It does appear that a product similar to ours will no longer be available outside of North America. Time will tell as things do change fairly rapidly concerning some products.

If anyone from OZ or NZ is interested in MZ only, Email me. I also have a standing offer to turn non Americans on to how these things are made. Drilling wood, making all the parts, fabrication tricks etc. I really have been surprised for a long time that you guys keep relying on Americanos for this style vape. They are simple and relatively easy to make. You will need more than woodworking skills though.
My main concern is availability of this style vape in this part of the world. Decent vapes are few and far between around here, and we all know how experiences with cheap pieces of crap can actually turn people off vapourization entirely. It seems pretty clear that vapourization is one of the forces countering the Drug War, as smoking is frequently cited as one reason to keep cannabis criminal. It is, after all, the most harmful factor in weed consumption. And I want to see laws around here change.

I recently got a PD, but now my friends won't be able to. If you can ship your units this way, Rick, then that's great to hear. But if you're offering, then sure, I'd be curious to know how to make one. :) I believe the original Eterra patent is online somewhere, but I have yet to see it. I was never going to pull apart my solitary PD and reverse engineer it.

I do have an old friend who has probably all the equipment needed. He's primarily a metal craftsman, though he could probably do the wood too. He'd be more than happy to let me potter around the workshop and tinker. :)

This is the first time I've posted at FC. What a great resource! After many threads and long hours of reading I decided to purchase a MyrtleZap.

I received it today, and it's a real beauty! Rick did a wonderful job. The service was outstanding and it got here fast. From order placement to my mailbox took only a week. Thanks Rick! :)

I'll post some pics after I've applied a few more coats of oil and let it burn it a bit.

I'm ZapHappy! :D

Thanks Hennessy.

I spent a few minutes cleaning the coffee off my monitor after I burst out laughing @ your metaphor for spanking a PD.

Dooby doo lad. Glad you read the forums. I could tell reading your first post anyhow. ;) Your collection will soon grow, pretty much ANYONE that signs up to FC is faced with that 'dilemma'.

Email me if you are interested in info and parts related to making Zaps. Ours is of course the old Eterra design, no fins or anything and we do use brass.

How's it going now, did you have to get it fixed? You should be getting vapour on the first stem, Is it still warm on the outside?

You may be right Hennessy.

I think I'll be cool with my MZ for some time, but I admit I've thinking about an ABV vape too.

I was just woken up this morning by the sound of my cat pushing the myrtlezap off it's bottom shelf and onto the floor. It fell about 9 inches onto the hard floor. I just checked it and it looks to be perfect, what do you think rick, anything i should worry about?

Madcap Laughed,

No problemo Madcap. They can be dropped worse than that and be just fine. All the internals are soldered with silver based no lead solder so they take that stuff pretty well.

I would not try throwing it out of a moving vehicle though. It might get run over.

I think it still works much like it always had but it seems the creep facotr takes a while so I think it is not working but comes up later. still it does seem cooler to me but I think it has to do with the fan running and cooling it down. still think I might try the can cooler trick to see if it improves thigns some.

I got a coffee grinder that helped a good bit for me. i am getting vapor but still not seeing much of it which is due to lighting I know

it is sitting in my room with the ceiling fan going which might be cooling the outside and making me think it is cooler on the outside then before.....just a false alarm on my part

OMG, Ms Myrtle Zap! Another first! Glad our little girl is keeping your your girl happy. Most of us know that if we can keep the woman happy somehow, that is our best shot at the same.

Thanks for all the good words everybody. Looks like this thread is staying relatively calm. That's a good thing. I want to encourage us all to be nice over here and talk about any subject that relates to AZ/MZ.

I do have a new batch of Myrtlewood coming next week. My wood guy says he is figuring out how to get me just what I want. He is cutting up root wads and crotches. Incredible art in those chunks of wood.

We have had incredible success with the Myrtlewood, especially since we began turning them in January this year. Myrtlewood has varying densities with some of it very hard. When we first started Myrtles with the old square Zap design, they would occasionally run on the cooler side of the vapor heat range. With them round now and missing about 20% of the wood, they are spot on. That is the feedback we have been getting from customers new and old. We still have some old timers that will continue to love the softwood original as they run at the top end of the vapor heat range. They know they will not last as long as the hardwood but keep coming back for them. Some like their vapor right below smoke.

I also want to thank the moderators. They have a tough job to do as many of us get out of line now and then. I do appreciate being a vape maker and being allowed to have my own thread, etc. Since being here our sales have picked up a bit. We really appreciate that in todays economy.
I will try to check a bit more regularly if there are any questions.

Thanks again to all.

Even if the hypothetical girl did not partake you shouldn't have to hide it. But I guess there are lots of things we shouldn't have to do. :)

My girl doesn't partake, nor does she mind that I do. It's a double edged sword. Supply lasts longer, which is good. On the other hand, if the budget gets a little tight, recreational purchases are the first to get cut. If she partook then I'm sure it would be seen as more of a necessity. But I ain't complainin'. I could be in a relationship where I'd have to hide it.

Reminds me of song verse.

My wife's got the blues
Now I've got them
Gonna bring her a kiss
Make those blues run

You're making it pretty hard not to buy another. ;)

I tell you what would be awesome Rick. a myrtle zap that is set at a higher temp to use the ABV much like the vapor genie. that would be like the one two punch. I would buy another for that purpose because getting a vapor genie is another learning process to get the CBN out

I thought root wads and crotches might get you Reese.
Seriously though, AZ/MZ will be around for many more years. No need to buy extras. Now gifts for friends, relatives, girl friends, that would be cool.

On GF/wife vaping too. Highly recommended for many reasons that both partake. What got Zaplady in 1967 after I plied her to try it(as I had just started) was the best sex she had ever had. (married in '66) so I guess I lucked out. I guarantee Aromazap would never have happened if she was not a 'user'. She actually inspired me by saying "I'll bet you could build that" after an Eterra cleared up a lung problem.

Edited re Reese Q.
One thing we will explore in the near future is a variable output transformer, about 10(idle) to 13 plus volts. Dial in your vapor thickness.
