MiniVAP Vaporizer

Hi everybody!

Long time lurker here, first post. I've read just about everything about this beautiful product.

I haven't had a single problem since i bought it in September from VN.

I used it dry for 6 months, I love the taste of it dry and with huge lung capacity I can do gigantic clouds and make my whole living-room cloudy, I always ended up with dry throat and a vapecough in the end of the session, happily leaving me medicated for hours, but with a sore almost burnt throat (using the flexicone+). Now I like to put the 14mm glass adapter on the flexicone+ when I hit it dry, IMO it cools it down enough but now I only use it with a watertool.

Got myself the UFO 12" showerhead by Jhan in February. And now I can do bigger clouds than I can imagine, it actually surprises me every single time. I'm using it with hot water which I change whenever cold, and the flexicone with the small/big basket on a 14mm gong from vapefiend, without cap on the mv. On green I pull ridicules big and dense clouds(small basket), but I prefer blue temp with decarb-kit(big basket 0.12 fluffy load). On blue I get loads of very visible vape with superb taste throughout the whole session, I can milk the whole load on blue by doing maybe 20 gentle hits(depends on strain, I also prefer my bud dry), in the end I turn it on pink doing 2 hits, and finishing on green doing 2-3 hits, the final hits on green gives me light vapor and crispy taste. I'm sure it extracts something like 90% of the THC on blue. AVB also gets more even beige/dark color going from blue to green. I also have the china PWNT for outdoor use, inside I use the puck.

Lately I've been using the decarb-kit, but I agree it gives a bit more flavor without it.

I've been away from my mV now on vacation for 17 days and got home yesterday. On my vacation I smoked joints/pipe every day, sadly because I had to. When I got home, I did a 0.10 load in the small basket on green with the decarb-kit, almost killed my lungs, got so heavily medicated I couldn't finish the next bowl in 2 hours. Like I've been on a T-break for 17 days... Paralyzed for at least 15 min.

This is my first vape but I've tried the volcano and the solo, and they work fine, but the mV is my best investment I personally have ever made.

I've also experienced nothing but the best quality support from Hermes. When I received my accessory, my o-rings got lost because DHL used some crappy tape so it wasn't sealed. Hermes asked for a picture of the vessel so he could talk to DHL. Got my o-rings and 4 big baskets for free! I couldn't be more satisfied!

Sorry for my shitty grammar and formatting.

Oh, and for the biggest vapor production must be to: heat up the unit, use a watertool with warm water, flaxicone, no cap, small/big(doesn't matter) bowl, decarb-kit, gentle pull in the beginning then pulling hard for 10-15 sec before you clear the bong. My load is almost drained by doing this on the first hit. Second hit is much smaller. I get instant vapor in the beginning, no need for priming when I use the decarb-kit.

Only negative I have to say is that it turns off automatically, but I don't care enough to get my firmware updated. Gonna have to buy the glass core some day :-)

I find my results similar to you, Stewie. When I use the Minivap with water, I usually stick the flex nipple onto my 14mm male bubbler with the big basket full on top. The problem is that I can kill the bowl in 3 hits, especially on red. Maybe I should take smaller hits. But like Stewie, I start my draw slow and increase the speed til my lungs can't take no more. The first hit off red through water is the most delicious, tasty, and potent hit of all my vaporizers. it is worth the ten minute wait for that one hit.

I haven't ventured much on red, kills the bowl to fast :p
And yes it's definitely worth the wait, I wait maybe 5-10 minutes after the light stops blinking, I'm slow prepping so It's all good.

edit: oh and yeah, yesterday I vaped a whole nug(no grind) after reading a thread over here. Flavor was Delicious! Takes extra hits to extract it all, but it was nice. And Moroccan/Afghan hash btw passes through fine with cotton or AVB, end result is extremely dry hash, crumbles to sand when touched. I find it boring to vape solids though, I find it nicer to get high than tierd stone.

I need a working MV, sounds so good what you are writing about kief and hash! Damn, Hermes should really have pity with me.
I feel already like a stalker, perhaps it's Hermes' mail spam filter just feeling the same about my mails.
Can't understand how some of you like @killick are experiencing such a good customer service and others are waiting months? Perhaps I should contact him through another alias?
My shop has no news for me, neither. Still no black MVs, they are waiting for weeks, also.... I'll just wait 2 weeks again for the next life sign I guess, slowly loosing a part of my warranty time.

