I put a small layer of flower in the GonG, then 2 half-BB sized and flattened bits of crumble, lastly a small layer of flower. Heat soaked for 15-20 seconds at 8. I took 3 very strong hits, and 15 minutes later I am messed up. Extremely messed up. Played a video game for a few hours, realized I couldn't function for the most part, so took a nap.

This is also my favourite method that I picked from others in this thread. I was wondering though, doing this sorta scortches the bud (usually within the first hit), which makes sense since I usually go 6.5 for bud but crank it up to 7.5 for concentrates. Any way to avoid this, aside from loading less green?

Also, hadn't clicked that carbed gongs could be a game changer for water, thanks to whoever mentioned it a couple of pages back!

Hey all! I've been meaning to get some picture posted for a while, but I've been crazy busy recently.

Here's a sneak peak at my first two prototype Nano-Tools for loading and stirring your Nano.
(@$un I know you were asking for pictures of these a while back)

These were both 3D printed in steel (the diamond teeth version has a gold finish, and the scoop is polished bronze finish)

I'm pleased with what was printed, and I learned a lot from these prototypes. Between the millstone and the diamond teeth patterns, the diamond teeth pattern works way better. Although honestly, I'm going to remove the center post and adjust the teeth slightly.

The scoop is a bit too large, I'm going to try scaling that down slightly. Moreover I'm going to merge these two pieces into one design (the best of both). I need to modify the design and upload to shapeways for reprinting, and wait another 3 weeks for them to process my order. Really can't wait until I can 3D print metal objects in my studio!

For good flavor starting out with good flavored medicine is essential. I haven't tried my nano with water but I will try it out soon. I've been using temp around heat level 6 to 6.50. Still learning about this wonderful vaporizing tool.

As @ataxian always says cannabis is the holy grail.
That tool looks great @Ratchett

Nice job man! Too bad my order already shipped lol. I'll have to grab those next time.

You should advertise them as 'log vape' tools. I bet they would work for the others too. Just my opinion.

I'm new to this, but my thought is that the flower is basically sacrificial. You'll release some of its actives, but it's toast almost after the first hit. I understand its purpose to be to hold the concentrate in place and prevent it from seeping through the screen into your bubbler.

Carbed is the only way I go with water pieces now. Whole new experience, making everything very simple and streamlined. Also easier for friends that have never vaped/used the enano.

@Ratchett - very interested in that piece. Agreed on removing the center post.

Edit: @BoogerMan - Going to look into those pads. Thanks.

Count me in on one of these! Nice design @Ratchett

It should work great with other non log vapes too. I can definitely see myself using it with the lotus too :D

Thanks! Indeed I made those teeth a script so I can generate as many as I want in whatever shape/size/configuration I want. I've even got a special version planned for vapes like the Alpha Vape with a center heating post

I'm late to the party, but when I do concentrates with the E-Nano, it is incredibly efficient.

I will encase a chunk of hash/oil/wax in a bit of organic cotton. This is the one is for a GonG with the glass screen to act as nothing more than a platform for the cotton.

Inevitably, some oil drips down through the glass screen, but I simply use that same cotton ball and a tool like a poker or chopstick to soak up any dripped oil.

This way, the reclaim is picked up fresh and tastes fresh.

In fact, with this method, I've never actually cleaned this glass screen GonG. It's pretty much self cleaning.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I can savor a dab's worth of wax over 20 minutes or more, so efficiency is as good as it gets.

A pea sized piece of cotton or so. bb sized amount is good. dial set about 1.5 or 2 notches higher than whatever you use for a medium temp flowers. For me, this is about 8-8.5.

The first few hits result in melting the wax. Stir it around to try to saturate the cotton ball. And the reclaim process I described will further saturate the ball.

When that ball is fully saturated, it blows some crazy thick clouds.

And of course, play with it.

