FlowerMate Vapormax V/V5.0/V5.0S/V5 Pro

Mine also arrived today. I only see the ceramic bowl with a silicone oring near the top and on the bottom the screen sitting on a baffle plate that has 5 holes in it.

It's still charging so I'll have to check it later for any burn off smell.

This is my first FM product. Can someone with both the mini and V5.0
verify that the mouthpieces are the same size? Thinking about ordering a spare or maybe one of Ed 's.

Vapzilla,
@Solsticejk, I've never seen loose wires in any of my 3 models of FMs. That doesn't sound right. Did you get it from a vendor you can return it to?

@Vapzilla, the mouthpiece on the Mini has a different threading, though you can separate the actual borosilicate mouthpiece from the metal threaded piece. Those are interchangeable.

I see the wires on my mini as well. Received from PUI. I don't think they are loose but the other FM models have a divider which is why you can see the wires and they weren't previously mentioned.

This means we can now convert the airpath to exclude the inner body.

Tnx for your replies. So what happens when i put just 0,15 gram or less grinded herbs in the chamber, without modifications, extra screens and packing? Will it vaporize and get me medicated?

Absolutely! I'm a microdoser. 0.1gm gives me at least 2 sessions of three 10 second draws. I grind fine and tamp lightly into a puck. Your mileage may vary.

Hey guys, I'm about to order my first vape ever :D and I want a Flowermate, is this place legit? http://vaporearth.com/collections/p...flowermate-vaporizer-v5-0s?variant=1156478081 It's on 70$ right which seems like a better deal than the 80$ on puffitup. I was gonna get the mini, but at this price, seems like this is a better idea, and longer battery life. ty!
Have no idea about that site, but I advise buying from the trusted FC supporting retailer PuffItUp... the best service you will find and they do price match.

At the very bottom 'Chat with our support' will take you to their live chat system.

I will be uploading a video with the Mini + D020-D in an hour or so, not a lot of hits but great production. I tried three bowls native on low temps and couldn't get good lighting, gave up and just settled with a water video. I will do native videos down the road.

An hour was a horrible guess, only takes 10 minutes to upload to YouTube.

Thanks guys, I did, I'll reply here if they make the price match indeed.

Nice video! Wow that mini is really mini! For group smoking it's probably better the V5.0s in that case from the looks of it.

I just unboxed it 30 minutes ago and have ran 3 burnoffs and started vaping. Very pleased, I wish it was max temp of 230C but I have other vapes that are great in that area. The strong adhesive/electronic taste is present for me as well. This was an issue of the Flowermate and while it does degrade it honestly doesn't taste that great in general, I don't see that changing on this one.
I hate to say it, but the taste and smell are gonna be dealbreakers for me. It's a shame because I love the size and ease of use, but I don't want to be worried about all of the toxins I'm inhaling deep into my lungs everytime I use this. Got it from puffitup and I haven't loaded any herb, so I'm hoping for a return. Gonna stick with my Firefly for now until a find a better portable option.

Its not really that bad, unless you're looking for the best flavor around. Run the burnoffs for a while and see how it smells. I would suggest at least 10 before you give up.

Ok, I'll keep trying before I give it up, thanks. The little piece of copper in the bottom screen I think isnt supposed to be there, but I'm going to ignore it as don't expect it effects all that much.

The copper stuff is suspicious indeed, could be a lemon... But for the glue smell it comes from the polyimide tape insulation they use, and I can assure you that after about two charges worth of empty burn-ins it will be almost un-noticeable. Then after a few days using the device it will be completely gone. It's really important that you provide a lot of air movement during the burn-ins, letting the device sit unattended will be slower. Blow in the mouthpiece or use a fan.

The taste really isn't that bad, it's just that 1) the first temperature setting is too high so it ruins the delicate terpenes pretty fast, 2) the vapor path is very short and it's full-on conduction so it tends to roast more than a convection vape. But honnestly, on low temps my FM-Pro is really delicious and not that far from my Ascent which is regarded by many people as top-notch taste-wise.

So don't worry too much about the materials used as they are pretty safe overall (unless you are nickel intolerant) I told Smiss a lot of times to find a solution for the polyimide glue smell but they claim it's perfectly safe, so we just have to endure it for a brief while and afterwards no problem!

Mine smells and tastes like plastic as well. Harsh
I loaded the chamber and ran several burn in sessions while blowing through the air inlets on the side of the unit and through the mouthpiece. I'm hoping it goes away soon.

The small holes in the mouthpiece screen causes too much draw resistance, IMO.

This smells are only on the Mini? Or the 5.0s also suffer this? Since I haven't heard people complaining about it on r/vapormax or /vaporents

I did about a dozen burn-offs with the Mini but the smell was not very bad to begin with. I did several dozen empty burn-offs with the vPro, and it still had the plasticky/gluey/electrical smell. I finally gave it up and loaded a bowlfull of herb and I have to say the smell was completely gone and the herb incredibly delicious and flavorful at temps below 375f. I do notice that I don't get the same vapor production with the Pro at 385 as I do with the Mini at 385. But the effect I want is there.

They all suffer the taste issues but it's known to do burn offs. You get adjusted to flavor of polymide.

Do you think running a fan blowing directly into the heat chamber for a few hours would alter/affect the calibration of the temp settings? Like I have heard that on a kitchen oven you shouldn't leave the oven door open when it is on (like for heat) because it could damage the thermostat.

(Sorry, I couldn't get the quote function right this time)

I would not think it would interfere but @KeroZen may have a better answer

Hey all, new here and have been following this discussion thread for a bit.
Ordered my first vape EVER after quite alot of research etc.... which for a number of reasons including price, stealthiness, ease of use, charging time and mini usb, previous model ratings vs competing models etc... is the new Flowermate Mini. Fingers crossed, hoping my FL mini comes sometime this week and that my decision turns out to be a good one.

I will definitely give you my first impressions and updates on performance etc.

Love all your vids man. Is there anyway to tell us details on the video?

1. Grind method
2. How much did you fill
3. Was it used prior to the video sesh? (Already warmed)
4. Any screen Mods? Or drilled out holes?

Herb in that jYar was ground on paper first with my SCS with no bottom so it fell straight on the paper, the grinder wasn't held upside down.

Without packing it loosely filled up to 75 percent, I'd say .12g.

I had used it for 4 prior 5 minutes sessions so it was a bit warm already.

Used a screwdriver to widen 3 of the five holes.
