sooo, my Haze can containers came in the mail today! some pics to see what they look like and their size.

The cans and stem fit well, similarly to being in the Haze to take the cans out your gunna wanna use the little tab, as for the stem, using something to poke it up a little or turning it upside down while blocking the cans seems like the ways to get it out as it is a bit difficult to just grab it while its sitting in there.

They feel pretty sturdy and don't seem like they'll just open up on there own. When closed the cans are pretty much on the top so they don't rattle but if you have a stem in there it will a little bit, not a lot but does move and sounds kinda like a tic tac in a small container lol

Just got home and figured I'd throw out my initial impression.
Awesome job @Ratchett

Awesome! Glad you like them @vapebuddy13!

I'm still perfecting the print settings to increase print quality. But I'm pretty happy with the cases. I didn't want them shaking around loudly.

I was thinking about having my friend design some sort of hilarious legit-looking vinyl sticker for case - "IV:XX Breathmints" in an Altoids design style

I'll be re-activating the can-case listing on my store in several days once I've caught up on my existing orders from my 420 sale.

the sticker thing would be perfect lol
as far as the shaking if anything a little cloth padding can be glued over that area and would prob nullify the sound... I might do that, tho I probably won't have a stem in there too often in which case you don't hear anything.

New to vaping, got my haze about a month ago because of its flower vaping abilities. This thing is awesome. No ashy taste, no smell, it's just great. I tell every head I know about it lol. I can't even stand the smell of my old one hitter any more after getting hooked on this thing lol.
Couple small things though, the battery cover likes to come open easily when the unit is shaken or bumped, really makes me paranoid about losing a battery. And unless I clean it pretty much after every use, the mouthpiece sticks in the hole and will only come out using the tweezers after it's heated up. I now just take the mouthpiece out after using each time rather than go through that hassle. Not a huge inconvenience but still. Anyone have any tips for dealing with these issues?

I'm thinking of adding Haze to my collection. Massdrop has it available on a drop. Am I allowed to lists the price? It is under $180. Seems like the Haze is worth it.
Just saw this too, not sure what the rules are about posting links but at that price I'm considering picking up at least one spare.

Talked to Haze earlier and they said they would honor the warranty and upgrade on that deal, tempted to buy my second and I just got mine but a purple would make the wife happy

@puck77 I tend to clean it a bit less and can still get mine out, just have to really shake it out enough to grab it but luckily its easy enough to just swab it to clean and loosen the area up! I haven't experienced the same with the battery area, are you sure you are closing it all the way?

also for stem sticking issue... once @Ratchett gets his can cases back up for purchase on his site you can grab one and just take your stem out and keep it in there after each use :p

Welcome @puck77 and congrats on picking up the Haze! Your issues are well documented and shared by many (including myself). I know they are working on the mouthpiece design and I suspect they will come up with something different on the battery door as well.

Regarding the massdrop deal. Having a second Haze is never a bad idea (I actually own three ) but you might want to check if they will cover the 10 year warranty that Haze offers. I'm pretty sure Haze won't be covering that warranty. Most manufacturers in the vaporizer world don't cover the massdrop warranty. You also might want to find out if that unit is eligible for the Haze/Pay-it-Forward Program. In fact since you already have a unit you might consider putting the money you would spend on a second unit towards that instead. $100 covers unlimited upgrades and there should be a revision around the corner in no time. The best part of this deal is your old unit goes toward a person in need!

EDIT: Strike my comments on the Massdrop deal. Maybe they are supplying that campaign directly from them rather than a wholesaler. Once again, Haze amazes!

@vapebuddy, I'm pretty sure it's all the way closed, just seems like it wants to pop open. Are you able to shake out the mouthpiece when it's cold or after it's heated up? A case would be handy, it (the mouthpiece) tends to get lint stuck all over it if I put it in my pocket lol

@scott, thanks for the info about the pay-it-forward deal, that's pretty cool. Any word on what's in stock for the update?

Got my Haze yesterday. Two observations: I really liked my Pinnacle Pro. The Haze kicks its ass. Wow, this thing rocks. I did notice a few mechanical issues though. First off the can chamber door is quite difficult to open. Seems like a strange design for a medically designed device that patients with arthritis may be using. Theres no latch button and the design seems destined to eventually wear out and loosen up. Secondly the screens dont fit the cans properly to the point that I can not fit the cover on the cans with the screens in place. I could cut them down a bit but I thought Id check and see if there was something I may be doing incorrectly before I went nuts with a pair of scissors. Last but not least, the batteries seem to have a very short operating time. They came charged so maybe they were not fully charged. Ill find out more once theyve been through a few charges but Im sure Ill probably want a few extras for road trips and such.
Anyway, the Haze seems to be the portable vape Ive been looking for its smooth and extremely effective. It definitely does the job! The issues Ive seen are minor ones though I do find the door issue a bit troubling. Ill definitely be investing in the Pay it Forward program, life time upgrades seems like a no brainer to me. Awesome job on both FC and Haze for putting that together!

