Initializing my selection today, and I think in-keeping with the slightly alternative, we're gonna explore the 'Power of the Mind' as we listen to the ever conscious lyrics of Macka B, with production from the one & only Mad Professor . . .
Slowing it down now with some cavernous dub from the Tasilli Players. These lovely peoples dedicated thier entire album to the Holy Herb with a release entitled 'The Wonderful World of Weed'. Check them out . . .
Turning once again to the original sounds with some more heavenly vocals from the amazing Carlton Livingston. This time with '100 Weight of Collie Weed' . . .
Last one for this selection - Frankie Paul - lovely tune - pass that thang brother! . . . .

OK, time to come clean. My love of reggae first surfaced during 1992 - 1996 when I was hitting the London rave scene hard, and the music of the day was 'Jungle'
Every tune I have posted here (and most of yours) has a 1990's Jungle DnB version which puts chills down my spine and gives me goosebumps. There is something very special about this music.
I do enjoy the originals loads especially now in my 'old age'
and 174bpm is a little much for my aging knees, I have a love for Dancehall and Ragga. (but that's a differnt thread right??)

DJ Wrongtom now, this time providing a backdrop for the awesome Roots Manuva on an album track taken from another of Wrongtom's heavyweight collaborative efforts . . . .
And now headin' to the dancehall . . . I'm not particularly down with Elephant Man on various levels . . . but I like this boom boom . . .

And now for some angelic vocals from the amazing Cornell Campbell - I had the pleasure of seeing the man himself at the end of 2013 in a very small club - and man he was still sounding sweeeeeeeet! I was blown away.
You're getting 3 versions here starting off with the original, followed by a toast from another of my faves the good Dr. Alimantado, and then finally we have King Tubby on the mix Enjoy.
