The Herbalizer

@BRAND1SH - Most people here talk about liking the 7th floor tubing. I've tried even bigger and it can be impressive! In the end I came back to the Herbie whip for a number of reasons. The biggest being how easy it is to change out the mouthpiece for a gong adapter on the end of it.

@nigel are you for real? How hot will it go after killing the limit?

I alternate between the two. Have trouble determining what I like better. I just picked up a 18mm elbow whip adapter from a glass blowing company in Oregon, need to try it later today!

I think Nigel is yanking our chains. I don't know what the B or A would be standing for.

That would be a really neat way of coding in an Easter egg though.

Up, Up, down, down, left, right, left, right, b, a, b, a, select, start. I believe. Hehe. Or no select for single player.

Shhhhhhh! Don't tell @Stu as I be trollin' with the Konami code.

No Konami Easter egg. ;) But there are other eggs, just not this one.

And apparently @Vicki too....

It's an obsession but it's pleasin'
Ok so I have been trying to mimic the setup of @lazylightning back on page 234 where I saw the parts list. The only thing I dont have is the SSV tubing because only 1/4 inch was needed and I thought I could find something to work. Picked up a couple of scrap pieces yesterday but neither fit correctly. Can anyone confirm the ID/OD of the SSV tubing to point me in the right direction?

Since I posted that Herbie GonG mod, I discovered that 5/16" ID X 7/16" OD silicone tubing works even better as a gasket between the reducer and Herbie bowl. It is much easier to get onto the Herbie bowl and also seems to keep the GonG adapter in place even better than the SSV tubing.

Had a great time with Herbie today. Haven't used him for a few days. Was nice to have a change up from my routine over the past few days.

Sad days. I had to send my Herbalizer in for repair but so far Carrie has been very responsive. I went back to using my EVO and decided that for me the Herbalizer is my favorite.

I am getting to the point where I can notice a ten degree difference at least in cloud production and can notice a difference in effect after about a 20 degree change when using the exact same herb and with the same moistness. I tend to Vape between 345 (only for my dryest herb) and 425 (night time). If I Vape one herb at 365 and 375 I can't tell much difference in effect but between 365 and 385 I can start to tell a difference.

I miss my herbie lol

I save trees
I filled a bag completely with a fresh load at 444° https://instagram.com/p/1nsmxzOw1g/
Plugged it with a doob tube cap and 15 minutes later the bag was still completely filled however it was no longer white and the draws produced barely anything at all. I'm just curious as to what happened to my vapor. Scientifically lol

Scientifically: Shit went bad!
Fair enough lol. Now I know ! Not a fan of the bags anyways

On another note, has anyone that also owns a vxl tried the stock glass mouthpiece from it with the Herbie? Biggest tastiest clouds I've blown yet...
Normally with the whip it takes a couple draws to really get the vapor going, with the vxl piece you get a GREAT HIT the very first draw.

Can someone please tell me the Easter egg... From the hints before, I'm guessing you have to set it to 420... Then what

If you get the response via pm please forward it to me. I believe someone gave strong hints earlier in the thread but I'm not sure if I did it right as I was unsure what to expect.

I broke my Herbie with Aromatherapy mode ironically enough. Actually I was waiting to see how my customer support experience went first before I posted about my issue but I guess it is ok to state what it was especially since other people could be affected by this and there is no warning about it in the manual. I was using various essential oils with the stainless steel pad for aromatherapy mode. I did this for two months but the last couple of sessions I used the Orange essential oil and after that I noticed my plastic vents had somewhat disintegrated. I think the orange essential oil reacted with the plastic it was sitting on and started to dissolve it. With the other oils I noticed that over time they would drip down into the Herbie which was not that big of a deal to me because my herbalizer always smelled good.