Edit: I already tried to buy a gcmv 2 weeks ago from hermes (sales@minivap.com), still no reaction. Perhaps I'm just the type of nerdy guy he don't want to do business with...

No kidding! I'm in the same boat... the few working days were a complete tease, and now we get to read about all these great units, while we wallow in the cesspit of despair... /dickens

Anyways, I know mine is there now, and just waiting for a note that it's on it's way back. Now is probably a good time to get a few spare flexi-wotzits, too...

It's an obsession but it's pleasin'

Yeah, it's kind of like torture to read about everyone enjoying their MV while we're just waiting on Hermes. I was able to finally get some attention by going to the online warranty form and filling it in again. Even though I'd already done this once and had a couple dozen emails on file regarding the warranty, for some reason Alfredo actually responded when I filled in the warranty form again.

Of course, the offer he made me was to send my MiniVAP in again and be without it for however long suits Hermes this time. I told him I've already been waiting 4 months and want him to just replace my core and battery. I think that's fair since I already sent the battery and core to Hermes and they didn't repair either of them. Hope I don't wait too many weeks for a response.

Ok, so what's the deal with only 25 uses on the flixicone? Is that really true? And what is considered a "use"?

Where the hell did you hear that ??! I've been using mine since I got it about 8 months ago. Still going as strong as the first day.
I personally dig the concept Hermes applied to the flexicone. Once the basket is snapped in they become easy to transport and use. Snap it into the cap or glass Nd start vaping.

Overheard some guys talking about it at the local liquor store.......;)

http://www.minivap.com/usa/accessories/kit-flexicone-157.html

And yeah, I agree on the concept. Snap a screen in, fill a basket, snap in basket and it becomes a nice little self-contained module ready to switch between dry and water hits.
...............................................................................................

Yes, BS on the 25 uses for the flexicone.
Mine is over a year old and still on the original flexicone. Once in a loooong while, soak it in PBW when I'm cleaning the bubbler and it's all good.

IMO the basket/flexicone module is the best thing since sliced bread!! Literally 3 seconds to switch from dry hits to the bubbler.

I'll join in on the unanimous thinking that the flexicone can be used for a lot longer than the recommended usage. I'm still using the one I started with last August. I do have several back-up's just in case though.

Hey everyone,

I finally got my Minivap through the post! Going to have a nice session with it tonight and report back. ;)

I've left the battery on charge but the battery indicator isn't turning on for whatever reason, so I don't know if I've got a faulty battery or why its doing it. Anyone got any experience with this?

As in when I place the battery on the cradle the light on the back of the battery isn't turning on to show whether charging is taking place or not. Or is it not supposed to do that and only turns on when it is connected to a Minivap?

Yes.

The charging indicator light is on the charger brick itself. The light on the battery, when it's connected to the vape itself and when it's turned on is a battery level indicator, not a charging indicator.

....................................................................

For charging, the light you want to monitor is on the "brick" which is the black control box in the middle of the charging wire.
When connected to the mV, the brick light will be either red (battery charge is low and it is now charging) or green (battery not low or charging is complete).

Note that all electrical connections are kind of finicky--you need to push firmly. Also, same with battery position in charging dock.... when you place the battery in the charging dock you sometimes have to wiggle it to get the red light to come on (you know battery is low but when placed the light remains on green)--- wiggle it, just a little bit....

Considering that they are primarily a medical device company, I highly doubt it.
Are there other websites that sell it? I would love to get Mv but at that price point there are plenty of other options which will provide a much better experience. Especially if such a high end device is producing really dry vapor

Gotcha, thanks for clearing that up. Battery is all charged and ready to go, I'll report back in a couple of hours.

Where do you live? In the UK, Vapefiend sells them in all three colours. For the US Vapornation is out of stock at the moment, I'd contact them to see when they're restocking.

Such as....??

Especially if such a high end device is producing really dry vapor

Unless vapor is filtered through water, I don't know of any vaporizer that provides vapor that is any more moist or any more dry than any other vaporizer.

The evo for sure, I know what dry vapor is like (volcano) and even using my nano I get much less dry/harsh vapor. The evo was great because the vapor was super smooth. Also the mighty and crafty are great alternatives

Yeah, but the EVO typically goes through water, eh.

I know that some vaporizers are more harsh than others but does that really have to do with how dry or moist it is? It may, when one considers excessive condensation like what could take place with the 'Cano. I agree that the Mighty and Crafty are good alternatives to the MV, but are they more............moist?
