Well all my GonG's are broken!

Looks like dry stems for a while.

Why did I order more glass?
I set my Solo on my bed today!

Dog got excited and jumped on the bed!

If he wasn't so beautiful I would be more mad!!

BOBCAT

Its Just Temporary
Ended up replacing my first solos battery after 4 years of usage, it could go up to 4 but would shutoff if I tried to go any further. One of the screws snapped in half and I accidently torn a chunk off the bottom other than that everything was successful.:spidey:

The solo is a very reliable and sturdy little tank.We can pretty much drop kick them and they still live on..

100% correct, this was technically my first high end vaporizer. I won it in vapornations fuckcombustion contest..definitely is a great beginner vape as well as expert level consumer vape..hard to believe they used to sell for $299!

A very durable vape that can be put to the test. I've dropped mine just a few times but many portable vaporizers after dropping the first time they are toast.

The bottom seems to be the most fragile on 2014 Solos but even that isn't a big deal. It doesn't affect the performance whatsoever. You can even buy a bottom for it from @Pipes.

imagine, if you would, dual solo's on top of the claisen /d020 setup. Carbed gong used to clear the carb. Damn man head is going clobber just thinking of it

No worries, it's been done (isn't that always the way it seems to happen?). A couple years back. Back when Solos could the run in 'true PA mode', not the 'use while charging' we now have. I built him a custom PA (like the Pipes 'All in One') with two outputs so he could power both Solos from the mains (not worry about charging ever). And a car adapter...... I sure hope it was for passengers, or use when parked/camping. He disappeared, I hope that's not why......

A smart person still uses one!

Really? Any idea who he/she is? Someone we know?

  • There are the PVHES line of mouthpieces and you can get them through the above online vaporizer store. They are sponsors of FC. Their stems are very popular and sometimes you need to recheck often to see if they are available. There are different types to choose from to fit your vaporizing needs.

  • Buy 2 at a time because glass breaks. I find late at night is when it happens most for me.
What bubbler is this and how good it is? It's beautiful, I hope it's not expensive? I like the looks. This pic I found online.

I think they're listed as Ash Catcher bongs/hookahs .
Here's some examples from DHgate .

get one from eds tnt..look at the solo stems...

Since the original request was for less restriction, I'm not sure I agree with this. Mine might be an exception, but the draw resistance with any of my PVHES (I have 3) is less than with Ed's otherwise excellent offering. Yes, Ed's has notches on the bottom, good for keeping a seal from happening. But that exact same function comes with any stem if you tip or lift it.

However, since the Ed's stem doesn't have the grooves on the side like the PVHES it doesn't offer the same improvements there I think?

If the goal is less draw restriction I'm with the rest, check out PVHES. Maybe even a turbo version if you're really brave?

Haven't had a chance to use any of the PVHES, next time they have a sale i'll be sure to pick up 2..liking the look of the turbo. From what i'm seeing on the website they have a 2 hole glass screen similar to the stock solo stems. From my experience with my stock stems and ed's tnt[shorty and normal stem] the stock feels like your sipping on a homemade milkshake..the type that kinda crushes the straw from suction whereas the ed's tnt requires less lung power. I really prefer the metal screen over the glass..would be nice if they can make stems similar to vapor brothers which metal screens..ceramic screens..would be cool to see heady solo stems.

My stock Solo stems (both in-box and from the local headshop) have all had 4 holes. I was able to use a small diamond-tipped dremel piece and turned a stock stem into a turbo stem, then heated the glass to melt over and not be rough. A good thorough wash and a screen later the airflow was quite improved. Easier to overwhelm the heater on low settings with a strong draw. The simple solution is to just draw slower.

As for heady Solo stems... @VaPeD&CoNfUsEd is one of the resident glassblowers and does stems for some vaporizers, Solo included. Scan the last ~15-20 pages of the thread to get caught up with what his more current works are looking like. I think they're fucking gorgeous and something you'll probably really consider.
