I have the same stem. Use a small piece of tp, push it down with a pencil, mash it down and turn to get scrubbing action. Then use a toothpick to poke through the basket side and push the paper back out.

Pbw Def sounds easier. I was actually looking at a thread about it last night.

Ah, so you didn't mean "push it through with a pencil or something"? Fooled me there! The Solo stem is longer, you won't fish it back out with a toothpick. If you want to try this, rather than a wad of TP (sure to fall apart), I suggest a strip of paper towel (which generally won't fall apart) with a loop of string or thread around the middle to pull it back with. Being basically an electrical type I have lots of copper wire about, I usually use 22 or 24 gauge for this, a 'U shaped loop'. Thread, or light string can be tied.

We used to jokingly call this trick 'the poor man's test tube brush' since you could never find a proper tube brush in the wet labs (seems those without love to adopt them......).

PBW is the call I think. It's designed to clean basically the same burned on hydrocarbon junk from Brewery plumbing (hence the name) without scrubbing (instead proper detergent action, coupled with water conditioners and free Oxygen generation) using heat/time. Cheaper, safer, and more effective than ISO. And a pound jar lasts a very very long time. Safe down the drain, too, unlike ISO.

Correct @OF the stem I mean is just a longer version of what you have pictured above.

May have to get hold of some of this PBW cleaner :D

Thanks guys

I havent got time to read through all the posts/pages right now, but would someone who owns a Solo and an Air mind telling me what they think of the air and if it is worth me buying an air (I own and love my solo).

The glass stems I have for my solo will fit the air?

I really prefer my Air over my Solo because of it's size and because I can take as many batteries as I need. There's a thread on Ask FC that might help too.

Had some people over last night to watch the fight. My wife's cousin had never tried vaporizing. I let her try the Air and the Extreme Q. Now she wants a vape and cant choose between the 2 LMAO

The Air was the star due to portability, but the bags do work better for group events. Its nice to have a bag going around while another is filling up.... The Air was also being passed around... Both did a great job and were well received by everyone here.

Now. About the fight... Manny was robbed :disgust:

So I've had my micro bubbler for a few hours now and i have to say I'm impressed

First thing i have to mention is its slightly (0.5mm) smaller in diameter than my OEM stems:tup: So no 10 minutes wait for me:science: (although its glass so not all might be the same) after checking against OEM stem i thought i would give it a try and it went straight in while cold with enough grip to hold even when at full temp, there is a slight wiggle (1mm either way measured from the top/mp) when inserted but i think this is down to the ridges in the air's opening)

As far as water its a tiny amount in there, and the only way i have managed to get any out is by shaking it hard (like a crazy person:mental:) and even then it was a few drops, or by blowing into it but again then it took some effort and was so little it didn't even make it to the bottom of the stem bowl.

Now performance i don't know what to say other than it works, it has a nice length (113mm) and water, so I'm sure fans of longer stems will enjoy as well as those looking to be a little kinder to their lungs.

Bowl size (although this may vary) is slightly bigger than the OEM all glass stem (the same size difference as between the small mp (plastic tip) and all glass mp)

The dome in the middle of mine leans a little not sure if this is deliberate but for me it works great, a small amount of water gets trapped against the side so when air flows through the hole it splits into two streams (its hard to explain) which means i get best results by holding it on a slight angle which feels a lot more natural than leaning over it to keep it vertical.

The tube it comes in is nice but it rattles around it there a bit, so I've lined it with some 2mm thick foam with more in the end and cap to keep it snug and secure, this does mean i have to wait for it to cool before putting away but for me thats a trade off I'm happy with.

I have used it a lot in a short space of time so the downside is I'm a lot more baked than normal at this time of day, but the upside is I'm a lot more baked than normal at this time of day:rofl:

I'm sure there was more :hmm: but right now thats all my head can deal with, nothing a few cookies and a little sit down wont fix :p

Oh and a big thumbs up  for vapefiend, as alway great customer service (thanks for the butter)

I got mine yesterday, ordered two, the glass screen was broken on one but it's still functional with the ss screen. I sent them an email,.no response yet. And I didnt get any butter  lol

I seem to have difficulty with the water. I know exactly what u mean when u say the water gets trapped on the sides. Happened a few times and stopped bubbling. Accidentally took a big ass dry hit lol. Theres Definitely a learning curve. My issue with filling is that when filling, water gets caught in the mouthpiece instead of flowing down into the bubbler. And u cant blow in cuz it'll get into the bowl lol. Also with the water getting tape and sticking, you can't really get an accurate assessment of whats in there. Been getting water when taking hits lol. Definitely will continue to tinker.

You start on yellow with a dry mouthpiece? Ummmm. Have you tried starting on blue?
If I were in your positions what I would do (and BTW my throat gets irritated as well)
-Take smaller hits
-Start on blue
-Use a screen
-Keep a drink handy for inbetween hits
-Slowly increase heat when you dont get vapor, go up 1 step at a time

EDIT: Wait are you using yellow with a bubbler? That might be more reasonable. I cant give much advise with a bubbler since I dont usually use my air that way. From what I remember the last time I used my bubbler with the air it was more harsh than my enano. Maybe let your throat heal and then try the above but without a bubbler. With a bubbler it was harsh for me when I was using higher temps but lower temps were not satisfying they were very thin.

