I don't think it would be that bad in baggy pants as I wear fairly tight jeans. I do have to take the mouthpiece out because it sticks out my little pocket.

I don't ever carry a genie that isn't the Coil in my pocket. FWIW

When I had a classic one, I didn't use the mouthpiece. I controlled better the heat like this.
What about the bronze VG? Do you use the mouthpiece or not?

I honestly don't enjoy the bronze on my lips like wood.

My Walnut I go native, classic I use a shorty walnut stem or native, but if I had a pre 2011 mouthpiece I'd use that. Unfortunately VG sent me a newer one on my free spare.

Bronze I always use a mouthpiece, but I think that may be because the Bronze native is super cold on my lips, and I have a cotton filter on the mouthpiece in my Bronze.

Has anyone cracked their vapor genie? If so can I see a picture of it and how easy was it for it to be broken?

Could I use my VG coil with something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Premium-Ultra...sbs_sg_15?ie=UTF8&refRID=1X70E8EVVR9W7WK786FV?

I'm a bit vaked and really want an excuse to have one.

Not really. It's a tiny 'spirit lighter' (Naphtha) that puts out very little heat. You want a torch, this is a small match. And they smell in operation, even more that the Zippo does (lacking the shield) and since VG works by sucking in the exhaust (as opposed to say VM) you'll be tasting that.

You need a fair amount of heat, that means lots more fuel and a faster consumption. I'd pass.

They are fun to play with, but that one is overpriced IMO. Two bucks is closer. The classic version is a small squarish plastic block with the same striker and an inset 'flint'. Here you can get five for a buck less:

Thanks OF, I guess I'll be sticking to a torch!

I was browsing Amazon and spotted this. I had no idea what it was and I think I got too excited... I will still be buying one though. :D

You're welcome. Like I said, fun little guys, give 'em a go.

There's a similar version that doesn't use fluid. It' a magnesium alloy block you shave a little pile of 'dust' off with your knife blade. Then you turn it over exposing the same striker and pull a spark that lights the metal shavings which burn fiercely for several seconds and will light damp fires that laugh at matches.

Enjoy.

These little fire starters are awesome. I was surprised to find some at the gas station. :science:

Where did you get a VG coil for $5?! You really needed to say LOCALLY right away. And who gives out an 86% discount at a head shop?...that's insane...Maybe one day in the future when weed is legalized and passé we'll get prices like that...or maybe you actually got that discount yesterday. A 420 miracle.

At my local smoke shop, as soon as I saw the price I was like...fuck yea! It was the last one they had ...I was going to buy all of them for that price...:whoa:
...its also my FIRST lighter powered vape, so I'm liking the change, plus it fits in my water pipe perfectly

Best tip, IMO, is don't try to use it stand alone, put it on a WT. Seriously. Bic (or any other 'flint based' lighter is a bad choice, the dust is toxic. Go for spark ignition. IMO torches are much easier to control. Aim them down the snout, right at the heat exchanger. Having it spaced away from your nose helps the aiming part......

Enjoy your VG Coil, but IMO it's almost the hardest to use (after the Aluminum Bat).

I set my clipper down instantly as I read your reply...i have been using it dry for a couple days now and I might continue to do so because it's a much faster option than all of my other battery powered vapes, and I am having more trouble with the water pipe than dry strangely enough (cloud production and sucessful technique). Do i put the tip of the torch to the opening of the vape of do I put the end of the flame at the opening? Thanks for the tips too!

I suggest you experiment some and find what works best for you. There are actually two tips in the torch flame. There are two basic reactions happening with butane (or any other hydrocarbon) burning, combining Oxygen with the Hydrogen in the fuel to make water (the inner cone IIRC), the other the oxidizing (burning) of the remaining Carbon yielding CO2). I usually have the inner tip about even with the mouth (so the outer cone is inside the bore of the heat shield). Don't fear getting the flame close, you need to add lots of heat to the exchanger while heating the rest as little as possible. Not critical, but closer to optimum?

You might also consider Vapman, a personal favorite in this class. More bucks but very neat IMO. And you heat before you hit it each time. Easier to control by a fair bit. You can do just fine with the basic, the mica heat shield and fancy finish are mostly cosmetic. I have several VGs, but only 2 VMs (one of each type), but probably use VM twice as often?

Congrats! Using with a watertool can be great (surprising flavor too) but I also enjoy using it with a mflb whip. Plug one end into the bottom of the coil and bite the other and you basically get full mobile control while in use. It's pretty much the ultimate apocalypse vape imo :p

I was looking at getting a lily, have you tried one? The Vapman looks cool too...I need to do some more research for sure! The Vapman may seem a little more public use friendly (which I'm into) define try appreciate the info too, you seem to be very knowledgeable

No, sorry, don't know it.

There's a couple of fun videos on VM around. One shot in someone's backyard, complete with fun accent. The other, IMO even more fun, shows them being hand made in a tiny shop, again in Switzerland. Poke around some, worth finding IMO.

I think I might have 2 new vapes on the list instead of one, and compared to the electronic portables the prices are great!
...However I rushed home excited to hook the VG coil to the water pipe and I BURNED EVERY FUCKING BOWL, I feel as though the learning curve left me sliding dowlhill!:bang:
any tips to get the burnt taste out of glass?

Vapor comes out after the 5 seconds of heating. And continues coming after that. If you haven't seen my video I'd check it out for some comparisons.
