Arizer Solo

Welp, my Solo just went literally loopy. has this happened to somebody else?

Looks like the battery is shot to me. Does charging seem normal? How was the battery life before, normal?

I assume this is a new version and that's not a PA you're plugging in. But it looks to me like you get just enough charge into the battery to support the Solo for a few seconds?

Well, it was working just fine this morning and after finishing a bowl, I put it to charge and it did fine until half-way. Then it slowly began to loop more and more often, going in intervals of charging and then going as you see in the video. But it was still able to charge almost the whole battery apparently. If I want to turn it on, it only beeps with the blue light and turns off. If I connect it to the charger it goes into a loop. It is a 2012 Solo and it has seen plenty of use.

EDIT: I've been trying to reset with no success.

Old enough to run PA, too bad you don't have one......

I'm still thinking battery (one of the two cells...). Normally they degrade slowly, but sometimes go truly South with no warning. Too bad you don't have another (known good) pack or a PA. Probably time to think about checking the deals on PIU?

Good luck with it.

Oh don't worry, I had already shot Randy a message and he gave me a good deal on the Air. ;)
Well, after fiddling around with the reset it seems now it can atleast remain on and heat up for some time but when I connect it it goes loopy and I have to reset it again(or at least fiddle with it by connecting it and disconnecting since this seems to be pretty random).

that is what mine was doing also... I ended up fixing it, if you look back a page in this thread I talk about it. But it depends which model you have

the older model has 2 wires going to the bottom of the oven, and 2 wires going to a white lump on the side of the oven that can't be removed... and I couldn't fix it..

but my newer model with the 4 wires going to the bottom of the oven was fixxed when this area was cleaned out.. Not too difficult to do, it actually just involves taking out a few screws... and cleaning some residue under the oven..

mine is no longer under warranty so I didn't mind taking it apart.. and I just had a feeling I could fix it..

I feel like that would be a job for the arizertech guys but I don't know if they'll take in an old model unless its for refurbishing purposes. For now, it seems to be working back to normal. I just vaped one bowl and it's charging. Maybe it was feeling down today(?).

Greetings from the mountains, where the Solo helped to make an awesome hike become a much more than awesome hike :)

I am really enjoying the "Air" short glass tube, more discreet, easier to pack, and I don't feel irritation on throat, as far as I usually go for low temps (2-5 setting)

Cheers!

How 'high' did you get on that fabulous looking mountain
It's just a 1.000 meters high hiking :)

To tell the truth, almost a thousand, something like nine hundred eighty something meters... starting from sea level (that small town with a beach and boats you can see right below)... 2,5 hours steep and tough hike, worth the effort....

The Solo is my go for outdoor setup for now, specially with those short glass tubes, I'm loving those. But, just in case I brought the VG as a backup which I never needed to go for. Those 8+ sessions the solo with a VapePower battery are sufficient to me even on a 3 day trip

cheers

Hey folks :)

I'm new to this forum and I want to say hi. I'm Tomy, I live in Vienna, Austria and I'm working as an electrical engineer.

I started using vaporizer at the beginning of the year, I ordered a Solo because I wanted to quit smoking cigarets and because I was ill and the smoke irritated my throat.
Three years ago I already recommended the Pax to my brother, but he/we barly used it because we alyways thought that vaping won't get you as much baked as combustion does.
So I got my first Arizer Solo and I have to say it was one of the best purchases in my weed-career :D
My bud consumption got lower, I save money from papes and filters and I also feel better and healthier from vaping.

Two month later I got another 'refurbished' Solo from a webshop in exchange cause they wern't able to deliver an adapter. Well it was defective, it turned off while heating so I got my electronic tools out and startet to open the Solo. I re-solderd all electrical junctions and I reassembled the heating chamber of the Solo (it was quite loose). And all that work solved the problem

So now I own two Arizer Solos, a few Glass stems and I got a pinnicle water tool as well. In the next days there should arrive a PVHES Gong 14mm turbo, the Vortex Stem and finally the solo power adapter.

I'm all happy with my Solos and I hope this two masterpieces will be with me for a long time.

Greets to all of you and happy vaping,
Tomy

@Tomy14 Welcome to FC. You will find a lot of helpful people around here. You've made a good decision buying the Solo. It will give you many years of service. It's a very well made unit that's easy to use. The vapor flavor is really good too. Enjoy your new vaporizing tool.

If I wanted to get a Pinnacle water tool, where would I find the best price?

Best price on the official PNWT changes all the time with sales and so on, PIU and PV are good places to try, PIU will probably price match.

Often F-Bomb is cheaper by a bit, IMO basically the same thing.

If you can wait a couple weeks you can get them from China (like DH Gate, where many of us get bubblers of many kinds) for 'under twenty bucks' shipped typically. Like:

Poke around some, good deals out there. Timing is important.

Good luck.

I see some on ebay for $36.99.... That seems too good to be true though IMO. VaporNation has them right now (with their 420 20% off sale) for $55.99. They're an FC sponsor and can be trusted, so IMO that's probably the way to go.

EDIT: @OF beat me to the punch. ;) And nice DHGate find, I didn't even think of looking there!

Aren't you guys worried about the lack of quality control from random Chinese sellers? I'm anxious that they're using leaded glass or something...

gold all in my chains...dont believe me just watch
is anyone going to that "stoner's eve smokefest420.com" thing in detroit tonight? pm me if so...tix are $16.82 at the moment & I don't know what to expect.

yes happened to me once & I did the reset that someone posted here before & it fixed it. I feel like my battery power is weaker (longer to heat up, possibly shuts off before 12 min, etc). but it's old & does what I need it to (my stem loads are much smaller due to domed eBay screens). not sure if the battery performance is linked to that incident or due to natural aging. it also might be because I don't follow the "fc recommended charging technique"...just plug in & plug out when convenient.

Hey folks :)

Greets to all of you and happy vaping,
