Discontinued The Persei Vaporizer for herbs and concentrates.

I posted a while back about cracking my Nibbler XL while getting a top cap out that was stuck inside. I found a local glass blower who repaired. Below are a couple of before and after pics. The whole inner tube is slightly off-center now which happened during the repair. The inner tube seems straight, though, so I think it will still seal. I just ordered a new top cap and heat shield to replace the ones I messed up, so I won't know for sure if the fix was good until those come in the mail. Fingers crossed...

Looks promising. Good to know some minor damage like that may not be the kiss of death.

I have a kiss alpha c question, I've seen that w9 will have a 510 threaded version. So will that work well with a joyetech ego one battery? (1100 MaH version). I want something a bit beefier than my evod bats (minicron, omni lite, kanger) but I'm intimidated by all the warnings on the 8, I'm tech savvy, but I'm no mech mod expert...

so i recieved my sr74x early today. ohh myy the istick30w and the sr74x is such a treat. does placing two coils inside keep the oil in place without moving upwards the mouthpiece?

@420time. I did not have any luck with 2 coils in the 74x, I know I tried it, but i can't remember why I went back to one coil. Sorry

Get the Persei. Powerful enough for anything oil related.

Ask @SamuraiSam. He has a lot of double coil knowledge. IMO the main advantage is bigger holding capacity.

with two coils beside it holding more the vapor production is horrible when around .4g inside. i already regret placing two coils with .8g shatter inside. does anyone know a mod to make the sr74x work with 1 coil and have the oil not being pulled up towards the mouthpiece? after 5-10 pulls i get a small bit of oil on the top metal cap part.

Hmmm, I feel fairly intimidated by the Persei too, don't get me wrong its beautiful and I'm sure for the adequately tech savvy its amazing, but Im not confident I can deal with all those parts. I was hoping to find something a bit more n00b friendly for my first platform beyond evod/ego style.

The point is to increase the diameters of the coil just a bit. If you squish it between 2 coins, the thickness decreases and the diameter increases. I've also personally had some luck with making the coil slightly oval shaped, but just slightly.

my coil dosent slide up, im talking about if there is a way to keep the shatter/oil towards the heater instead of having some towards the mouthpiece.

explain? coins?

on the istick 30w at 6.8v i am already getting clouds. at 7.2 it is unbelievable.

you want to squeeze the coil so that the hole through it flattens a bit. This will let it touch the rod while still allowing airflow between rod and coil.
this slight change to the shape also causes the coil to rub the sides of the tube. Working with a poker or toothpick will help with installing the coil, as it won't want to fit.

the Hercs that i did this with have worked 100%
the coils that i squished diagonally, still ride up. I think it is due to air flow restriction.

i know that underpowering the Herc will cause that. If the rod doesn't heat fast enough, the whole load liquifies.
When the rod heats faster, it boils off the oil touching it as more is replacing it.

The Persei is very friendly, it only has 3 parts... Top, Tube, Bottom cap. It is as easy as a flashlight. It has a full set of safety features (short protection, low batter protection etc). The 8 is more complex as it is fully rebuildable. Persei is as simple as the Omicron.

Will the alpha centauri pair with the okeanos at all?

i've been having horrible luck with my okeanos lately :| pretty much given up on it til the triton comes out or something

The 8 is stupid simple, honestly. It's got a fuse that resets itself, so just get a good charger and some legit AW batteries, and you're set. I am really digging mine.

Somewhere a number of pages back, I believe there is a quote from @SamuraiSam or @THC SCIENTIFIC saying that it will pair nicely with the Okeanos, but it's a fairly old post if I recall correctly-- I can't seem to find it though (maybe in Omicron thread?), so maybe I was vaping paint fumes.

@THC SCIENTIFIC any KISS Alpha Centauri details we don't already know to whet our appetite, since we can't pre-order today?

Its simple when you understand it. If you are not techwise and that fire button happens to not fire, you can be fucked facing your ignorance. I remember needing to unscrew just a bit the screw on the bottom chamber of my sr74x to make contact with the teflon adaptor. If not for reading about it on fc, I would have needed to go through cs trying to figure out what is happening. Fc saved my vaping night

That being said @OnCloud8 , I would maybe try a v4 top from the manufacturer. I havent read 1 report about missfires from them yet like there is for the v3. I tried a chineese vv battery (istick 50w) and fired my sr71 flawlessly as well.

tbh, it's the various parts and various iterations of the tops and stuff that has me a bit nervous to make the leap. I had ruled it out before, and am generally pretty happy with my Omni Lite and globe/KISS TI carts. But the Alpha C has me excited and I would really like a step up from my current platform to run it. That's why it popped in my head that maybe something like the Joyetech ego one batt might be a good middle of the road upgrade, but it was just an idea, seems like the general feeling here is a no on that.

Hmmm, I guess I'll do some reading about the Persei and the 8 tho. I know I'm tech savvy enough to understand them eventually, but it's the learning curve that's making me hesitate.

I appreciate all the input yall.
