Before the video came out:

“I believe once the community hears all the facts of this shooting, they’ll have a better understanding of the circumstances surrounding this investigation.”

“Shots fired, and the subject is down,” he said into his radio, according to an incident report. “He took my Taser.”

Slager “felt threatened and reached for his department-issued firearm and fired his weapon,” his attorney added.

Just a few bad apples guys nothing to worry about ;)

"And what is the city with at least 10,000 black residents that has the single largest proportion of missing black men? Ferguson, Mo."

1.5 Million Missing Black Men

For every 100 black women not in jail, there are only 83 black men. The remaining men – 1.5 million of them – are, in a sense, missing.
Among cities with sizable black populations, the largest single gap is in Ferguson, Mo.
North Charleston, S.C.
, has a gap larger than 75 percent of cities.
This gap – driven mostly by incarceration and early deaths – barely exists among whites.
Figures are for non-incarcerated adults who are 25 to 54.
In New York, almost 120,000 black men between the ages of 25 and 54 are missing from everyday life. In Chicago, 45,000 are, and more than 30,000 are missing in Philadelphia. Across the South — from North Charleston, S.C., through Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi and up into Ferguson, Mo. — hundreds of thousands more are missing.

They are missing, largely because of early deaths or because they are behind bars. Remarkably, black women who are 25 to 54 and not in jail outnumber black men in that category by 1.5 million, according to an Upshot analysis. For every 100 black women in this age group living outside of jail, there are only 83 black men. Among whites, the equivalent number is 99, nearly parity.

African-American men have long been more likely to be locked up and more likely to die young, but the scale of the combined toll is nonetheless jarring. It is a measure of the deep disparities that continue to afflict black men — disparities being debated after a recent spate of killings by the police — and the gender gap is itself a further cause of social ills, leaving many communities without enough men to be fathers and husbands.

Perhaps the starkest description of the situation is this: More than one out of every six black men who today should be between 25 and 54 years old have disappeared from daily life.

“The numbers are staggering,” said Becky Pettit, a professor of sociology at the University of Texas.

And what is the city with at least 10,000 black residents that has the single largest proportion of missing black men? Ferguson, Mo., where a fatal police shooting last year led to nationwide protests and a Justice Department investigation that found widespread discrimination against black residents. Ferguson has 60 men for every 100 black women in the age group, Stephen Bronars, an economist, has noted.

The distributions of whites and blacks
Most blacks live in places with a significant shortage of black men.
But most whites live in places with rough parity between white men and women.

regarding the bmore stuff going down right now and the cancellation of oriols games... great stuff from the COO of the club!!!

http://ftw.usatoday.com/2015/04/orioles-john-angelos-baltimore-protests-mlb

just to make it easy.... its quoted below

"Brett, speaking only for myself, I agree with your point that the principle of peaceful, non-violent protest and the observance of the rule of law is of utmost importance in any society. MLK, Gandhi, Mandela and all great opposition leaders throughout history have always preached this precept. Further, it is critical that in any democracy, investigation must be completed and due process must be honored before any government or police members are judged responsible.

That said, my greater source of personal concern, outrage and sympathy beyond this particular case is focused neither upon one night’s property damage nor upon the acts, but is focused rather upon the past four-decade period during which an American political elite have shipped middle class and working class jobs away from Baltimore and cities and towns around the U.S. to third-world dictatorships like China and others, plunged tens of millions of good, hard-working Americans into economic devastation, and then followed that action around the nation by diminishing every American’s civil rights protections in order to control an unfairly impoverished population living under an ever-declining standard of living and suffering at the butt end of an ever-more militarized and aggressive surveillance state.

The innocent working families of all backgrounds whose lives and dreams have been cut short by excessive violence, surveillance, and other abuses of the Bill of Rights by government pay the true price, and ultimate price, and one that far exceeds the importances of any kids’ game played tonight, or ever, at Camden Yards. We need to keep in mind people are suffering and dying around the U.S., and while we are thankful no one was injured at Camden Yards, there is a far bigger picture for poor Americans in Baltimore and everywhere who don’t have jobs and are losing economic civil and legal rights, and this makes inconvenience at a ballgame irrelevant in light of the needless suffering government is inflicting upon ordinary Americans."

that shit is on point!

I just want to know what happened to that guy while he was handcuffed in the back of that police van. Someone has to know but no one is saying. Lets forget the fact that he was arrested for making eye contact and then running from police and focus on how 80% of his spine was severed and his windpipe crushed while in police custody.

Jack of all trades, master of none.
By dropping their knees on him to subdue him. Police do it a lot, don't they? I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often.

one would think this, but it happened AFTER he was already cuffed and in custody. or so as i understand it.

sounds to me like they did a number on him when he was completely helpless.

