Smoke the vaped remains?

Has anyone here ever even considered such a thing?
It occurred to me that I could probably smoke the left-overs if I really wanted.

Now, I'm of the mind that I'd rather never have to do that, and it probably won't be part of my normal routine, but I guess I'll try it some time, just for the sake of giving it a test.

Am I crazy? lol

Never done this myself because I refuse to combust. However there are people on this forum who have done just that. I remember the reports, not verbatim, but I think it was a little nasty tasting and had a subdued effect. Probably because the THC boils off first and what is left behind is altered towards the heavier cannabinoids.

Ive definitely thought and done the same before in dry times. It will definitely get you where you need to go, you will just have to use a bit more product to compensate for the cannabinoids you vaped out earlier, plus the fact it tastes pretty bad.

The buzz is shorter in intensity, and mostly a sedative high. It works in a pinch and so far the only use I have found for AVB besides just revaping it. Keep in mind this is all my personal experience, though :)

I've re-vaped lightly used material before when I am out of fresh stuff to good effect. Smoking it though... Not worth it IMO. (And I'm not against combusting on very rare occasions when the social situation calls for it -- if anything just to remind myself how nasty smoke tastes ) But seriously, smoking abv seems to me like you get all of the nasty combustion byproducts without getting enough of the good stuff to even make it worthwhile.

I would consider using lightly vaped abv as a "filler" of sorts when rolling a joint, just so I didn't have to use so much good fresh stuff... I've never tried it before, but it seems to me like a good idea anyway. I don't know if I'll ever get around to testing it though, as I don't combust at all by myself and on the rare occasions I do with friends it's usually at their house with their stash -- so I wouldn't have access to my abv to even try it out

There are so many things you can do with abv; revaping it is just one option. Edibles, tinctures, and topicals like massage oil also work quite well.

Ive tried edibles, tinctures, and the like. None are satisfying to me. However, vaping two bowls of avb for a mellow buzz, then saving it for the occasion I need a quick fix, why not? Just personal preference :) and works well as a filler for a "spliff"

I can dig it! I didn't really mean to imply that it was a bad option to re-vape abv... I will edit my first post to reflect that. Personally, I don't mind re-vaping abv in the slightest. I've never had much luck with edibles honestly (not sure if that's due to my metabolism or what... Maybe I just have to try an insanely high dose next time ) so I usually end up re-vaping my abv until it's completely spent and not worth doing anything with... I do enjoy the relaxing, mellow buzz it provides.

This is great!
Thanks a lot for the discussion, everyone. I'm glad I'm not just plain crazy on this one.

I'm generally of the same mind on combustion (hence me being here), but I still only have combustible options for my portable unit. So, until I get a portable vape, I need to deal with it.

That said, while at home, I definitely only ever use my SS.

With regard to revaping abv, do you have any recommendations for the procedure?
Usually, I sort of mix it up a couple times along the way, and then, when it seems like I'm not getting much anymore, I add crunching and grinding actions when I'm stirring it.
Doing that results in releasing more of the goodies for vaping, but it also results in a big amount of tiny particles of the herbs getting through the screen, and I assume, into me after traveling through the whip. Is there a better way....should I add a filter if I'm going to do that to it?
Also, how long can we keep the abv material sitting around? I have mine sitting in one of my JyARz (the rubber seals are way too stinky to keep good herbs in them, because of how the seal mutes the pleasent aroma of the herbs, and taints the herbs with the rubber odor of the seal. So, I've started finding other uses for my JyARz).

Before MMJ became prevalent I used to be absurdly conservative with my weed, and as I was already vaping I started to store my ABV. After any given session with a vape I'd store the ABV in a container until I gathered 10-20g which I would then use to bake with, but I tried homogenizing the ABV and revaping it to considerable success. The taste SUCKED, however, but the effect was clear and present! I've used ABV I've accrued over 6-7 months that are stored in cool, dry environments (air tight), for what that's worth.

Personally, I find re-vaping to be terrible tasting and far prefer saving ABV for edibles, 1-2g of ABV gives me a very, very pleasant high and usually eat that when I go see bands live. Metal shows are particularly mesmerizing :)

Sweet.
So....you don't just eat the ABV, right? lol
I haven't even considered making my own edibles yet, but I certainly don't have anything against it. I do buy edibles. So, it makes sense that, if I have a resource like my ABV that could be used for it, I should start looking into it.

Just off the top of your head, in round numbers, as a guestimate, what all will it take to get into doing it myself (other than the research and leaning and trial-n-error portions)?

Bud, I would never wish to smoke my ABV. Surely tastes nasty and there's really not all that much good stuff left on there. I feel you'd be realizing the effects of combustion rather than the herb itself. I put some old ABV from my EQ thru my Herbalizer last night and even then the taste was not pleasant.

