Awesome man, hope you enjoy it! Let us know if you need advice or suggestions on how to get the most out of it and tricks you might teach it. :brow:

I still need to read this thread completely but I would sure take any tips anyone has for using the pup with concentrates/oils untill the herb is in. I have read about moving the screen closer and upping the power a little. It will be fun to play with. I am tempted to find my snap ring plyers though :science:

Haha you guys are in good form tonight.. must be 4/20 magic eh?

Anyone who seriously wants one of the AromaDogs for dirt cheap send Underdogette a message post haste before they're gone, we have 3 left right now I think.

@Snappo - The IPAs (and Double IPA) are a little too hoppy for me but I do like most of their stuff. The brewery restaurant is our go-to favorite for dinner and the beer sampler!

I'll leave the others to comment on concentrate usage since that's not my area of expertise but I know lots of UDs have good luck with them so it shouldn't be a problem.. might need a power boost from a VVPS though. Again I'll let the experts answer since I really don't know.

RE: snap ring pliers - Are you thinking of taking the core out to adjust the screen in the center tube? If so that's the wrong screen and it's not adjustable, the one people say to adjust is usually in the glass stems and to a less extent the nylon stems.. but mostly glass ones. The core won't come out without, even with the snap ring removed, without destroying the Dog since it's all one piece and the wires leading from it are soldered to the plug, no room for movement. :p

No, I was talking about the stem screens but I did want to peak in side out of curiosity. I am sick like that :freak:

but thanks for the heads up.

Haha.. gotcha.. no worries. On the bright side you can see 90% of everything already with the AirCore so all you're missing is the resistor beneath the center screen. :science:

::edited to add::

Alright all the Aroma Dogs are now gone!

Proud new dog owner here. Not too proud of the phone camera pic, ha. It's so tiny!

Pictured with my trusty MFLB and cup of tea. Mug was a gift the girlfriend thought was appropriate, considering I am always late and am also awesome. No disagreement on either points.

Only had time for an hours testing this morning and can't wait to get home for more. I managed to combust twice with the nylon stem - I specifically asked for a hotdog - but I was drawing very slow. Few more sessions and I'll get the hang of it.

My biggest question is about level of grind? I tried a course-ish grind and the bigger chunks were cooked a little unevenly. I'm thinking maybe just a little less fine than the MFLB grind? Ideally I would like to have just one chop bowl for my MFLB and Underdog and not two :hmm:.

Great Scott!
For concentrates with the underdog, I've been thinking how cool would it be for someone to make a QUARTZ ball that fits in the underdog gong stem. Then have a little opening to plop oil into. Then keep that side facing up and enjoy 100% convection vapor of concentrates in the underdog.

Quartz would be sweet...
Is what I use is a sr-71-74 coil gr-2 titanium works well actually haven't tried on pup.No VK just w/w 17v might be perfect?
Great in my nano.
Me and myUD have a lot of training to do and gear to get VK high on list.
Good times ahead...
Yea I don't know what happened there. Lol

I definitely see a 17v pup in my future, I'm going to feed her nothing but the sweetest shatter...

Hey Dogs, with all the 4/20 excitement we didn't really introduce any of the new 'regular' pieces that were added in that refresh so I figured I'd do that real quick before heading to the shop.

First we added some nice 'standard' (ie, high end) Dogs, here are a few of my personal favorites:

Black Locust (space pod style)

Big Leaf Maple Burl

Stone Burl (Lost Dog)
18091-160x160.jpg

There are some other real nice ones but those are my favorites, there are also a couple other nice Lost Dogs.

We also released a handful of production Air Core pieces which is the evolved version of the prototype-Air Core from the past year or two. These share the Air Core from the Econo-Dog but have our high end stainless heating element installed and much nicer wood.

Production Air Cores

My favorites of the production Air Cores are the:

Movingui (Lost Dog)

Big Leaf Maple Burl
18101-455x525.jpg

Ambrosia Maple

Thanks Dogs, enjoy!

