Underdog Log Vapes

Hey everyone,

Long time lurker and just got around to creating an account. I've been looking around for a quality vaporizer for sometime and finally decided that the Underdog fit the bill. I picked one today made with European Plum wood and can't wait to see it in person. Everything I've been reading about the vaporizer has really got me excited and I'm looking forward to sitting down with it when it arrives.

So my question please. I see that it takes some time for the vaporizer to heat up. Has anyone tried using something like this in conjunction with the UD? I would think it would make preheating much more convenient, but I obviously don't want to lose power or have to wait even longer for it to reach the appropriate temp. Any thoughts on this?

Many thanks and keep on being excellent to each other!

Welcome to the Dogpack Nocab, your order just shipped out so you should have it soon.

Those web-switches do work well with UDs and don't cause any power loss so no worries there. That said the heat up time on your Dog will probably only be 10-15 minutes so you might not need the switch.

Alternatively like @NickDlow said 24/7 operation is ok as well.

Either way we hope you enjoy it, thanks!

Thank you, feels good to be part of such a great pack! :D

I was looking for something other than keeping it on 24/7 since I read that leaving it on will diminish the lifespan of the piece. So really I was looking to prolong its life, but also offer a bit more convenience. Thanks for the reply and that's great to know that the web-swtich is an option.

We're glad to have you and happy to be of service!

If prolonging the lifespan is a goal then you can't do much better than the web-switch.. good call.

Why not just keep the underdog at 12v 24 hours a day? It barely uses any energy.

Such a killer combo! Don't blow it up with that m-80. Bet it looks amazing with your two other OW's!

Heya, anyone out there like/use AromaDogs?

Hah.. that's funny I'm working on an Olive piece in the shop this week.
I use my AromaDogs almost every day - at home AND at work!!! I was in cinnamon heaven all weekend. Today I'm dancing on peppermint clouds! My classroom cleared sleepy heads with a mix of peppermint and a dash of cinnamon - A+'s for EVERYONE!!!

I was always under the impression that they would probably have more wear and tear from heating up and cooling down every day than they would from being left on 24/7. Am I way off?
I personally only turn them on when in use at the time. Never found any of my dogs to take more than 5-10 minutes for an adequate heat up. Sometimes I amp up the voltage and then drop down to temp, but I'm really never in a hurry with my dogs. Anyway, I think my method will assure a few extra lifetimes vs. the always on approach ...JMO.

The air ports. I was having problems with mine until I covered up the ports a tad, now it blows clouds. Also try your hammer lock on stems with a small load and let the core touch the tapered begining of the bowl. :2c::peace:
I missed your pictures and thought you were speaking of the classics slits, didn't even notice the ones on the bottom. I'm pretty quick to use my Hammer accessories with my dog. Nothing better than all glass direct draw stems and the OG hammer stem. As for clouds I've noticed my extended draws through water are the bigger issue, seems my little guy can't keep up. Love hitting it native, its always thick and devastating on the exhale.

I have however been primarily testing this with concentrates. I use a bit of the DaVinci oil can's stainless steel mesh wrapped tightly and crammed in a stainless steel tip.

Honestly suggest sticking to big dogs for concentrates, maybe one day we'll see some new breed of pups at the end of the year that can endure high heats for extended periods.

Haha maybe you're the only one!?

I decided to pull the remaining ones off the website, they weren't selling very fast and were confusing new UD users. There are 7 left, if you're interested I'll 'give' them to you for beer money.

I was not expecting to see this lil pup looking lost and just sitting at the door today when i got home!

Nice 420 day surprize!!! WHOOF!

Thanks Guys, She is warming up now!!!!

Awesome man, hope you enjoy it! Let us know if you need advice or suggestions on how to get the most out of it and tricks you might teach it. :brow:

Yes and no. In the old days I did recommend leaving them running so as to reduce expansion and contraction between the wooden body and the core as it could cause loosening and rattling. Pieces beyond the first 2 generations or so are designed and built differently so this isn't a cause of concern any longer. So now you can do whichever works best for your usage habits but turning off when not in use will prolong the life. :2c:

I always seem to get talked out of an aromadog lol but I love using my regular pups for aroma therapy. Thanks to Snappo. I love that lemongrass!!!

Certain people will talk you in or out of the damnedest things.. trust no one. :tinfoil:

What kind of beer? And how much?:brow:

Being from Chico I'd say it's gotta be Sierra Nevada.. this time of year I'm enjoying their Nooner. I think a case would suffice.

Maybe I should have shown up here and started pawning them off for $15/ea.. that would have doubled my potential beer money. Damn me, what was I thinking!

I really enjoy the Sierra Nevada Double IPA - strong bitter hops and so refreshing! I'm very surprised that the AromaDog didn't take off as expected. They are as refreshing as a nice cold beer on a hot humid day! Everyone who visits me at home perks up the moment they walk through the door, and they feel invigorated for their entire stay and leave feeling refreshed. Maybe give a little more time for word of the AromaDog to spread, IDK... I don't impress easily, but I found religion with AromaDog - go figure!
