You Must Unlearn, What You Have Learned...
Oh, it's a keeper, lol. So far it's been great.

Yesterday, the same day my stems came, I scooped up a silver surfer minus a wand. A friend knew I liked vapes and gave twenty bucks for it in a garage sale. A deal I could not turn down. That makes 3 vapes in just over a month. This VAS is some contagious stuff man! But then I guess your aware of that, lol.
You've certainly done your homework, that is quite an impressive starting lineup you have now!

Sorry to continue this derail, if your after a portable log vape, why not get a portable log vape? Cut out the plastic parts and keep the wooden beauties? Would be cheaper than the expensive Mini Vap...

Is there a portable log vape? I'm no MiniVAP fanboy and would be very interested If there was a battery powered wood log vape much cheaper than the MiniVAP.

mod note: This should be posted in Ask FC. You're off topic.

Lol

Just noticed your Log Hog tag, when did you do that? Very nice that is fitting, quit hogging all that beautiful wood! Did you just send @Snappo one of your credit cards?

Yea DieHard called me that n I thought it was very fitting lol so I embraced it.

I just gave him my bank account to charge me at will haha. At least that's how it's been feeling. Oh well you can't take every penny in the ground with you. But I can hand these heirloom vapes down for generations.

Considering picking up the Maple kit that is at 149 right now... Would totally break the bank, but the lowered prices on the unit + accessories right now has me trying to redo my budget to make it work.

What are the must have back-ups/accessories when ordering a first e-nano?
Would a single extra adjustable stem, 1-2 adjustable gongs and some extra screens be sufficient for a first order?

I like the underdog a whole lot too, especially the ability to use a battery pack, but other things seem more convenient with e-nano.. to be honest, I'm having trouble really pouring through all the data comparing the different log vapes and coming away with anything decisive; the e-nano just seems the most fool proof I suppose. I'm still a bit on the fence I guess.

All you really need is the nano itself (which comes with adjustable stem) and a GonG to fit whatever bubblers you use. I prefer 18mm, and find it most useful. Screens are pretty cheap ($5/5) and good to have on hand. IMO always a good idea to pick up a bag while already paying for shipping. Maybe glass replacements if you're prone to breaking glass, but haven't yet broken one myself. One of my GonGs I still use daily is about 2 years old.

UD is very similar but powers heating element with DC instead of AC. Other differences (mostly wood types and shapes and stems), but biggest for budget considerations is probably added cost for adjustable temp. Cheap variable voltage supplies can be had from China for less than $20, but the better VVS' cost a good bit more. By the time you get into a custom VVS with battery power, you could be looking at a cost close to that of the vape itself and a few months waiting time.

Most of the VVS' have a voltage readout so you can set voltage at exact level every time, and monitor changes. But, adjusting with dial included on nano cord seems sufficient for most to dial in temp and keep it constant. You dial setting (6.25 usually for me) may be a little different than others, but when you set it on that spot it will be the same every time.

I would be using it both directly and with a WT, however much more often the latter I imagine. When out of the house, I have an Air I can carry on me, so its not really critical for me this purchase to be especially portable... however, I do shift from desk vaping in the morning to the living room in the evening, and then back again late night- so the less pile of crap I'm moving, the better. As far as I'm concerned though, just about anything log vape has to be better than my EQ set up in terms of bulk/glass to be moving around the house. Battery power on the UD is nice, but I got the Air for exactly that situation, so its not something I really need.. Thank you @flotntoke for all the detailed info there, and also just for pointing out that the VVS is an added cost with an UD, I hadn't considered that.

@MayaMayhem...also dont forget to register an account on epicvape site so you qualify for the lifetime warranty!

Just finished that up a few minutes ago.. Its fine if the email account is different than your FC username, right? It looks like product registration includes space to write down FC info so I am assuming that is where you would go after getting the e-nano, and fill in your information etc.. to have your account upgraded to lifetime warranty?

At the moment, I am just thinking stick with single stock stem, 2x 18mm adj GonGs (as I am prone enough to glass breaks that I should def have a backup there), and 2x packs of screens.

Yes, OK if your email is totally different than your FC username.

If you move around the house, you may want to pick an additional cord. Know there are a few who have a couple cords ready to go when they take their nano to another room. Not sure how necessary it is, but if your receptacles are tough to get to I could see how this would be very handy. Edit: DOH! Don't know how I missed seeing @Reflections saying the exact same thing in post above, but you get the point. I must need more coffee!

nano on a water tool is very nice indeed! Think you will really enjoy it. Please be sure to let us know how you like it.

I noticed when the unit tips back because the cord is heavy it doesn't topple over. It just sits back on the cord. I'm paranoid that I'm going to break stems. They seem really sturdy, during the sale I'm going to order a couple more. I think I will buy a couple of the (unremoveable) honeycomb glass screen stems. Also an extra Epic pick, the little tool. I have a 25% off code (when I signed up for a warranty) can I use that for accessories at any time? Maybe I should save it and use the 20% off 4/20 sale. Decisions!!:hmm:

Managed to move around/borrow enough to make the purchase... Came to ~185 shipped, with 2x 18mm GonGs and 2x screen packs. Very fast response time from EV, with shipment note & tracking info in my inbox just a few hours later.

So excited for this one- I got an Air due to a need for something portable, the e-nano is what I've had my eyes on for months, and expect it to be my new daily driver...

A couple weeks of posting, one sale, and I've already caught the VAS bug
