Sure! Sorry, forgot about the herb still covering the screen in this example.
But I still trust the oilpad more than a herb bed. the oilpad exists just for this type of concentrates and is designed to be safe to use in this device. The herb bed method seems to be far more risky in terms of messing up the device.
And the small chunks of shatter splits up so evenly in the oilpad that you can suck like mad on the crafty, you will not be able to suck it off the pad.

Can anyone suggest the best carrying case for the Crafty? Is RYOT the way to go? If so, which one?

i found a case in a local camera store - Vanguard Dakar 6A - and it fits perfectly , it´s a bit padded so the crafty has a safe home. The price is around 8 euro.

If you're using herb on the bottom, why even bother with the pad on top if using shatter? Why not just drop it in the herb and put more herb on top? Or is it to cut down on how much shatter is lost to the CU? I won't use shatter on top of the CU anymore due to too much loss. I suppose I could use less shatter, but my experiences aren't that great with tiny amounts. Even with a decent amount and max temp I still don't get the performance using the pad then if I added herb.

Ok so I've got a Crafty, 10,000 mah back up, 18mm SonG, and a Wear and Tear kit on the way.

Is there anything else you guys recommend for a new Crafty owner?

You picked one perfect piece of glass to mate with the Crafty! I had the d-020 but didn't like how small it was. D-020-d is awesome! I was thinking of getting one just for vape bong portability with my Mighty. Or Crafty if it ever gets a battery update.

I use a hard shell sunglass case for mine and it also holds a small tin for my bud and a small space case grinder. I wrap crafty up in a small piece of bubble wrap for extra protection, but the hard case really does a nice job.
On a side note: I'm getting ready to try the wax for the first time and was wondering what some of you thought about it? It's 75 us for 1g so it's not cheap. Is it worth it and is this price kind of high for this stuff?
I plan on putting in small bud- wax- small bud and temp at 200?
Thanks all!

Pretty bummed that I can't go pick up my package from UPS customer care due to them being closed on the weekends, so I'm thinking of grabbing it early before work on Monday. Let it charge at my cubicle and whatnot lol. I'll have to begrudgingly use my EVO until then (wish there was a font for sarcasm).

I got no experience with huge amounts of concentrates in the Crafty since tiny chunks already shoot me in the clouds but didn't thought that the oilpad differs in performance compared with a herb bed. Interesting stuff!

Only mention I want to throw in the ring is warranty situations. A herb bed from biohacker isn't the same herb bed as dimildarkos, but the oilpad is. So a not that experienced user could easily mess up his chamber with a faulty herb bed, may it be not ground up enough, too much moisture or too less material.
So when bad things happen and the concentrate isn't catched fully by the herb bed and flows in the inner of the crafty and damages it, how would s&b handle this?
They will have questions how the concentrate could get into the device and when you explain the herb bed they MIGHT be suspicious wether a customer uses concentrates not the way they designed their product to handle them.

Don't want to disencourage this kind of concentrate usage if it works better then the oilpad, but keep in mind that it COULD lead to difficult situations when you have warranty claims provoked by concentrate without using the concentrate helper tool.

High errone, crafty customer / warranty service report incoming.
Bought in November, all good until recently when switch failed.
Mailed Monday, new unit in hand today, Saturday. Coast to coast and back. Five days.
Sealed box with all the goods.
Yay S&B America!
Doesn't like Lollipop, but neither do I.

I messed up one thing when I sent my Crafty in, and I'm a little nervous.

I got the address correct, I just forgot to specify Suite A.

On the shipping label, however, the package is addressed to "Storz and Bickel America".

I did everything that was recommended packaged the base unit only securely, wrote them a note detailing the problem, wrote another courtesy letter inside the packaging and provided proof of my purchase from Paypal.

I'm just hoping that one little detail doesn't end up re-routing my package, or god forbid getting lost in transit.

The package was addressed to Storz and Bickel America though. Can you alter that info while in transit somehow?

It's saying that the address I specified is a business address, but who knows how many businesses reside inside that office building.

Has anyone ever contacted Storz successfully by phone?

D020-D is due to arrive next week and I've got space in my Pelican case for the Crafty. So I guess I'm set.

I use a pelican case to. I really love it.

I used to use a 1200 but decided I wanted to expand what I was carrying so this year I went to a 1400.
This is strictly for hauling my crap around the house and keeping it organized and protected. It's really not a setup for places I may have to publicly mingle.

I have pics of my setup on page 153 if you are interested. What I'm currently carrying is a tad different but essentially the same set up.

Again, this is just for lugging my crap around the house. I have a family that does not participate and this just allows me to keep things centralized and protected and very portable from one room to the next, with all my needs met. Dry vape from unit, dry vape with a j-hook, dry vape with a whip, dry vape with whip and jhook, wet vape, wet vape with a whip and bong, etc etc.

I would highly recommend one of these cases to anyone that has the kind of needs I described above. They are a bit spendy ( $75-ish on up to hundreds depending on size of case. ) but very ruggedly built and highly customizable for perfect fit. When after 2 years the latch on my 1200 broke, they shipped ( Free of charge. ) out a new latch which fit very easily on and my case was like new again.

I'm not saying this can't be a travel case, it is a great travel case and I do use mine this way too, it's just too conspicuous to use in a public place like say a 4th of July public outing, or a park, etc. smaller softer packs you can pocket are better here imo.

Anyways, was just happy to see another pelican user.:tup::tup:

Tech support is hard to get a hold of on the spot. You usually have to wait for a call back. Usually the next day.

But...if you use the zero option in the menu when you call, you can talk to a very helpful employe. I'm not sure what her exact role is, she answered as some sort of operator. But she was able to pull my account up and give me info I needed.

Hope this helps anyone trying to talk to a live person. I find it very frustrating when I deal with a company and can not. Dial zero.

Pretty certain you can relax. All the carrier needs is S&B. How many parcels/day would you think? They gotta know where it go. And surely you kept your carrier's receipt/tracking #?

No need for phone, they'll email you tracking, you'll be signing in 2-3 days.

Sent Monday. They got it Wednesday, I got it Saturday. Today. Yay!
Coast to coast and back, 5 days. That's got to be a good part of the S&B price of admission.

Surely you have tracking#. Go online and find the little beast.

I think you'll be fine. I buy my S&B stuff direct from them at that address and it's pretty obvious where they are.

You make an interesting point, but not sure how that would differ from you using X amount on the pad and I use Y amount. The pad does leak and leave a ring of melted shatter around the metal ring of the bowl. And future uses of that same pad, even though giving off no more vapour, for some reason leave the same shatter ring around. Perhaps i'm using too much....it's about 2 grain of rice size.

So I got to ask you about that.

I sent my unit out UPS to Oakland.

I paid 15 dollars to send it to Oakland from the East Coast.

Does Storz cover the cost of return shipping?

Unfortunately my Crafty won't get to Oakland until this Tuesday, according to my tracking info.

Any chance you remember what shipping method Storz used to get Crafty back to you so quickly?

I am dying to get my Crafty back, thankfully I have my EVO to hold me over, but damn do I miss the convenience factor and quality of that little beauty.

S&B will pay for the return shipping. They will even provide a shipping label to ship to them as well if you can get a hold of someone on the phone.

They cover the priority USPS back to you. 2-3 days. You should plan on signing for it Friday.