See I used to start low and change the temps but it didnt get me as good as going straight for the higher temps. One of my buddies said it's all the same end result and it's easier to just turn to one temp and go so been doing that. I ALWAYS have a drink lol. I use the yellow both dry and with a bubbler

Shawn I think you have uncovered one of the main reasons behind this throat burning effect, namely that my home-grown bud, though ostensibly dry to the stem-snapping stage, is almost never cured, since I generally harvest in such modest quantities that I simply "speed dry" the herb up in the loft where the intense dry heat extracts all noticeable moisture in just 3 to 4 days at most, whereupon I proceed to fire it up in joints, or extract the TCH into coconut oil to use in baking cookies whose effect is purely sedative, with zero psychoactive payload.

I must say that I am somewhat relieved to learn that the throat burning effect I experienced has been noted by at least one other user of the Airizer Air, because I was starting to suspect that perhaps I was already coming down with some respiratory ailment, and that my use of the Airizer was merely coincidental, but not actually a causative factor behind my discomfort.

Reading about your familiar persistent throat issues even when using longer stems, bubblers and shorter hits, I am beginning to suspect that a very tiny minority of new vaporizer users MIGHT be genetically predisposed to throat irritation regardless of the amount of vapor conditioning that is employed to prevent such, and that unfortunately, I fall into that small percentage who might ultimately be forced to revert back to combustion or edibles as the ingestion vehicle of choice.

My primary reason for venturing into the vape world has been the stealth aspect that frees me up to vape at home without that tell-tale stench of burnt bud hanging in the air for a half-hour afterward, with the health benefits of vaping being the icing on the cake. Now, in light of my experience thus far, and also taking into account your own observations encompassing the use of longer stems and bubblers to minimal effect, I am having a serious re-think about whether or not to subject my overly-sensitive respiratory system to further vaping experiments.

That being said, I do intend to eliminate that final variable in the equation, by now setting aside most of my "dry" bud for a nice long cure in preparation for one final foray into the vaping world in a couple of months when the bud is well and truly cured. In the meantime I will revert to edibles to prevent the usual insomnia that sets in when I cut out toking altogether, and of course I will continue to lurk in this forum to learn as much as I can about this device that I am still determined to use with appropriate precautions once the curing process is finally complete with my stash.

Once again I thank you kindly for your contribution to this discussion, for I now at least know for sure that I am not suffering from some pre-existing respiratory ailment which only appeared by coincidence when I started vaping for the first ever time.

This bud's for you, brother.

Anytime man. We're all here to learn, help and make the experience better. Turns out it got me to the point were I tested positive for strep lol. Got some antibiotics, two days in and my throat is a little more resilient lol. Please don't go back to cumbusting lol. I doubt you will. That taste one you smoke again will have u back on the air within the hr. Lol. It just takes getting used to. Life everyone else said. Smaller hits and lower temps. Least until you're used to it right.

@shawn0223 sounds like that's the problem. Idk what else to say
What sounds lie the problem? The strep or the one temp vape method? Lol. Could possibly be a mixture of both lol. Idk how good the lower temps will perform with the vapefiend bubbler. Will test but I'm guessing I'll need yellow or red

I have one of Vapefiends new all in one bubbler mouthpieces... and I like it. It works very well, and even with such a little amount of water - it conditions the vapour to the extent that you can pull pretty large clouds on higher temps without much dryness or throat irritation.

There is a fill-line decal on the glass, but in honesty I found the marked level a little too high so I fill just under it. Filling is also a little bit fiddly, but I have been using a mini funnel to fill with more precision / stop water over filling and dripping into the bowl.

Once your water is in there, it pretty much stays in there. It's by far the most portable and discreet water tool I have used to date.

Do you have issues with the water coming up into the mouthpiece and water sticking to the sides? Happens and then there's not enough water for it to bubble so it's like I'm vapin from a dry stem

Also wondering about this piece :http://www.vapefiend.co.uk/arizer-air/solo-bubbler-mouthpiece.html
What is the draw restriction like ? Also does anyone have the easy flow mouthpiece from Vapefiend ? Just got my Air , I love it, but the stock stems that come with it seem to give the it some draw restriction, wondering if those easy flow stems would help.

Yes, it can happen - getting the fill right takes a little patience, I use a little funnel for precision filling lol I find when I get the level just right there is no uptake into the mouthpiece.

Draw restriction on all the easy flow stems (including the bubbler) Is very much like the PVHE products. The cut air grooves greatly improve airflow. I tend to always use a 14mm Easy-flow or PVHE GonG as a mouthpiece for that reason. If you are having issues with draw restriction easy flow stems will definitely improve airflow.

You guys use your Air tool? i don't grind, pinch and then pack with the tool.

I then do a test draw through the stem, oh man, too tight!