At one point, I was using two pieces of cotton ball that I had spent extra time forming into little pill shaped discs. One on the bottom, wax on top, and then the second one on top. Then I would swap the discs around so the top one became the bottom and got saturated. That was an intersting and workable sysetem, but now i just do one big blob.

Edit: with clearly increasing breakthrough pain and not wanting to take additional (allowable) narcotics, I'm going to go ahead and try out this new shatter I bought the other day but sort of forgot about, as I've been in a flowers kind of mood lately.

Now where is that favorite hash oil gong of mine. . . . . . ????????

Edit: Could only find a brand new adjustable GonG. So I decided to do the 2 cotton pellets for science and to give immediate real work feedback on today's topic.

76% THC Blue Dream shatter. It came like little amber gemstones sitting in a sandbox of diamond dust crystal. I took two bits of cotton and work them with my fingers until I made two little pills/discs. One went on top of the clean metal screen. The other had a few of those shatter gemstones worked inside it.

E-Nano set to 8.5 and left it on to preheat for 15 second or so. Took a few hits until I saw milk and pulled out the top cotton pellet. I pulled it apart a bunch of times like taffy to really break up the gooey stuff and spread it throughout the cotton.

In this case with this particular oil, it all stayed inside that top cotton, so no scrubbing reclaim steps. Subsequent hits through the saturated cotton were thick and rich and overwhelming.

Also, I took a break from concentrates after 4/20, so now, for no other reason but to make sure I give the best possible advice based on my actual immediate experience, I'm now more baked than I've been since my first dab in the Dabulance last weekend.

Also, my new washing machine sounds like a landing flying saucer, and that's cool. Oh my. God I'm so high.

The nano came this weekend! 2 day delivery and is beautiful! Still trying to figure it out. I guess my biggest problem is with my herb blowing out of the gong when I remove the nano to clear my piece. I have a d020d bubbler and prefer to use it but find it awkward to hit/clear. I have a much easier time with my larger weedstar bong.

I think I have calligulas 2 hit technique down for smaller loads. Still playing with the basket depth and load sizes for larger sessions. Burnt my finger once on the glass trying to adjust the silicone sleeve right after a hit.

I'm a bit apprehensive about leaving my unit on all day on weekdays when I'm at work. Especially since I came home from the gym last night and noticed it had fallen/got knocked off my coffee table.

Continuing reading through the thread. At page 180ish right now.

I did notice that some people had really nice aromatherapy cups with handles. I tried looking around and saw the Underdog cups but they don't have a handle. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Nice work @Ratchett smaller than I was expecting, which I think I like! How thin is the tip of the spoon? Would these two pieces be sold as one?

The spoon was a bit too 'large' for my needs (could probably fit 0.75g of ground herb in the scoop!). This morning I scaled down the scoop size by 25% and made some slight changes to the tool over all (By the way, the new name for this tool going to be the "Scoop-N-Stir Vape Tool")

I uploaded this design to Shapeways which it surprisingly sailed through the automated review process without any design issues. Placed an order for a stainless steel version of this today, estimated shipping is next Friday:

Assuming I'm satisfied with the results, I will enable ordering from my Shapeways store sometime in May (I'll be sure to make an announcement and share a link)

@Ratchett that would be sweet if you had some way of not losing it. Like fitting it in the aluminum stands or a key chain or something.

Not saying it doesn't look sweet. I find that the epic works very well at stirring if you stick it in the load and spin the load. Not sure how well your mixing end works but great idea.

I use a small dowel to tamp the load down, after that it stays in place fairly well, then in mid session I stir and retamp the load down. Works for me, I'm sure you'll find your own way. I use the same dowel to set the screen and herb to the ideal location, for me, about the width of a nickel from the heater.

You have to take the GonG out of the pipe before you stop drawing. I use my Pinky and pull the nano and the Gong off in one piece, clear, then replace and remove the nano from the GonG.

This method works for me, but you have to be careful not to burn yourself / brake the gong. I've ordered a gong with carb from Joda and I can see how this could improve the experience and be safer for the gong.