The screens are to use if not using the cans, not with the cans which is why they aren't fitting inside :p
and I believe they come with a slight charge (like most electronics) but is supposed to be charged fully before actual use

You are welcome. Not sure if you noticed but there is a link to the Pay it Forward Program in my signature. Check it out for more details on what happens with the donations. Uncle @Vitolo is doing some damn good work and the love there epitomizes this community.

Regarding the updates, well I don't think there has been any official word but there is a rumor that Haze is addressing the sticky mouthpiece. We will all be waiting in anticipation for any other news but rest assured the Haze team will continue to take our feedback and incorporate improvements into future versions. For this reason it is important that users in this forum continue to share what they like and what they don't like. No sugar coating please!

Hey y'all, so figured id see if the screens fit in the can container and turns out its a can container for a reason lol. Both screens can fit in but doesnt really come out all that easily. The convection screens can be put in decently (if you double up it still fits and allows the top screen to be removed easily) but the conduction screen is a bit different. Its a bit more annoying to get in there and a lot more annoying to get out, ends up getting a little distorted bc it doesnt really want to come out.(would think it would fit and come out easily if stacked with a convection screen but didnt try)
figured Id throw this out there incase people were curious

Ah, the instruction manual wasnt clear that the screens were meant to be used separate from the cans. That makes sense. When I opened my Haze I initially put the batteries in the charger but both showed a full three lights on the charger. I only got two solo vape sessions out of one battery ( about 15 minutes each )

So what seems to be the preferred method for vaping flowers with the Haze? Cans or screens? It seems like screens would be messier but likely produce heavier clouds. Is that the basic difference?

@rshetts, I noticed the same thing with the door at first, not sure if it loosened up a bit or if I just got used to it. I found a particular hand placement while holding/opening does seem to help - I hold it with my palm on the battery side and pull up on the lid with my fingertips and it opens easily without flying open and scattering the contents.
I can generally get through 4 conduction screen cans of dried flower on level 3/4 out of one battery charge, definitely need to be sure they're fully charged though.
Edit: I did not mean screens *inside* the cans when I said "conduction screen cans" ;)

yeah lol, its for different methods (convection, conduction) and then the cans are meant for oils/concentrates and such but also work great (as convection? #imanoob)
as far as preferred method is is subjective as they are different so if you prefer conduction over convection you would use that screen, I personally am pretty new to vaping so wouldnt know the best for clouds (though I think it would be the conduction screens) but yeah the screens would be messier in terms of the oven, technically I think it would be just as messy, difference being its contained in the can vs the screens and oven chamber.

as far as the batteries go I wouldnt trust any battery/indicator on a first charge really. I believe the manual said its best to charge them overnight for your first charge and to let the batteries(in general) charge an extra hr after 3 solid lights

I pretty much only vape flower, and pretty much exclusively with the conduction screens. The convection screen was too messy but other than that I didn't notice a difference between the screens. I use the cans sometimes for a mix of wax and flower but in general I feel like it overcooks the flower. I put the screens in empty and fill them using the "shovel" end of the tweezer tool. I start on level three and go to level four when the clouds get thin. When I'm done I use the tweezer to remove the screens and empty/brush them out. When done like that the screens aren't messy, but for travel or on the go it'd be a pain and pre-loaded cans would probably be better.

Thanks everyone for the great information! One more quick question, are there good aftermarket replacement batteries available? Im thinking a couple extra batteries and a nice carrying case would be fantastic for when youre out and about.

Others have tried 18650 batteries from other makers but Haze does not recommend this.

Haze themselves sells two types of batteries so you might want to take a good look at those.

The XL batteries make a world of difference in performance. It takes little longer to charge but lasts way more. They are using custom protection circuit on the batteries. I assume any protected battery would work technically but I would not risk the performance or the unit.

I work in a vape shop with access to a bunch of different 18650 batteries and none of them work, Haze has a chip on the bottom that makes it a tad longer than a normal 18650, as much as I hate to pay full price for batteries I'll be sticking with theirs. Also I had the same "pop open" issue with the battery door when I first got it until I realized it was my fault not the designs, you have to make sure you push the door down and slide it back fully

oh and pick up an Efest Luc v4 charger if you want to charge quickly, mine charge in about 30mins from dead on a 2amp charge

Cool thanks again. I checked real quick on the Haze site and they are still accepting the FC420 code. 2 spare xl batteries came out to $24 Not bad at all. If you need accessories for your Haze, you may want to jump on that while the code is still active!

Regarding the battery door, I noticed the same thing as well. Its all about how you slide the thing back. It will lock if you do it correctly.

I dont know if Haze still checks this forum but if they do I would recommend that they make the next models oven door with a button latch or something because with the basic snap it in to lock it set up, the door can be very difficult to open. Its not a deal breaker for me, more of an annoyance but as I mentioned, it could be a deal breaker for someone with arthritis or tendinitis. Just a though.
