hmmm. There goes my theory of filling the dome and inserting it into the bowl, trapping a small ground load between the screen and the bowl, thus keeping it from falling into the heater. So the screen's purpose the way you describe is simply to occupy space, make the bowl smaller?
Lol I do that actually. Much easier though to just cut a screen round like the stem and then press it in over the load. The only lame part is needing a poker to get it out. But yeah I also double screen my Solo stems.

But now I need to pack some trenches, got an itch for the LB that my Solo can't scratch!!

Hey, morning Y'all!

Recently I've noticed that if I charge one battery (glyph) instead of two on the mflb charger they last WAY MORE if i charge both batteries at once. Is my charger in bad shape or is this normal to happen? When I charge both batteries I get about 1 big trench, and when I charge only one, I get two trenches..

Cheers and have a nice day!

I have just unboxed a MFLB, never tried it yet but one of my batteries is not charging up, I put them straight into the charger when I unwrapped them, so Im not off to a great start it would appear, is this common?

Depending on the charger, yes that happens. This sounds like an extreme case to me, though. If they behave differently charged differently, it's not battery.....

The best chargers are ones that thread each battery as a separate unit. Allowing individual settings for each. Basically no link from one channel to the other. At the other end are chargers like ship with Persei and Omicrons, basically a simple single channel charger with two sockets, there the two are definitely linked.

I use (and recommend) the Powerex (Maha) C9000. There are other, less expensive units with fine reputations as well, but I don't know them personally.

Bummer. No, not common at all, but also not unheard of. A while back I read a report on such early failures (it seems many also fail in manufacture/test before shipment). IIRC the number of 'infant moralities' (less than ten cycles?) was under one percent, but it that's the one you got that really doesn't matter. This is a big issue for the guys that make battery packs, a single bad cell kills the pack.

Contact MF, I'm sure they'll make it good promptly. They too know it happens sometimes.

Enjoy your MFLB. Remember, grind well cured bud fine, never fill over the rails, use freshly charged batteries and shake, shake, shake between hits. Follow good results, better ones follow naturally.

Best wishes.

I would try the batteries in FB first. See if the FB is alive and working. I`m not 100% sure but i believe my batteries had a little power when i unboxed them. Empty them before the first charge. MF says that a FB could safely get as hot as holding a hot cup of coffee. After cleaning with alcohol i use the PA@max power to blast all remaining smell away, sometimes i do this for a couple of minutes. My FB still looks clean and no problems so far:D

Thanks for the replies so far, ill test the unit first and get back to you and then go from there.
I just remembered that i have a shining new:drool: FB that i never used, only tested with the PA to see if worked. It`s my backup but i never used it because my first FB still works great.

New FB, with battery, never charged, cap went never off. ~8 months old. Both batteries gave the same result.

Unfortunately now you still don`t know if the FB, the batteries or the charger is the problem:doh: but it is likely that all new batteries are empty.

Does anyone know if magic flight takes custom orders? I know they have some neat woods available in the artisan collection. I would love to get my hands on some tiger maple or even better, purpleheart.

Send them an e-mail. Custom orders will be expensive, but if you want special wood and a logo or name on it, why not? Client satisfaction, and making beautiful original products are important to them.

i hope, i'm not confusing things here, but i believe to have read in one of the threads here, that purpleheart wood is toxic. so this option might be off the table.

Congrats!

Lay off blazing for a couple of weeks and see just how nasty and repulsive smoking is. I won't say that's what everyone finds, but there sure aren't a lot of folks who 'only blaze occasionally now'. Lots of them report turning down social offers with non believers.

Once your body gets used to the idea of getting loaded without the poison and grief, who can blame it for wanting to go back.

You get to save serious bucks on herb I'd say average is 1/3 to 1/4 former. Yes, I do mean if a gram lasted two days smoking, it'll likely go a week vaping. Seriously.

And you get to live longer to enjoy it all the more. Such a deal.......

Welcome to a better way.

I totally agree.

Ok, so I have tried the LB and I have got it working fine but this battery thing I'm really not sure about, it appears only the right side of my charger is showing a green light and not only that I had a red/green flashing light for one of the batteries as well, on top of this I'm scared I may overcook a battery if I leave it in too long if its not going onto green mode as the battery is fully charged. Both batteries do seem to work but I'm not sure yet if its just the charge I got when its new or both are actually charging up good or not.