Take the other pointy side of your tool, which, fits perfectly through the little holes and do a single poke through your herb, right through the hole. You can do them all for a nice open airpath.

Large vapey clouds, no restriction. Good for three 10 min seshes on blue. Forget all the extra mouthpiece screened domes stuff people here just want you to buy their stuff. I made that mistake with additional batteries.

Also, my air doesn't beep anymore? No big deal, and actually way nicer, but I wonder why?

Dude it really tested my patience earlier lol. Even if I get it right and it wont get into the mouthpiece but I still can't get it to where water wont get trapped between the glass on the inside causing the water level to drop below the holes in the glass.
What kind of funnel you using? That's a small hole (pun intended. Hehe) whenever I put water, it just beads up in the mouthpiece and I have to shake it to drip down into the bubbler

I had some screens laying around; didn't have to buy them. But when my supply runs out I'll pick some more up. Because I've found them to be quite useful. One, they allow me to grind (which I've found renders better results with the bud I have, and this helps me conserve) without having material get into the stem (thanks to the screen the stem is perfectly clean after a number of sessions); two, I find using the screen makes it easier to pack smaller bowls, and also helps airflow (I'm not packing bud in directly over the holes).

I liked my tool (lost it somewhere) but if I don't need to use a tool, I'm just as happy not to.

Edit: Regarding batteries, I'm much more relaxed knowing that when my battery goes out, I'm not out of commission until I can get it recharged. Having a second (and a third, in my case) is well worth the investment.

Folks have free will. These are suggestions for other to use or not. I don't think most of us have a iron in the fire ( nobody gets compensated for suggesting stuff ).

We have sponsors on FC that just keeps the site running. We have FCers that have a cottage industry in their homes, mostly hobbies. They aren't making big bucks. When I suggest something it's to make someone else's experience better.

People come to FC for vaporizing suggestions.

I agree.

And frankly i havent seen people trying to sell their own stuff in this thread either. I see people recommending other people's stuff.... But thats kind of what we are here for right?

Different things will work better for different people. Doesnt mean anyone else's way of doing it is wrong.

I try everything i can thats cheap and easy.. No telling what you may enjoy more. You can read thousands of pages of reviews but you still wont know what you personally will enjoy until you man up and give it a try.

Looks like i should get the 18mm turbo GonG today or tomorrow. I look forward to giving it a try :D

Here is a tip I've mentioned before, but deserves repeating. Put a cable tie on things that roll to prevent them from rolling off the table. For the Air, it needs to be loose so you can still change the battery. Instant kickstand.

Not to be a jerk, but the fact that you were surprised that your Air doesn't beep anymore tells me you have not read enough of the thread and therefore your post should come with a, "take with salt" instructions. I understand that is your opinion but please be responsible when posting. You stated it like a matter of fact and not in the way of helping people. I love stock stems, I like Eds, I like PVHE, they all have their place. Those custom peices were all made to enhance the experience and not for them to "bank off of us." Ever read their pages? Full of satisfied folks including myself. Im no shill. Trust me, ask anyone on FC that knows me. If they were terrible, FC would be the first place for them to be picked apart.
I am not a MOD but please dont do that again, it brings, what I feel, is a bad vibe. All stems have proven worthy. Good day.

Also, I'm glad I have THREE batteries. Better to be proactive than reactive. Hmmm wonder if those stem maker people think that way.......

Edit - @OF I cannot agree with you more. Those screens are very effective. I flatten mine to make a flat shorty bowl rather than a dome. I need to order more. I am using them in my SOLO stems as well.

I too don't agree with this opinion. I'm probably the biggest promoter of the domed screens Sinclue first discovered, neither he or I are in any way related to this, get no profit. AFAIK the maker of the screens is not a Forum Member, for sure he's not identified himself or made any posts on the topic I can see.

Frankly I'm offended a bit by the inference we're shills as opposed to trying to help our fellows.

Self promotion is prohibited generally, well defined in the rules, and has been strictly enforced. IMO such claims to the contrary are way off base.......and should be ignored by those seeking useful information.

Once again, I strongly encourage folks to consider those screens, and I've actually tried them:

I have to agree these domed screens are great. I am more of a pig, however, and I place them concave first: the glass holes remain uncovered, and, for me (a cronic user), the size of the bowl is perfect on heat setting "White" level: yummy! Sit & Suckle, Coffee & Computer, it's a glorious morning.

Excellent points.

And pointing back to a great strong point of Air (and Solo for that matter), it is an extremely versatile tool indeed. There is no 'right' or for that matter wrong way to use it if the results are what the owner wants. It can, with appropriate techniques, serve both the sippers and cloud chasers. Flavor freaks can revel in small loads, low temperatures and pure taste. Guys trying to 'milk' their WT, OTHO, have only to make a few adjustments and they too are in tall cotton. Higher temps and bigger loads are very useful here.

Optional aftermarket accessories can further enhance this for those so inclined.

A powerful tool for good, IMO, worthy of serious consideration by a very broad spectrum of Vapers. Even if you already have a Solo......which of course you should.....
