Custom Glass Ideas/Designs Thread

That looks like a looooot of water to move around...

It looks like it functions really well, but I can only assume there'd be a fair amount of drag on it?

I wasn't entirely interested in it, but after seeing the function, and the fact that it looks like it's actually a decent size, I'm more interested :brow:

Yeah it does look pretty chuggy, but this is a $400-$800 JM Flow that looks nearly identical.
I've hit a real smaller one and it is so smooth and flavorful.
It does look like a great size, but unfortunately I've learned that it will still be smaller than we think.

WHY CAN'T THE JOINT BE STRAIGHT LIKE THIS?!?!

@Ratchett That's funny you should say that because I sent a message to CCG last night asking if he would consider making a batch of these recyclers with 18mm female fittings.

My thoughts were that it would be a good piece to use with a vape since:

1) The joint is straight with enough clearance for a Cloud or LSV(other vapes are available).

2) It is a decent size (24cm to top of mouthpiece) to be stable while attached to a vape but the actual recycling volume isn't too large because of the chamber at the bottom which should keep drag to a minimum.

3) I'm hoping this will make it suitable for log vapes as well since you won't need to be drawing at a fast rate.

4) The dry chamber would also keep any vapes attached safe from any possible water due to back pressure after the hit.

5) It seems to have a neat little vortex (check video at 1:05)

6) It's priced at a rather attractive $40.

I also thought by simply getting him to change the joint without redesigning the piece it would stay at that same low price and ready sooner.

Although I was considering asking if he could maybe flare the mouthpiece a bit more and make the base slightly larger so it came flush to the intake pipe. This would mean the centre of mass of the vape would be over the base thus avoiding any possible tipping issues. It does look pretty stable already so I'm thinking neither of these would be a game changer.

Maybe if we got him to drop the accessories then he could make these improvements while keeping cost at that same $40 mark.

I'd love to hear people's thoughts on this as you guys really seem to know your stuff. Please say if you'd be interested as I feel the only way to persuade the sellers to make these recyclers with female fittings is by showing there are potential customers who want them.

Just a quick update, I received a message from CCG earlier saying:

"Hello my friend
Thank you so much for your message.
We will ask the factory worker to make it, and we will post it in our store when it is available.
For more questions, pls feel free to contact us.
We are always at your services.
Thanks & Best regards!
Cynthia"

I then sent a message back suggesting that they widen the base slightly and make sure the joint/intake is vertical.

Very cool. The piece looks like it vortexes nicely too. Looking forward to seeing the 18mm female version.

Just posted this in the open source glass thread about the new steven "taurus"
Thought it would be relevant here too (sorry for the x-post)
So umm, terminology clarification question:

Is taurus a more widely recognized glass term for the shape of the rig?
Or for the function of an incycler?

Because if not, IMO with the changed perc, it's no longer a taurus knockoff, it's simply an incycler...

I mean, It was never gonna have the exact same snowflake perc, but all along the way it looked like the exact same perc design just with dumb tiny holes instead of some slits (I don't know why steven kept producing prototypes with those tiny holes?) in the perc.

Now all of a sudden, it's changed to an entirely different type of perc (which now looks kinda like a showercap, but with 4 holes instead of slits - I'd actually be interested in it again if it had a bunch a slits instead of those 4 holes)...

So I mean,
If it doesn't have the perc design of a taurus, (no longer a showerhead, its a form of showercap)
and it doesn't have the body style of a taurus (no little hourglass style dips at the middle of the can)
It's not a taurus?

On a similar note, it's like the pillar rigs - the matrix pillar has absolutely nothing to do with peyote.
The "peyote" part of the "peyote pillar" name comes from the perc.
Without that perc, it's not a peyote, any more than my mini pillar is a stemline...
or my D020 is a matrix
or my honeycomb A/C is a frit
yadda yadda yadda...

I know it's kinda nitpicky, but all the time I see people who aren't too into glass coming in and asking questions, and being all mushy with the terminology is only gonna confuse things for people...

EDIT:
Just make sure to specify in the purchase comments whether you want the neck to come out of the top of the can, or the bubbler style neck.
The video is of a bong style matrix pillar. I don't think Steven has posted this bong matrix pillar yet.

The one in the video is different than the bent neck one (whether you request the neck coming out of the top or the side, it will still be bent).

I hadn't noticed that... :)

Still, that's the only matrix pillar listing steven has up that I know of, so I'd just send him a message to confirm how to order - I've already ordered my bubbler style one, leaving a note in the purchase comments that I wanted bubbler style.

Steven has 2 matrix pillar listing. I just purchased the FC-1000 (Neck out the back) it's on page 6 I think.

Edit: Neck from the top is the FC-707
yeah, I just had another look and theres 2 listings (I always search by recently added so the 707 fell to the 2nd page...)

I asked steven to remake the Fc-1000 video with just enough water to cover the matrix perc, so there is no initial filling of the pillars needed before the bubbling starts, and he said ok. I'll post it here when he sends it over.

Whoever ordered one already, you should post your reviews in here, so we have the whole start to finish process for this piece. It's finally becoming a reality, after all these months.

This video is a little better. There is still the initial filling of the pillars before it starts bubbling, because there is still too much water for it to bubble immediately, but it looks awesome, and we can just put whatever water levels we want anyway. The function looks amazing.