Carrie has been taking care of me and I feel this is something that should be covered under warranty since I had no idea this could happen. I am scared to use aromatherapy mode going forward but the lavender, tea tree, peppermint, and eucalyptus oil seemed to be ok in my unit. It could have happened from a build up over time though. Either way I highly recommend against using any Orange essential oils or other oils like that which might react with plastic.

Friends at FC.. do you remember back in September when there some *interesting* things happened at Herbalizer headquarters, and then suddenly the founder and CEO (me) was gone?

MODS: this writing belongs here, not in a different thread. This IS about the product and its warranty, and directly affects Herbalizer users who spent a lot of money on a product that should last them a long time.

It is time to share just a bit, because you need to know. In short, by the end of August last year, 8 months after launch, Herbalizer had just barely become profitable.. like by a few thousand dollars, not much, but at least profitable for three consecutive months and with steady positive growth. I felt good and that my startup would make it. And then.. we had our annual shareholder meeting Aug 23rd, and without any advance softening of the blow, the board of directors was changed. 13 days later I was fired from the company that I built, without severance (note to entrepreneurs, protect yourself first! ..I did not). So there I was, suddenly without the company that I spent over four years building and with no income, just personal debt that I used to float the company. So I sold my things and went on a road trip (with Herbie of course).

I'm the largest shareholder, owning 38%. And after the hostile takeover, knowing my somewhat desperate financial situation at the time, I was offered $50,000 for a total buyout. Hmmm.. does that sound like a fair deal for creating Herbalizer?

MODS.. hold on.. I'm getting to it..

So they stole my company and want me out for cheap which I refused, and in the mean time they discovered that they aren't doing well without me. Enter overpriced attorneys and lawsuits, fraud allegations, etc.. On Friday last week (3 days ago) I received notice that the company has assigned its assets to a third party for auction, and at the same time "1Ready, LLC" made a purchase agreement for those assets. 1Ready, LLC is owned by Marianne and Stephen Harmon (investors/director/CFO). In this way they turned Herbalizer into a shell company, to remove all value of my stock and give to themselves any remaining assets (IP, product inventory, etc.). Unscrupulous? You bet! Why? Greed. Illegal? The courts will determine. Is there two sides to this story? Of course.

Yes, this shit is made for TV. Eventually I'll write a story called Startups, Greed and the Business of Weed. In one respect, it is upsetting that all of my work was for this, but in another respect I'm loving the full journey of the entrepreneur! Sometimes you have to grab your balls and say Fuck It!

So why am I telling you all this? Well, I am sorry to say that in conjunction with turning Herbalizer into a shell company, they are dissolving the business. This means that Herbalizer is going away. Support is going away. Accessories are going away. And, the Herbalizer warranty will not be honored.

I suspect that by the end of this month your warranty will no longer be valid, if not sooner. And if you do have a warranty problem I suggest you get it serviced immediately if you can!

I felt compelled to tell, since the Herbalizer was my baby and a product I once endorsed.

Wow @Engineer I'm really sorry. It's shameful that greed destroyed a good company, and a good product. :disgust:

My Herbie was already sent in for service in December, and I think all is good. It does make me angry that if it dies, it will just turn into a very expensive brick. :(

@Engineer, it saddens me to read this. I hate to see this sort of thing happen.

Firstly, thank you for several things. Thank you for bringing us the Herbie, thank you for being with us on these forums, and thank you for letting us know that we may be affected quite suddenly.

Wherever you go, I'm a fan.

I was going to return my Herbalizer to Massdrop and purchase directly from Herbalizer, but I am now certainly going to have to re-think before I do anything.

Oh NOOOOOOOOOOOO they have my Herbalizer in for repair. Sorry to make this about myself but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.

Seriously though I am sorry to hear this is happening to you. It really upsets me to see the talent get screwed over by management. I get that entrepreneurial spirit from time to time but then with patent law, greedy business partners, and a court system that favors the wealthy I just do my best to make sure my coworkers around me generally like to be around me to hope to keep my job going forward.
