loads and coughing up a lung while playing gangsta rap and swilling 40s with your best buds, I think you will probably be okay. I rent an apt too and I just vape inside most the time, but sometimes I will do it in the parking lot or on my porch or in a buddies car if he comes out to visit.

From what I have seen the Air looks a lot like an ecig, so if anyone asks, it's some weed flavored juice a buddy gave you.

having a low tolerance is a good thing with a lot of these portables.

Thanks for the post! This just gets me even more pumped about grabbing one! I'm just waiting a bit closer to my birthday so I can justify to myself spending $150 haha.
