Great Movies You've Seen Recently That Are NOT New Releases..

@StickyShisha Yeah, it's full of big name actors. I feel like this movie didn't have a whole lot of marketing, was kind of under the radar. Yeah this movie does not feel a lot like a Spike Lee "joint." Which may honestly be why it was so enjoyable... I would recommend his other movie 25th Hour, that is my favorite by him. It's real gritty and Edward Norton does his thing in it; also I quite enjoy ex-football player/current announcer Tony Siragusa in the movie as well.

@RUDE BOY that is one of my fav movies too. I watched it about 6 months ago on the TCM. I just love the Beatles. I remember originally watching as a child with my mom at the theatre.

You guys probably don't like "Gone With The Wind" but I watched that the other day on PBS, I love that movie.

yeah it's odd but my oldest complete memories are when the Beatles were on the Ed Sullivan when I was 4 and my older siblings going Beatle crazy. They didn't take me to hard days night but i remember seeing HELP! in the theater, another favorite.

It's funny how the Beatles performance on Ed Sullivan is such a place holder for our generation. Nearly everyone remembers it. Even many who didn't see it. :)

I was about 9 and I remember going to school the next day and EVERYONE was talking about it, and announcing their favorite Beatle. The rebels always went with Ringo... :)

I watched Moonstruck last night. Great movie. Only Cher on vid I really enjoyed since her TV show with Sonny, tho Silkwood wasn't terrible...

I saw the "Woman In Red" last week. It's from 1984, so it's older. But well worth watching again. Gene Wilder is the main character and Charles Grodin is the friend. Kelly LaBrock is the female - the woman in red. Gilda Radner has a small part.

in this case you maybe should check out Paulette. the premise is vaguely similar and that grandma is so bad. :) couldn't find a link to a trailer in english, but i'm sure there is a subtittled version of the movie around, because this is how i watched it. rewatched Samurai Fiction the other day. still enjoying it.

Just saw "Saving Grace". If ya haven't seen it, check it out. It's right up our alley.

It's only a year old, so I hope this qualifies lol. I watched edge of tomorrow last night and thought it was a pretty good take on the ol' groundhog day/sci-fi time machine genre. Seeing tom cruise being humiliated and getting the shit kicked out of him/killed over and over was definitely one of the best parts. Bonus points for emily blunt doing most of the kicking/killing; lost one of those point because she kissed the troll.
