Problem is that a brand new cooling unit delivers the popcorn vapor as well, so it's not the cleanliness of the original brand new cooling unit that was the problem...

Couple of things, I'm guessing you've used other vapes before? to know the popcorn taste, if not it could just be that 'new vape' thing, i noticed with mine a taste for the first few bowls (4-5) but to me it was more new vape than popcorn taste, now i should say I'm not that sensitive with taste, i never do burn offs with new vapes just a clean, this is something where everyone differs.

If your looking for things to try before sending it off i would suggest as mentioned an ISO wash i use 99% and leave the cu (disassembled) for 30 mins (for me the less time plastic is in ISO the better)
Or run a few bowls through it (low quality stuff if you have it) to put a coating on it.

Forgot you said you used the mighty:doh: One thing here to consider is was that mighty brand new like your crafty? If used it could just be that the new vape taste was already gone when you tried it.

If it was me i would try one or both of these things before going through the bother of sending it off, they both should have the same effect either removing anything causing taste with ISO or coating it with oils.

Wishing you luck and hope it a simple fix:tup:

I have tried a few vapes in the past, the volcano, the verdamper, the old-skool glass bowl, and then the mighty. I have noticed a popcorn like flavor in the glass bowl vape but only at the very end of a session. I'm a cook/gastronome, so I'm quite familiar with the diacetyl like butter flavors, in this case it's quite distinctive.
As for the condition of the mighty, it was a head-shop display model, so its definitely been used. However, its very difficult to say for how many hours but I doubt anything much, especially in comparison to the coffeeshop volcanos i used.

I'll check out where I can get some Iso around here and will try that on one of the CUs, and I'll designate the other as the main unit.

Thanks a lot for your reply! :)

ps.
Just to add as information, I used a fine mesh screen or the liquid pad on top of the herb every session.
And obviously thanks to anyone else that reply ;)

I replaced the bottom screen and cleaned out the heating chamber. I then did a hard reset and my Crafty appears to be fixed! Huge vapour production, massive clouds again!!!
How do you do that hard reset?

I've never gotten a popcorn taste from the Crafty, that's what other vapes do

pressing and holding just turns it on. Held it 30 seconds; nothing more happened, it was just heating up. If I let go and press again it just turns off. So, I'm still not understanding this hard reset...

OK, I'll try this later
7.4. Reset to default settings

It is possible to reset settings (see Section 11.1. “Default settings”) which were changed using the CRAFTY App. The reset is made by pressing the ON/ OFF button for ten seconds while the CRAFTY Vaporizer is switched on.

If the ON/OFF button has been pressed for ten seconds, the signaling of the reset is made by the following running lights sequence: red/green/ blue/red/green/blue/red/green/blue. The CRAFTY Vaporizer also vibrates while the lights sequence is running.

I never tried i myself but it worked for someone on the previous page.

What screen is that in there?

I have used these for a few years(not in a vape though...yet), got mine from amazon UK, pack of 10 (5 large and 5 small) and i still have 8 left (4 large and 4 small) yes they do last that long:clap: absolute beasts.

They look gold in my pic but are silver in colour.

Edit: i still have all 10 but only 8 are nice and shiny :science:

Wow, I literally placed my order for the medium Ryot case 30 seconds before you posted this!

I think I'd actually prefer a soft-sided case, will need to think a bit on that.

Definitely appreciate the suggestion though. Will check out Walmart and see what they have to offer, and compare it to the Ryot case I have on order. Might return based on what Wallyworld has.

Thanks :)

How has it been working? Does it really help with the smell? I also ordered a Ryot Pack Ratz medium for my Mighty. Curious to see how it is working for you.

I think it does help with the smell. Whether it's smell proof or not, that's a different story. I can't smell it, but I'm sure dogs would be able to. I wish it were 1" taller, then it would be perfect for me. I'm able to get the Crafty, loading tool, and a classic Jyarz in it. However, I have to take the cooling top off the Crafty and put it at a different angle in the pouch. Thus preventing me from pre-loading a bowl if I want to carry everything.

@Roth, Those RYOT cases come in many varieties, large and small, soft and hard case. (I have a soft) and I preload all the time. Sounds like you picked the wrong size for the Crafty? Instead of Jyarz I use the Pac n Stash http://www.packnstash.com, it fits perfect.

packnstash. lol, its brilliant! this is the first time I hear about this, thanks @Vaporcussion

@Roth, how does the crafty measure up to the cloud evo in terms of efficiency?

People mean lots of different things when discussing "efficiency". If you mean it fully extracts everything, then I'd say they're comparable. I've taken my ABV from the Crafty, loaded into my EVO, and got no noticeable vapor. I'd rather hit the EVO then the Crafty (better flavor imo), but they're damn close cloud production wise (still the slight nod to the EVO).

I have the medium PackRatz (soft). Like I said, I can preload the Crafty, but if I want to also have a Jyarz and the loading tool that comes with the Crafty, I have to take the cooling unit off. I do like the look of those Pac n Stash though, might have to look into them.

In my experience the EVO gives a more thorough extraction as a result of the higher max temps achievable. Whether this is desirable or not is debatable as some would say benzene (a known carcinogen) will appear above 200c/392f, or even before...so who knows.

And for clarification, my experiment between the Crafty and EVO was using finishing the bowl in the Crafty at max temp. After I got no more vapor at max temp, I put it in the heatsoaked EVO at 3 o'clock. 3 is where I always end my bowls in the EVO. At that point, I got no more vapor. I didn't try at max temp on the EVO, but I never vape at max temp with the EVO.

thank you for the information.

since I got my crafty I've been using about 20% more flower than when I was using my volcano only, to get the same effect. By efficiency, I mean the amount of flowers spent.