So you followed the packaged instructions and its not working? The only thing to do is return the defective gear (I think 90 days on the charger) if it is under warranty or replace it out of pocket if not. The contact address is CustomerService@magic-flight.com. If you need to replace the charger out of pocket I have had good results with the BC-500 Battery Charger from La Crosse. Good Luck

Hi,
I have some problems with my warranty Launch Box. I submitted a warranty claim in february and my packet wasn't delivered until now. It was sent back to the US and is now for more than 20 days in transit in Jersey. :(

I think the problem comes from my side, because I had to give MF the address of my local head shop (for some reason I can't receive it at home). But I gave them my full name, so the name on the mailbox is not the same as the one on the packet. At this time I believe, that UPS didn't deliver the package, because of this reason (they think the address is wrong).

Now my question, because my old Launch Box get's even more destroyed from time to time:
What can I do to receive my package as soon as possible? Should I write the name of the head shop owner on the package (he has to agree of course), or can I tell MF that the address is correct and UPS can deliver it the next time? I really don't know what to do...

I contacted UPS as the package was "On vehicle for delivery", but they wanted to get in contact with the shipper, before they do anything. Then I wrote an email to MF's warranty support (his name is Hobbit?), that they should get in contact with UPS, but I just got an answer like "everything is fine, just wait some more days".

I'm really pissed now, because the screen is nearly fully torn on one side and I have no other vaporizer if it get's completly damaged.

I hope I get some good answers from the community or Magic Flight itself :)

The name on the mailbox shouldn't matter, the address on the envelope is what they use. Why did they need to contact the shipping party of its already out for delivery?

You can give MF another address, but always agree with owner of the address first that he or she will receive your packet for you. A name on mail or packets does not matter, it`s only for the receiver, in case there are more than one people living at the same address. I can order anything i want and use the name "King of the Netherlands" as long as the postalcode and address are right, i will get it. No chance that the real king will get my mail or parcels:lol:

You can call UPS and ask for a status update. Or buy a FB in a local shop, use it when your old FB breaks down, and sell the new one that you will receive in x weeks/months, on ebay or so. Yes you will lose some money but you won`t be without vaporizer, and you learned to never fill in another address without contacting the owner again;)

Ok, so its definitely one battery that's not working because I got the recharger to work and charge until green on both sides for the one battery that works, and given I charged the batteries as soon as I received the MFLB its not something I broke through misadventure or stupidity on my part after using it for a period of time, I guess I will contact the company directly and go from there, being in Australia never makes these things easy to fix unfortunately.

Truly unfortunate. My first thought is contact MF and get the replacement on it's way. Secondly you might look for one of the recommended alternatives, Pak or someone with that information will have to provide/confirm but I think these are one of the recommended types.

Unfortunately I can't verify my shaky memory since I've cut the labels off. You too would have to peel at least the first 3/4 inch or so (the part that goes into the MFLB). While not as good as the current 'glyph' battery, these guys are what was used before they came along. Still solid performers and no doubt easier to get 'down under'.

Best of luck getting some backup batteries going, it's not nice when your only battery poops out before you're done......

Thanks, yes, I'm really not sure its worth my while trying to chase down a single battery from the USA when I can simply buy one and make my own by stripping the coating off, so if anyone has a suggestion of Aussie brands that are the same as the MFLB uses feel free to let me know as I may as well buy a few as back up.

I called the owner some days before the package arrived, that it's from me. Maybe he thought it will be a normal parcel, not just an envelope....
I gave MF the address and state/province in english and I shortened the street name to xxxxx Str. 30. I don't know if I should give them the address in english or german (because I live in Germany).
What can I do next time, to prevent problems? The packet was a long time "On vehicle for delivery" but just one delivery attempt was made. I really don't know what I can do. And as I contacted UPS via email, they wanted to communicate with the shipper first.
Can I submit another warranty claim, because MF will get the box back? I would have the new one a lot faster, if I don't have to wait till the first one arrived at MF.

@OF is correct, the best brand if you can get them is Maha Powerex. Get Imedions if you are an infrequent user, or the 2700s if you use them every day.

Most if not all of the major brands will work, but perhaps not as well. For a long time the LB shipped with Sanyo Eneloops, which you probably can find. See the Batteries section on Vaporpedia [vaporpedia link removed due to malware].
