I know that some of you are interested in my impressions, so I regret to inform you that Jessica did not arrive with the screens I need to use her as intended. I've managed to improvise, but I feel that I need to use the stems as intended before I can share any opinions. The screens are in the mail. Sorry for the delay.

I would suggest you begin with a bit of understatement, but as it is out of your control all we can do is wince. I get your desire to only report "as intended" use at this point.

@RastaBuddhaTao come out and take your lumps. We are setting up the paddle gauntlet for ya. ;)

What can I say I did a ton of testing to generate the temperature profile curves that day and I my brain was somewhat lacking oxygen:). @pakalolo if you have screen, a block of wood, a sharply, a drill and drill bits I can walk you through making a nice one. If you have screen, scissiors and fingers I can walk you through making a satisfactory one. Guessing you should get the screens on Tuesday based on the prior shipment.

Latest session report. I came up with a spreadsheet to make keeping track of the parameters easier. Something inherent in the product testing of this device makes it hard to remember it all after the fact.

Hopefully this format is a bit easier to follow than the previous one as well.

All cycles were well timed and consistent by using the analog windows desktop clock. 25 total seconds per cycle, 10 seconds power only, 10 seconds combined power and draw, 5 seconds draw only.

Session began with a single, dense, unprocessed sample about the size and color of a single soybean.

tried to duplicate, did a little better even. I'm liking 25%

and that's it for this whore for a bit, a big glass of water and some sunshine sounds nice. If you're into these weird nerdy stat posts, I'll keep it up but when you're sick of them just say so.

Is there a "standardized" reporting method already that I should be adhering to? If not there ought to be. I'm just kind of winging it with this method, which is kind of cool, I wish I was craftier with spreadsheets, I'd plot some curves of this vs. that but it ain't-a-gonna-happen today!

Your effort along these lines is greatly appreciated, TKW. As you say there being no standard makes it hard to compare to other vapes, but is very illustrative of the capabilities of THIS vape.

Actually, your standard might be a good place to start trying to be objective about this. Anyone care to try and use this standard on the miniVape and/or the Mighty/Crafty? I would think these might be fair competitors in the same class... (assuming you wouldn't mind if we used your standard)

One might want to try and quantify "Thick Cloud" with a level of opaqueness, but that would be hard.

Heck no I wouldn't mind! Maybe the "session map" standard should be it's own topic somewhere eventually, a central place for people to browse sessions and daydream about the possibilities...I'll let you forum heavies figure that out just let me know what I can do to help.

I was trying to come up with other parameters to capture and all I can think of that might help with comparisons would be battery level before and after session. Doing that "per cycle" is ridiculous without a rig setup to make that automatic. Hard enough to stay focused on these 4 already, and two of them are gimme's!

For me, "thick cloud" means that one that I look at and think "awww, I wasted a lot there"

These #'s and performance sound like the Zion is right there with my favorites.I'm using my ascent almost exactly like you are the Zion.Start on the low end of tmp for flavor finish strong and hot to complete my session.I'm definatly liking your research and results TKM.

Edit: @cybrguy thats fucking awesome you have already thrown that up and with as much thought that you did. This could really be a very valuable tool for the whole community

You don't seem to be using a lot of battery life either. Looking good. What number would be fully charged batteries? (Thanks for adding that spec)

Well as my mom use to say "a day late and a dollar short". But I say better late than never. Meet Sid unit #1 of Beta build number 2. 10 additional units will be offered as the first of the FC100. These units will begin shipping next week after @KeroZen has a chance to review unit #1. Check your email over the coming days to see if your one of the lucky 10. These units will provide the insight over the next six weeks to fine tune the next build.

It was very satisfying seeing the first "production intent" unit. This is still a model shop build with it's minor flaws and blemishes but refined enough to supply the first 10 units... Now, who was it that I ear marked the first unit for?

Well, no offense to anyone who disagrees, but I personally think Vapes (at least MY vapes) should be female like countries, boats and cars, so if you send me a guy he is gonna get a sex change. We admittedly have a gender bias at Casa Cybrguy.

That being said, anyone you send is welcome and will be treated well. :)

And hopefully he/she/it will return the favor.

Lets all agree that there should be nothing wrong with a little name gaming going on.Hell everything we name is beloved.I feel the Zion is a great example of said beloved items. In all honesty I dont really care what name he\she has so long as i can call he\she all mine.

In introducing the new nickel electrical wire that runs from the control chip to the heater it was noted that there is approximately 1" of the nickel wire that is exposed to the flow path. Does anyone have concerns over Nickel in the flow path? How about aluminum, ceramic? Dare I say the P word?

I think Max did a study of the nickle plate he uses for the Lotus. That is a torch directly on the nickle, and his tests resulted in no greater exposure than ambient air. I'll see if I can find it...

It's on his website in the FAQ

I definitely think the less materials in the airpath, the better. But you probably already knew that.

Good quality wood, glass & ceramic give me the warm & fuzzies without a niggle in sight. No question on health & easy to maintain.

I understand however, that this may not be achievable in all situations. In depth research into whatever materials are used is obviously essential . . .

Nice1 @cybrguy :)

Nickel wire is used to make the coils in a gazillion e-cigs and oil pens, and in those it's heated to vapourizing temperatures. I realize that doesn't make it safe, but it certainly means that I'm not worried if it's used for connections in the Zion.

I got the Zion screens today and have been able to have the true Zion experience. I'll post some impressions once I gather my thoughts. Jessica has kicked them hither and yon.
