It is not the version with the updated temperatures. still a fantastic deal.

I did a little measuring and the Haze battery comes in at 68 mm(roughly) in length. My Fenix ARB-L2 battery has a 68 mm stated length which I found on Fenix-store.com. It appears by my eye to be a fraction of a hair shorter than the Haze battery. I tried a DEWorld battery that I purchased from Radio Shack and it doesn't fit. It measures out at 69.5 mm by my rough measure. I would say that any battery measuring over 69 mm is a gamble and probably won't fit. I would definitely try to keep the length between 68 and 68.5 mm.

I have also pondered on the "special" protection circuit built onto the Haze batteries. I can't envision it being any different than any other protected battery. I'm sure it's for marketing reasons and to keep those who don't have knowledge of the battery design from making a dangerous mistake.

As others have said, it's good to support Haze Tech.

Count Vapula, thank you for the welcome and special thanks for the highly detailed 18650 battery info as it pertains to the Haze. I personally believe your 2 posts quoted below should be in the best-of thread(s) - or maybe even as the initial primer for an 18650 best of thread?

A flashlight enthusiast's educated opinions about trustworthy name brands for 18650s saves me tons of reading in the flashlight forums.

I agree that if prices of good batteries are similar at all to Haze's pricing, I'll gladly bring the commerce to Haze.

That 3400 is currently the true max mAh available in this battery size is yet another valuable guideline to know.

An aside about Haze durability: Prior to ordering my Haze 2.5, I've been marathon reading the threads here and elsewhere regarding portable vapes somewhat in the Haze class.

Setting aside the dual bowl and other advantages for a moment and just looking at durability:

Compared with (what I perceive to be) a fairly high warranty return rate of a lot of portable vapes, it appears to me that there is a remarkably low percentage of posts about Haze failures. I read of one battery failing in short order, one heating element that stank and wouldn't burn in, a couple of suggestions about borderline door latches and hinges, changes requested to temp ranges. Haze appears very responsive regarding design improvements (better temp range, door latching, stealth black color, etc) but my main point is: It appears the Haze vaporizer may pan out to be exceptionally reliable.

Anyway, the pleasantly surprising durability is just one of the reasons I ordered the Haze. Seems it probably has low infant mortality rate (as pertains to the 'bathtub curve' describing global failure rates of electronic products).

I'm a bit of a flashaholic and have done lots of research on led flashlights and the Lithium Ion batteries that power them. The current highest mAh rating of any 18650 is 3400 mAh. Anything above that is falsely advertised and should be avoided at all costs. It's most likely from some old laptop battery pack that has been harvested and the cells re wrapped with a protection pcb that may or may not even work. They are typically only 1500 mAh which isn't even close to their "super power" claims. "You get what you pay for" comes to mind.

The standard 18650 is an unprotected cell at 18 mm diameter and 65 mm in length. The 0 refers to the shape of the cell. Protected 18650s are sometimes referred to as 18700 but most people just call them protected 18650s. They are usually 69 to 70 mm long. There may be some cells that won't fit comfortably or at all, in the Haze.

I tried my Fenix cells because they match up to the length of the Haze battery, I already own them and I know they are a quality brand. They are what I would consider a safe bet. Fenix, Nitecore, Olight, Xtar, Eagletac, Orbtronic, Zebralight, SoShine, Keeppower and Klarus batteries would be some of the few that I trust but only if I already had them on hand or could find them at a lower price than the Haze batteries. Might as well stick with the Haze batteries if purchasing price is lower, unless you want to use them in other devices that accept 18650 batteries. The Haze batteries are just barely skinny enough to fit into my Fenix flashlight but won't fit into my Klarus flashlight.

I believe you could use unprotected 18650 batteries in the Haze but you would have to modify the battery. You could glue a 4 mm length magnet or put a dab of solder onto the positive terminal. This would bring the battery to the proper length. It does seem like a bit of trouble and would require the skills, tools and material. I know quality(made in Japan not China) Panasonic 18650 3400 mAh unprotected batteries can be had for about $10 each. Considering you can purchase the Haze XL batteries for about $15 each, it hardly seems worth the trouble if only using them in your Haze.