We should have included an extension cord with your order and if you're not already using it you can do so to lower temp a little bit. If it's still a tad too hot after that you can add a slightly longer cord or you can throw a $5 dimmer between the PS cord and extension. The mini-dimmer and remote-dimmer work best: Dimmers on Amazon

The 17v Econo-Dogs do run a bit hotter than a standard Dog but I don't think they're necessarily best suited to concentrates over other options TBO.

If I were chasing concentrate clouds I'd probably opt for a standard core w/ stainless cartridge OR if I wanted a tool more specific to that goal I'd go for a hybrid Air Core that combines the features of a prototype-Air Core and the production Air Cores that are occasionally seen (like in my first post above). Either of those options pared with a good quality VVPS to aggressively drive them would be the winning ticket I suspect.

That's funny. I was just over on your site flipping through looking at your beautiful vapes in total confusion about what the lost dog is and all these new different cores.I don't know which one I want or need most next. Lol
Further down the rabbit hole...
Weeeeeeeedd!!!

I'll just take one of everything...
Who am I kidding one.:dog:

I think lost dog is a design and basically the econo 17v i s new air core on steroids and new air core is kinda a hybrid
Econo & mini are limited time
I'm confusing my self I don't know about everybody else...

Let's hear it from the master..

That's pretty good, you more or less got it:

Lost Dog - a piece that has a blemish or some small defect that doesn't affect function/performance that we sell at a discounted price. Any type of Dog can be a Lost Dog. $ - $$$

17v Econo-Dog - a limited-time, budget priced production Air Core (ie, non-prototype) piece who's purpose is to let people experience an UD at the lowest possible price. They use a resistor heating element sized specifically for the included 17v power supply which is NOT compatible with normal UD vapes (the 17v power supply will destroy a normal UD). These run a little hotter than 'standard' UDs and heat up a little faster. Designed and intended for use with the nylon and NonG stems. Limited wood types. $

Air Core - a piece with a core type that is lower in mass than the 'standard' UD type core and has an open design vs the standard core closed design. These use our custom stainless steel heating element, run a little hotter and heat up a little faster than 'standard' UDs. Designed and intended for use with the nylon and NonG stems. Limited wood types. $$

'Standard' - a piece with our standard closed core and our custom stainless steel heating element. These run med-hot and typically heat up in 10-20 minutes. These cores are compatible with all wood types, all stem types (nylon, NonG, Direct Draw glass and GonGs), provide the most diffused heating, protect the wooden body the best and are typically used in our highest-end UDs. $$ - $$$

Hope the above descriptions help and don't cause more confusion lol. Maybe we should put them on the website as nice, easy to read bulleted format or something? :peace:

Over the last 2+ years I've had my dog, I've tried from powder-fine to no-grind, and the conclusion I've come to is that the results are about the same overall. It's just a question of whether I want maximum extraction up front (finer grind), or stepwise extraction (no-grind). These days I'm lazy and I just stuff a whole nug in the stem (old-style direct draw, silicone tube and screen on glass), take a few draws, stir-crush, take a few more, stir-crush, take a few more and I'm usually not getting much vapor after that. I'm basically left with some golden-brown powder and a twig for AVB, still goodies left in there. I have taken the powder down to dark brown, but as the material gets drier and finer, drawing becomes more difficult and chances of combustion increase. Still, in all this time, I've only combusted twice. Actually, I'd find it hard to combust now unless I really tried.

Would using this with the inline dimmer with your step up step down technique counter act the downside of .5v at a time?

Hmm.. hard to say.. the dimmer modulates current whereas the battery pack changes voltage. I suspect it would work alright but adjustments might be unpredictable with two variables being tweaked.

My personal preference is to just deal with the .5v increments and use technique and an extension cord to fine tune the effective temp.

So your saying it's safer than putting an m-80 on top of your dog? :freak:

My imaginary lawyers won't let me use the word 'safer', M-80 and Dog in a sentence together... :freak:

So, while I can't comment on that aspect of your theoretical placement preferences of things on other things I do suspect that a 'standard' or Air Core Dog put in such a scenario would probably still be functional afterwards.