The thought of the Crypts and the Bloods merging into
1 Super Gang , has been feared by the US government
for a Long time now . Forging their Nefarious resources
together , they can potentially become their own tactical
army in a civil war .

The mantra ' Black Lives Matter ' can make this
into Reality ...

really? or are they just saying that?

i ask because i dont see how any type of super gang or even revolutionaries can even can worry the gov like in the past. its not like the citizens have the means to fight back anymore. no amount of guns can prepare you for the weaponry the gov has access to. drones, robots, etc...

i laugh when i hear gun owners say stuff like they will fight the gov if they ever came for their guns. this would be a bad move as the gov will crush you. back in the day things were dif in that regard. nowadays...?

americans dont stand a chance against them.

To that point, the argument is that a lot of 2nd amendment supporters are also military and LE personnel, thus an executive order to breach said constitutional amendment would be met with resistance from within as well as from the main civilian population. The argument also speaks to the thought that there shouldn't be substantial inequality between what civilians and LE or military can acquire.

But I digress...

Re: that news piece, lol... and there you go. Admitted gang members denied committing crimes (on TV!). Cops lie every time, and they dont. Case closed.

Not saying the original message was true, because we all know LE tends to err on the side of caution... however holding that news piece up as some sort of proof is somewhat backasswards.

BTW did anyone ask how it is these guys on the news speak for every gang member in Baltimore? They must have one badass memo system. My company should take note, those TPS reports always have the old cover pages on them.

I'm sorry, I must have missed it. Exactly where in any of those articles and memes do they prove that the "gang truce" is a non-violent endeavor, like you suggest in your opening comment?

cmon man. so you saw gang members committing crimes on TV? really? which ones were gang members? lol

that video is of the black male residents (gang members or not) of bmore trying to tell everyone watching from afar that they are being portrayed incorrectly. and they are. and it intentional to make them look like animals. that shit is all over the place.

they didnt say the cops are lying... they said the media is lying. and it IS.

oh yeah and cops do lie all the time. i know this for a fact. not all cops do, but its likely more than you would believe. ive ended friendships over their bullshit.

I'm not saying one side is true or not. I'm pointing out the (what should be) obvious irony in taking a gang members word on something, especially if the opposite would incriminate himself and or his friends.

As for the media, they picked up the story from official police posting.

Saying the cops lie = "the media" in this case.

COPS lie all the time. The FBI just issued a mea culpa about their hair analysis:

The Justice Department and FBI have formally acknowledged that nearly every examiner in an elite FBI forensic unit gave flawed testimony in almost all trials in which they offered evidence against criminal defendants over more than a two-decade period before 2000.

Of 28 examiners with the FBI Laboratory’s microscopic hair comparison unit, 26 overstated forensic matches in ways that favored prosecutors in more than 95 percent of the 268 trials reviewed so far, according to the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL) and the Innocence Project, which are assisting the government with the country’s largest post-conviction review of questioned forensic evidence.

The cases include those of 32 defendants sentenced to death. Of those, 14 have been executed or died in prison, the groups said under an agreement with the government to release results after the review of the first 200 convictions.

This revelation came about very recently from the unraveling of Ed Edwards AKA Mr. Ed, probably the MOST prolific serial killer in our nations history. He was the Zodiac killer in San Fran and murdered over 600 people all over the country in his life long career, 66 years total, of murder. One of the things he did was not only kill but he then set up innocent people to take the fall and used hair analysis to do most of it.

More on Mr. Ed here: http://coldcasecameron.com/

Citing outlier cases in no way denotes "all the time". I'm sure if I look enough I can find stories of gang members acting like upstanding citizens. Doesn't change the statistics.

To insinuate otherwise is a very big tell regarding bias here.

Thats a terrible example for multiple reasons. That said, we can see lies on both sides in that case. Without gettign too detailed as to which lies were more egregious (as we both know how that will play out), how exactly does this invalidate my original point regarding the credibility of gang members denying participating in crimes?

@t-dub regarding your edit... you realize not everything you read is true, right? I udnerstand it's nice to have fanciful dreams which tie things together neatly in a pristine box, however you really need to vet your sources a bit better before making peoclimations like "this guy was the Zodiac killer and fooled everyone" when it's far from clear that this is the case (among many other inconsistencies). It would probably behoove you to get multiple (credible) sources on such a topic before coming to such conclusions, especially if they fly in the face of standing cannon or fact.

This probably goes double when the majority of your information is coming from an autobiography written by a convicted mass murderer who was already sentenced to die. I just might be willing to believe a gang member over this individual.

And now the circle is complete.