I would recommend trying to make a single personal personal edible first. Fire crackers are doable and I know many people who love em. I've been saving my ABV and have thought to maybe mix it in with pizza sauce and make a pizza. Maybe put some on a PBJ, something that will mask the taste. Could put it into a smoothie or milkshake. Hell you could just eat the herb straight if you wish (not recommending lol)

I have never used or attempted to make tinctures or creams but they are both great options depending on what kind of medication you're going for.

What a great plant. Get back to us Bud.

EDIT:regarding portions for edibles, start slow. Maybe try a gram first. If that doesn't work I'd wait for a new day and try 2 grams. And so on until you find what's best for you. There is such thing as too much, hopefully you don't find that out the hard way!

I've revaped ABV in times of need (no weed), and I would do so again. I've heard of cancer patients smoking ABV in the middle of the night for pain and to help them back to sleep.

I've sprinkled ABV on peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and ate it. Not bad.

As @Rush520 mentions, firecrackers are excellent for this. A gram sounds like a good start, dependent on how spent your ABV is, that's how I make edibles for my friends with low tolerance, and even then they eat just a portion of the serving I make for em.

Awesome, guys. Thanks for all the suggestions/advice.
As for 'firecrackers', I guess I have some homework, eh?

Occasionally I will combust some ABV. For me, there is a discernible difference in buzz. I get a much more introspective, cerebral, energized buzz from vaping. When I combust ABV it puts me to sleep. When I have a problem getting to sleep, which isn't often, I'll do two ABV one-hits and it's lights out in about 10 minutes.

As for the taste of ABV combustion - I'm an ex-cig-smoker (going on a decade of being nicotine free) and used to enjoy a good cigar after having a good steak, good cabernet type of meal. ABV one-hits taste somewhere between a cig and a good cigar to me. I find it less harsh than a cig and closer to the smooth taste of a good cigar. If I had never been a cig/cigar-smoker I doubt the taste would be so acceptable. Ironically I cannot stand combusting weed itself anymore....go figure.

I like to buy empty capsules and then fill them up with my abv. Take a couple for a nice relaxing buzz or an hour before bedtime, it's good for sleep. It's easy to transport when you want to get a buzz but can't vape. Don't have to deal with making anything with it or the taste factor. Or I'll sprinkle some on a cracker and cover with cheese, microwave for a few seconds to melt the cheese and down the hatch, flavor is not so bad that way.

IMO, ABV keeps active almost forever, kind of like dried fruit.
Regular bud needs the proper humidity, not too moist or not too dry, to keep-- but ABV is not at all fussy.

JyARZ seals--I take out the top and bottom seals, hand wash in Dawn dishsoap and let them dry and sit out for a couple days. I find this gets rid of 98% of the odor but each nose is different :)
It's a shame to not be able to use for your good herbs!!
I do find that my Boveda 62% humidity packs are an odd fit in JyARZ though

Aye, filling caps are also great, I did some straight ABV as well as ABV-infused coconut oil, found the latter produced tastier burps (!) and was less irritating on my easily-irritable gut. They are a little fragrant but I've flown with them in a pill case and are a great way to help medicate on longass flights :)

So when I started vaping we (me and friends) would immediately smoke the spent remains as soon as the taste started to get toasty flavored. We saw it as a free boost to an already awesome high. These days I have two approaches. With one of my vapes I extract so completely that I don't save the leftovers. They are dark and done. Another of my vapes I do lighter extractions with. I save that spent material and then revape it in the higher temp one...Does that make sense?
But yeah, I used to smoke the bowl right after vaping it. And yeah, it adds to the high. I couldn't stand the flavor of it at this point in my life, but if you are sometimes smoking still, you can do it, and it doesn't taste as bad as traditional bowl resin. I would save that shit and smoke it when I was out of weed...jesus henry christ that was disgusting, even to me back then when I smoked a pack of cigarettes a day. Camel blue wide. Yuck.

I had a jar full of ABV at the office and not a very small one, about the size of a big jam jar. Then one of my coworkers had financial difficulties at some point and I told him as a joke, as he kept coming to me to hobbo some fresh green: "hey why don't you smoke my ABV, it's said to be potent you know!".

He didn't find me funny at first, then one day he tested it... I came back a month later to my desk and the jar was fucking empty! He and another coworker smoked the entire damn thing! And apparently they enjoyed it... so much that now every-time I vape, he comes to me and asks if he can have my "ashes" lol.

So yeah, obviously it works. But it stinks I find and taste is surely pretty bad.

ABV makes good bud stretcher, the right mix of ABV, fresh bud and heat (vape or burn) is better/nicer than a straight high temp vape or combustion hit of ABV, IMO
