Hey all I just got my air (wow this thing is smaller than expected) and something hit me, this is the first vape I bought with out thoroughly going through the thread, between work and university I've been pretty occupied, so fellow vapers I have favor to ask of you: does anyone feel mice enough to fill me in on any useful information/ "mods" that the community has figured out. after exams I'll read thru the ~200 pages but in the mean time if you'd be so kind to fill me in It would be extremely appreciated.

Vapefiend has these available now, i can't wait to see if they are worth it!!!
Order placed. Hopefully it won't take forever to get to Texas. Will post my thoughts after my first session:tup:

I posted here earlier about this but it was moved as i mentioned another vape i ordered at the same time,
And just called it micro bubbler rather than Arizer air stem:doh:, so i can see it looked off topic (sorry mods)

Im in the UK so should have it at around 11am (UK time) tomorrow if my reliable post man is as good as always (can set your watch by him), will post initial thoughts then.

I have one of Vapefiends new all in one bubbler mouthpieces... and I like it. It works very well, and even with such a little amount of water - it conditions the vapour to the extent that you can pull pretty large clouds on higher temps without much dryness or throat irritation.

There is a fill-line decal on the glass, but in honesty I found the marked level a little too high so I fill just under it. Filling is also a little bit fiddly, but I have been using a mini funnel to fill with more precision / stop water over filling and dripping into the bowl.

Once your water is in there, it pretty much stays in there. It's by far the most portable and discreet water tool I have used to date.

It' looks basically like this one earlier on in the thread:

That is they both have the same trap built into the top to stop spills. With mine, I take advantage of that feature and fill upside down. It will drain to the level set by the trap, in my case a safe level to bubble with. Fast/no drama. Have you tried that?

FWIW I flush it this way too to prolong use before cleaning (which I do by immersion).

Looks fun.

Cheers.

A cheap alternative to a new water tool would be to wet a cottonball and stick it in your stem. It should help hydrate the hits.

Edit... That all in one stem looks awesome!

Thanks for the feedback @Carl Hempel. Can you carry it in a pocket or bag without spilling?

Also how do you deal with dumping, refilling and cleaning between bowls?

I just ordered with free shipping to NY. * Edit sorry shipping is between $7.00-$10.00 *

( $48.14 Total shipped ) After exchange rate of 31.21 :(

IMO that warning is just to cover their asses.

Just in case you break the glass pushing to hard and slice your wrist open.

Hey @OF, thanks.

I think most of the cooling comes from time, not contact with the water.

I'm with the 'warm is better' bunch.

If I were smart, I'd patent a swirly stem for the Air.

If I were smart and talented, I'd patent a swirly stem with a tiny tiny pool for warm water at the bottom, maybe angle the stem a little, too.

And maybe I'd make them in a nice selection of colored glass...

Is it only 29 euros so that's $31 US dollars for the little bubbler for the Air?

It's showing up for me as $35.83 + $10.44 for shipping to California = $46.27.

Yeesh, maybe I'll wait for PIU to get it. That free shipping and 15% discount...

Welcome the the wonderful world of UK prices:mental: This is what we have everyday :disgust:

It is only £24.17 then tax puts it up to £29, sounds better in £ than $ :D We do get free shipping here though:clap:

And i really wanted one never been good with self control  ,i like to think of it like for £29 when i was smoking that would get me 60 cigarettes (3 packs of 20) so two days and they were gone, I'm hoping this should last a little longer:tup:

I was talking more about the ten minute warm up time wich would be a full session.lol

Once the unit has reached the set temperature.... How does letting it sit at that same temp longer help the stem fit better? I can understand a minute or 2 but how would 10 minutes help more than 5? Max temp is still the max temp after either 3, 5, or 10 minutes right?

Regardless, at this price, and with extended warm-ups "possibly" needed, requiring more battery power... Id DEFINITELY be going with the one OF uses.

But im not sticking ANYTHING with water on top of my Air... My luck with glass is about as good as my luck with the lottery.

No, not really. It's not stable until the entire oven area reaches normal temperature, the insulation that saves us battery power makes that slower. Yes, the cup (the important part to making vapor) is at temperature in a minute or two, but not the entire oven.

Think about a sheet of material (for ease of discussion here, consider the composite as a single uniform plate). As you heat it, the atoms all vibrate more and more (the definition of heat at that level) so each 'needs' more room. Every atom moves further away from every atom, it expands.

Now, think about a ring cut from the material. As it gets hot the outside obviously expands, but the atoms still need to move away from each other so the hole gets bigger as well. Still with me?

But, as it heats from the inside out the hole is trying to expand faster than the outside, but it can't because the outside is strong and constrains it putting the inside in compression (forcing it to expand slower). It's not until it reaches full temperature everywhere that the final hole size becomes available. It's not going to take 8 minutes 25.5 seconds or anything that exact, the ideas is to wait 'plenty long' for the initial try. I agree, 10 minutes is probably a safe number?

This brings up a fun technique sometimes use for things like big gun barrels (like aboard ships). An 'interference fit' a slightly to big OD sleeve and slightly small ID jacket are made. This means the precision rifling is done on a thin tube, not the whole barrel as normal. Then you heat the barrel body (making the ID bigger), seriously freeze the inner tube (making it smaller OD) allowing you to quickly slip one inside the other. Once at the same temperature (which they will be forever after that) they're locked together like nobody's business. Precision bearings are often fitted this way. Some even have to be cut up to remove.

Fun stuff, at least to a few of us geeks.

I've got a couple questions. Just got the air a few days ago and love it. But how long should I wait to put the top cap on after turning it off? Also do I leave the cap on while it's heating up? I've just left it off during heating. Last one: how long should I wait to put the cap on top of the stems? I usually wait a couple minutes. But I'd rather just cap them immediately and set them aside. They get extremely hot.

With solo I used to leave it capped to heat up and cap whenever I wanted to. I never had a problem. With the air I took the cap off so idk. For the caps you should buy the arizer silicon caps not the vinyl ones, its rated for high heat

Don't have the cap on the Air while heating up. I would wait until it cools a little to put the cap back on.

Do you mean the rubber caps or the mouthpiece? The rubber caps that go on the end of the stem? It should withstand heat after its turned off, it really depends on how hot the end of the stem is?

They have some rubber caps that can withstand like 450 degrees and others less like 250 degrees I believe. If I were you and you don't know, I would wait a few minutes before capping. They cool off quickly. Plus you don't want to burn your fingers.