I'm thinking that the Haze isn't a high current draw device. I believe that is something that draws over 3 amps. Some high power flashlights can really suck down the juice.

A bit off topic. But since we are talking about batteries, 18650 is very common to most box mods for e liquids. Would the haze Xl or regular work good in one of those anyone ever try it. I am gonna make some wejuice. And plan to get a different mod and already have 4 haze batteries, so you think they would work?

Thank you, I'm just glad I could help. I knew all that information rattling around would be of some use, just didn't expect it would be on a vaporizer forum.

I do believe I have read through most of the thread and everything pointed me to my Haze. A couple minor issues seemed as nothing when compared to all of the positive feedback. Haze Tech does it right and does it well.

As for the Haze batteries working in a mod, it would all depend on the diameter and length of the mods battery compartment. Length shouldn't be a problem if the mod is designed to accept protected cells. The Haze batteries appear to have a slightly thicker protective wrapping. The only example I have is of the Haze batteries only fitting in one out of my 3 flashlights that accept 18650. The diameter of the battery is just a hair too big.

got my haze yesterday from puffitup, put the batteries on the charge for the day. Came home for bed and wam bam thank you man. started her off with a conduction screen bowl obviously after a few burn offs. interesting smell from the burn offs. either way great first bowl followed by some blue cough shatter and damn taste was awesome. Loving the versatility of this unit. the two bowls is just awesome i think. and the cans just make a cool experience as well in my opinion. nice and tidy. however a little fiddly.loving this unit so far. excited to see what she has in store to come

Welcome my friend. I am also excited to see what else might be coming our way. Especially since I lost one recently. Could not find it in TN stores to show my cousin during my visit but I put a very good word out to several of them for sure.

My next portable is definetly going to be the Haze and I can't wait!!! Thanks to all you early adopters and to @Haze Vaporizers for making and continuing to improve on an awesome concept!!!

Welcome to the Haze! I can't compare it to any other vaporizer except from what I had read. It fits my needs almost perfectly and does an excellent job. I would still like to try the Firefly. I only wish I knew someone who owns it.

Hello everyone. New member here. Just a quick note to thank everyone for their comments on the Haze (and other vaporizers). I've been partaking for 45 years and have been curious about vaporizers for some time. It's a minefield out there and without these threads I never could have made an informed decision. After reading all 85 pages of this thread I took the advantage of 420 day pricing and got a Haze 2.5, 2 extra batteries and 4 extra cans. I wasn't disappointed and after experimenting for a few weeks have settled on cans for dry herbs at levels 3-4. After 2 back surgeries this thing is a Godsend. The battery door issue went away after a week of use and the glass mouthpiece fits too loosely (I prefer the stainless anyways) but other than that it does exactly what was expected. I dropped Haze a quick note to let them know one of the labels on the batteries was applied upside down (the plus sign at the negative end of the battery) and about the loose fitting mouthpiece. Hailey replied right away and asked me to forward picks of the battery (which I did) and then offered to send me a new mouthpiece (which I declined). The battery works fine so no need for an exchange but I have a feeling that if I'd asked she would have done so. How refreshing to find a company committed to customer service.

I have read a couple times now about the loose fitting mouthpiece. Seems like a rare problem. Is it loose enough were it may fall out or just easy to pull out? My mouthpiece pulls out fairly easy but won't fall out. I haven't tried the cans yet but will have to do that today. I'm more of a convection person. That's an oops on the battery label for sure. That brings a question to mind. Does the Haze have reverse polarity protection? I imagine it does but has anyone got confirmation?

It's so easy to pull out it's dropped down when barely moving it. As I told Hailey its not a huge deal as I like the stainless option better. Hailey mentioned never seeing the battery labelled that way before but it works fine. Can't speak to the "reverse polarity protection". Man this thing is versatile. I'd never vaped before but friends I've turned on so far say it blows away others they've tried. I'm really glad the cans don't have to be full to enjoy a session. I usually fill about half way which is good for about 6 or 7 nice hits using temp 3 and then 4 to finish it off. Damn all this has given me a reason to go fire one up right now.

