flotntoke

thoroughly vaped
Thanks all for the info!

I will definitely order one when I visit the US.
I was just wondering, what makes this vape so efficient? What is different with this vape that makes it more efficient than others?

A couple factors seem to add to efficiency. Biggest in my opinion is that you can use a very small load and get good effects (also will maintain great flavor on almost every hit). Of course with smaller loads you have to load more often. Other reasons that probably contribute? Concentrated convection heat; very short vapor path; consistent heat though whole draw.

With larger loads (some vapes can also do small, but if a big loader usually get some lesser results) vape quality will still drop off after first couple hits, but you have to keep going on it or will leave actives behind. Shorter vapor path leads to less condensation (especially when dealing with hoses), so more vapor for you - a little less left behind in the gear.

I tried that and everything else but nothing worked on this adjustable gong. The gong didn't fit too well either, maybe a poor quality gong.

Thanks

PS. I'm also in SoFL

Try stretching the whole screen. Get a dowel that is just a little bigger than inside of basket. Push it in as far as possible (should go in at least 1/2 way). Put on hard surface and give other end of the dowel a few taps with small hammer or something. Screen will now be very difficult to load from nano end of GonG adapter. Either load from GonG end (make sure you line it up with narrowing opening inside before pushing too hard), or load upside down in nano end first (top, flat side of basket in) to squeeze it down a little. Then pop it out and put it in open end first.

If it spreads too much on open end, squeeze just the end in a bit before inserting. If not, it will usually end up being too tight to adjust easily. To keep it from spreading too much, a small hose clamp can be put around screen and tightened to firm (not too tight) once on dowel. This will keep spreading to a minimum, but not really necessary.

Whatever you do, make sure you don't roll down the sides! This is a PIA to fix.

I use my screens damned near forever. Even if they work great initially, they get out of shape with removal/replacement and cleaning. Using the dowel makes them all as tight as I like.

True that @CarolKing. I am not necessarily a cloud chaser as much as I am a Flavor savourer.

Speaking of flavor, I have tried a new method. I have a high-tolerance and I like to hit the e-nano dry because I love trips to Flavor City but I LOVE to pack a fat bowl! SO heres what I do:

  • Grind .2
  • Make sure screen is set to 1.5 " from top of glass stem
  • Nano at 5.75
  • STUFF herb in so its sits as flat as possible (it can get to be kind of hard to draw on if you stuff too much)
  • Rip away!
  • Stir after 3 hits
  • Finish
I get brown AVB through and through with this method. I think it has something to do with the herb being stuffed so tightly and drawing pretty hard on the nano.

Wow, seems like a lot of work. I actually think it was a poorly made gong. It does not fit properly on the Nano end, too tight getting on and off. It also seems like the path is consistent size, no narrowing on one end to catch screen. I am going to try the glass screen gong and add a ss screen to catch grind.

Do Joda glass gongs work any better that the Epic gongs? Any other place to get gongs or stems? DHGate?

Do you let the nano sit 10-15 minutes before using it at 10 or at 7? (edit:I don't plan to keep my nano on 24/7)

When taking a Nano over to a friend's house, I will crank it up to 10 for 5 minutes before dropping it down to 7. Typically when I do turn off my Nano for extended periods of time, I try to fire up my Nano at least 10 minutes before I use it so it has time to reach temperature.

The trick to any log vaporizer is letting the wood soak up the heat (Look back about 3 months ago in this thread for my FLIR pictures of the Nano's heat signature).

Joda glass is a different category from standard EpicVape glass. His glass is hand made with plenty of options to customize it to your fit your style. I personally only use Joda Glass with my Nano, and have no intention of going back to EV glass.

Is it better or worse? I can't say because I haven't ordered any new glass from EpicVape in almost a year and I believe the manufacturing process has changed since then.

I've been very happy with the glass nano stems, but i've always treated my log vapes as more 'one hitter glass pipe' style then water tools.

However, something shifted recently - while flavor-chasing I began to stir a lot more often, which means I'm clogging screens a WHOLE LOT more often. I end up throwing a stem in iso after two or three loads. Is there anything like the glass stem but a bit more forgiving in terms of maintenance?

edit - these are the adjustable screens. my grind doesn't do so well with the all-glass.

Glass disc fixed GonG's from EPIC are the best!
Medically speaking of course!

I prefer the adjustable gong/stems. Especially with ground or dry herb.

I picked up a used ssv and I've been using a fixed screen stem as a wand for the ssv, until a wand from 7th floor comes in. I noticed there is a lot of herb in the whip that passed by the fixed screen. So now I am just ripping a chunk off buds now and stuffing it in rather than grinding. But I think the hits suffer a bit without grinding.

I am sure the Joda glass looks great, how's the fit? adjustable screen or fixed screen?

Using an adjustable Gong on a WT is a "one hitter"...a nice heavy hit

Picked up my Nano from the post office this morning.Felt like a kid on Christmas morning sitting in my car opening the box. The first thing I noticed was how small the unit itself is,and then started thinking about the definition of "nano"and it all made perfect sense.I like the weight and hand feel of the unit, feels heavy and quality made.Got an extra screen in the 5 pack which was also nice.Shes only maple,so not the prettiest bell at the ball but looks don't dictate how it functions so I'm feeling really good about my purchase.Going to test drive her tonight with the adjustable 18 mm gong and D020 D and will report back.

Random question, does epic require signature confirmation in the US? Some things delivered to my town house disappear so anything of real worth I ship to my folks place and pick it up on the weekend.

Kind of bummed I missed out on the 420 sale but I decided to go ahead and splurge and went for the koa. My mflb, orbiter and I've recently noticed that many things in my kitchen are already pine and to be honest it's getting a bit old.

Edit: talked to Nadia, turns out the koa is out of stock, she hooked me up with a different type of wood so I'm pretty happy! Don't even own the thing yet and her customer service was way ahead of anything I've experienced from arizer and magic flight.

Get an RMA from the website and I'll send you a new one from a new batch of glass I just got in.

Thank you, I just got off the phone with Nadia who is taking care of the RMA.

We are really fortunate to have Andy and Nadia on this forum, not only is the Nano a great vape, but also to have a company that is willing to stand behind their products, and provide good customer service.

Thanks @ACE OF VAPE

Taking my first hits off the Nano..
Right off the bat got an unreal hit direct. Not so much luck with water (glass screen). Ill keep trying dont worry hahaha.

Curious how many cloud and evo owners (I have a ticker and an Evo) switched or picked up a enano, and what their reasoning is for using one or the other?

I still think the herbalaire adapted gave the gnarliest hits ive ever seen...

Really like the soul this has, and its creater clearly has. Tastes great too.

Edit.. patience is a virtue, just got a big water hit.
Seems like this is pretty smooth, possibly one of the least painful big hits... Time shall reveal all.

Funny, I was the same way at first. I'd abandoned water all together for a couple months, my glass collection staring at me made me feel bad. So I gave it another go and had much more success.

Maybe I just had to get the overall nano technique down (screen placement, heat setting and load size).

Picked up a glass j-hook for the nano from all the recommendations and it has become my new favorite way to use the nano. Long enough to cool the vapor and still get great flavor! $15 from eBay cheap too.:peace:
I've recently done the same based off some pictures someone posted in the thread and feel the exact same way.

Also pairs great with the AC01 bubbler off dhgate!
