The Mighty/Mighty+ by Storz & Bickel

I think i'm getting better performance using the Mighty plugged in. Like the Crafty, it charges on and off as you use it. I'm now starting to wonder, instead of hurting the battery, perhaps the a/c power takes some strain off of the battery?

I would like to know as well. Only used it plugged in once since I'm still not sure if it wears the battery down.

It doesn't charge the battery while the heater is reaching temps, but after its stable it will (or should) resume charging. I use mine plugged in whenever it's dead and I wish to use it

Personally I avoid to charge while using. I do anyways if I'm in need or the battery died in the middle of a session, too. But I prefer to use one of my other vapes, like the (always fully charged) crafty, or hopefully soon the MV or even the herbalizer in near future. Thx to a few PM's I have VAS for some new desktop vapes. ;)

Not saying you won't feel the power drop as soon as if you wouldn't charge while using. But it has to wear down the batteries faster if you (ab-)use them more. There was a long discussion about this somewhere in the thread. But since we aren't sure if there is a true power management or not, I guess it's only a thing of believe or not believe, until somebody comes up with more detailed information about this from s&b. Some members here elaborated very good on "charge-through" and what this means for battery life cycle, even if this still isn't a proof for charge while in use could harm (or not). Since I'm a heavy user I have to charge several times a day to not run unexpected out of batterie. The last 2 battery bars are my biggest fear when not at home!
An interesting question could be: should I better drain my batts to zero when the battery is just about to die in the middle of a session or better use it plugged in for the last few puffs (although the "best" way is simply stop vaping and let it charge at least half full)

Edit: @biohacker my heat up times are pretty much the same than yours with both devices.

@fatbiker , better do the exact opposite. Don't charge while in use and don't be concerned to let it plugged in for a few hours after its fully charged.

For those of you that like to vape intermittently throughout the day, how do you use the Mighty for that purpose? I understand it's combination conduction\convection which means it's always burning your herb while powered up. If you just want to take a couple of good draws and then leave it alone for a couple hours, what's the best method?

Do you turn it off and take a couple of long draws to quickly cool down the chamber? Or can you just turn it off and trust the device not to waste too much of your herb?

This is actually a great question, I'm also a sipper during the daytime but definitely enjoy being heavily medicated prior to bedtime

I'm not a big fan of taking a couple of draws and turning it off. When you let the material cool and then heat it up again, I find you never get quite as much vapour out of it compared to getting through it all in one session. Smaller loads would be better. You might be better off with a convection only vape if you want to take a hit and put it down for an hour IMO.

I agree completely. While you can restart a session, it isn't quite the same. Better to use a smaller load and finish it. Or get a convection vape for your quick indoor medication needs.

I split a lot of my time between a couple buildings and keep a convection vape plugged in, and on, in each building. Now I need a place to secure my mighty when I'm out on my tractor or lawn mower.

I do not know how you finish a session. My weed produces always vapor. It gets thinner and thinnger, but basically it is unstoppable. I always let my ABV cool down to vape a week later.

I bought 4g two weeks ago, vaped it away in 4 days and am reusing the ABV since the last 10 days, it is still producing vapor and I was vaping at least twice a day in that time.

I did a lot of research on care of Li-ion batteries. They don't like high heat. Charging and discharging their battery at the same time puts a higher heat load on them and can lessen battery life. It's not like it will crap out tomorrow but it is not good for maximizing the life of the battery.
S & B says it is safe, and it is safe. It's just not going to give you maximum battery life.

It would be different if the AC charger directly powered the heater BUT it charges the battery with an input load while the battery is simultaneously discharging with an output load.

Wow, I'm impressed! That is some efficiency. I've been growing my own for years, and I forget.

Does anyone have any pro tips for removing the bottom screen in the heating unit?
I have tried several different ways with no luck and the screen is in definite need of replacement.

You just have to hook it with something sharp and curved, like a dental tool. I use a Skilletools Sharpy. Some people are using safety pins, and other materials (a fish hook would work) bent into shape. Anything that you can make that looks like this and allows you to get a grip on the screen will work . . . You will notice that the screen is set into a counter-bore down there and once liberated comes free easily.

I use a little pick. It gets easier after you get it a couple times. And clean screens really do make the vape run better. My first change out was hard because it had gummed up pretty bad. Now I change it out before it gets that bad.

Only taken the screen out once and damn was it a bitch. Ended up ruining the screen. Used a safety pin. Hopefully the next go is smoother.

I just can't get enough of this vape....I have some tasty kush strains I was sampling last night on 185c and that taste was awesome! The airflow is so nice and effortlessly, and I have finally come around to loving the filling tool like many of you. Worked great in the passenger seat of a car yesterday! No mess!

So happy I bought two of these for $399 when TorontoVaporizer had their sale. It's back up to $469!

Does anyone know why my glass water tools stay clean with the Mighty? I've never experienced this before with any of my other vapes!

I'm also not really digging the pad with shatter....seems like there is always loss/leakage to the sides of the bowl that I can see when I remove the pad. Started dropping a bit right on top of flowers...getting better results I think...

Funny thing, I heated up my mighty to 210°C on an empty bowl, took 2-3 puffs to heat up the CU, removed the "Mighty"-Logo-Seal and opened the CU while the lower half was still on the mighty. scooped some gooie oil of the CU, put the end of the tool with the oil into the ABV box and scooped off the ABV/oil mix on the end of the tool into a new container. Then put that miniscule amount of oil/ABV into the mighty, oil pad on top, turned it down to 195°C and vaped. WHITE WALL. :)

Average daily use: 0.287g
