I got an email from grasshopper with the same information from the update but at the end it said:

We know now that it will take most of May to get caught up on part shortages. This means that your estimated delivery will be pushed to late May or June depending on your place in line. Due to this inconvenience, any orders that are shipped late will receive an extra battery free of charge.

Am I doing the math correctly? If the SS hopper weighs 60 grams. Than the Ti Grasshopper weighs 45g!? I ask because it doesn't seem correct. A convection vape that weighs 1.5 ounces which puts out 45w of power? To put it in perspective, I just weighed an IMR 18650 and it weighed 42 grams. An 18350 IMR weighed 22 grams. I know it's been asked before but was their a definitive answer if the weight was with the battery or not?
I asked Trevor and he said:
The weights are given with the battery in. 2.35oz for the Standard and a bit less than that for the TI. I don't have the exact number in front of me.

Yeah I got that tweaked email today too, the beginning is different as well:

"Today is May 1st, which as you know is past your original estimated delivery date. Please know that we’re working around the clock to ship your order as soon as possible. We’ve been shipping some units, but a shortage of a few parts has caused a lag for everyone. That said, the bulk of production is going incredibly well."

So they are starting to address shipping directly at least, but looks like we're almost there? Bonus battery is nice, steel case would be nicer? Whatever can never have too many batteries... They did claim to have shipped some, and seems they do have at least some completed ones, but of course nobody here got one clearly. Need something else to think about for two weeks lol

Got the email notice too. Pre-ordered mid March/15 with an estimated May ship date.
I'm getting stoked!!!

It's the stealth factor, power, even cooking of product throughout and 5 second heat up time that has me all stoked!! Just approx 4 or 5 more weeks to go. Crossing my fingers for the free battery. :)

Get it in May, have it sooner, win.
Get it in June, free battery, win.

It still pisses me off to no end that they are privately telling people these are shipping while we can reasonably deduce that is not the case... (again I am a top 5 "holiday gift" backer). IF they are kicking down a free battery for preorders they should certainly do the same for IGG backers that have been waiting over a year and a half

Yup, I don't get why they keep going w/ that line either, seems kinda myopic. I'm choosing to interpret the free battery message as all backers are getting free batteries, plus pre-orderers up to the last shipping revision a month or so ago.

So I've mentioned it before in this thread but I'm going back to school so I've been broke since February. I've been wanting to get a Pax 2 since it came out (discretion, durability, and minimal external parts is essential to me) and need to get a great portable vape before October (wedding, long trip) but have to wait for a few more weeks before I go back to work.

I was so sure, 100% positive I wanted a Pax 2. But then I came across the GH and fell in love... and then I read this thread. I've been pouring over any information you excellent people provide, as well as getting a kick out of the humor in here, just waiting to hear positive news so I can choose between a P2 or GH.

This last update has me very excited. If they get units shipped and the reviews (both from normal, everyday users and seasoned reviewers) indicate it does everything GH promised it would then I will be more than happy to drop the cash for a Ti, couple extra batteries, and a SS case without hesitation.... luckily by then I'll likely have done a few 60-90 hour work weeks so who knows, I might just buy a box of batteries....

Oooo, I wonder what the battery boxes look like....

Hope my May 1st prediction doesn't become a June 1st one...I'm guessing I'll be using my GH for fireworks on the 4th of July (Maybe:shrug:)

And...NO boxes in the latest update...but they did grace us with a Bin...

Interesting. Looks like coming up with kooky speculation is hardly an FC thing. ;)

This quote on the article pointed at an important distinction:

The rancor is due, perhaps, to a fundamental confusion about what crowdfunding really is. On one hand, a backer is not a customer, because the product does not exist yet and may never; Kickstarter is constantly reminding its patrons that the platform is not a store.

So in terms of GH, I get what the backers are and what their "rights" are, but what about people who pre-order? Are they customers or just another kind of backer? If pre-orders are legit customers, then the company would be obliged to deliver to them, and not the backers? Just trying to figure this out...

Edit: Also, if I have to pay more down the road as a regular customer, I'm going to want to know how much of my added cost is due to GH giving away extra batteries to early birds (which wasn't part of the original plan/cost). Not sure I'd want to eat that cost because they got delayed even though the backers deserve the compensation.

Hearing the way that company treated it's backers, I feel SOMEWHAT better about the whole Grasshopper team. They're vague, but at least they haven't stopped communicating at all