So I just got my Haze a couple weeks ago and it's been working great but all of a sudden instead of heating only one oven at a time, when I turn it on it heats up both chambers. Dafuq?

I asked this question to Haze before and yes it is protected. You can insert the battery upside down by error and that will not harm the battery or the product. Hope this helps.

Nice, I've been worried about this! Also, FYI the serial number is laser etched on the inside of the battery door. I threw away the box and freaked out that I forgot to write down the number. Customer service told me where to find it

Contact Haze, their customer service is beyond excellent.

Got another email from Hailey this morning with a tracking number? I emailed to ask what they were up to and they decided to send me a new glass mouthpiece and battery anyways. I had told her previously it wasn't necessary as the mouthpiece was loose but not unusable and the battery worked fine (the label was applied backwards) but she decided to send new ones anyways. Her exact words were "It is our job to take care of customers. We feel like a one big family with all Haze owners and can only get better with loyal customers." Customer service doesn't get much better than this.

I love these folks. You really aren't going to find a company taking better care of their customers than what Haze does day-to-day.

A good friend came to stay with us for a few nights. We let her try the Haze and she loved it. I know she planned on getting one after she gets her SS settlement. Waiting on the hearing. Another convert from combustion.

I donated my Haze to her, since she hasn't been released to work after just having two major heart attacks. Her employer fired her, her bf kicked her out and the Dr gave her 2 years to live. Talk about the worst luck. It's the least I can do.

I had better get to shopping and find a replacement.

@Count Vapula with moves like that you definitely belong in the Haze Family.

Well, after reading page after page in this thread, reading and watching reviews, trying to find the best portable vaporizer on the market, I finally purchased the Haze Vaporizer. WOW. What a device!

It works amazingly well; way better than expected. I enjoy the cans the most, I've got 6 in total, and it can pretty much last me a full-day out an about. I use 2 batteries for a full day approx. After using this vape for over a month, I can say, this is way better then my desktop vape, and several others that I've tried over the years...

Overall:

Pros:
-Very discreet use
-Very efficient (pretty much inhale all or most of the beneficial compounds in my cannabis and makes it last wayyyy longer)
-Convenient (cans are the epitome of convenience for a cannabis consumer)
-Replaceable batteries
-2 different mouthpieces
-Dual Bowls
-Decent Design
-Great Warranty and Upgrade Program and Customer Service
-Decent Manufacturing Quality

Cons:
-People might think you're drinking alcohol from a flask, but not really if you cover it with your hand and keep the Haze vertical rather then horizontal like you're taking a swig from a flask lol.
-Battery door hinge is kinda finicky and seems a bit flimsy
-Main Chamber hatch door is also kinda flimsy with it's plastic clip locking mechanism
-Mouthpiece gets a bit stuck, and sorta hard to remove from the chamber after some use
-Can't use both bowls at the same time
-Made in China
-Silicone Lids for cans aren't the healthiest option...imo

Possible Improvements:
-I'm not sure about the specifics, but the design could maybe be a little skinnier to reduce the profile of it in say your pant pocket...the main design is cool though
-Make the battery door hinge more secure and durable and less finicky
-Make the main chamber door more secure and less prone to degradation
-Create another compartment for storing the mouthpiece -- good idea to keep the mouthpiece with the device, but gets stuck due to resin..
-Give the user the ability to use both bowls at the same time and also use them one at a time..
-Arizer makes their vapes in Canada, and they're around the same price as the Haze's made in China vape>!? I would've bought Arizer Air, but they didn't have the features that I wanted. But I bet their manufacturing quality is supreme.
-Create bigger bowls maybe? (and therefore cans)
-Create some sort of stainless steel hinged lid for the canisters instead of silicone lids...
-Get some super-capacitor batteries going!! lol jk

How does the Haze convection screen work? Does it really keep your herb from being wasted between hits (or between sessions)?

If I get the haze and use the convection screen, does that mean I can take a hit or two, leave the device alone for a few hours, and then come back to finish the bowl? Or will it still waste my herb like a conduction vape?
