I go where the thrills are
Does anyone know what degrees the 4 temperatures are?
I don't think I saw it on this thread and have been searching everywhere.
It's not even on the PAX website and their online chat doesn't work.
I am curious as to if they added a higher or lower temperature.

Also in this video at 4:11 in he says the PAX2 plays music. What is the purpose of this feature and has anyone heard about this anywhere else? Does that mean you can make an audible chirp or beep when its up to temp?
Thanks in advance!

According to Pak's post, here, the F temp range is likey 370 to 410 (not sure if that's been confirmed, yet...) This makes sense to me, as it extracts about as well as the FF (ie. not completely, about 90%), and the FF tops out (reportedly) at 400.

http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/pax-2.17617/page-3#post-754508

There are "easter egg" suprises in the Pax 2, including several flashing LED modes, a Simon game, and the song Funkytown (I posted a link a couple pages back to a blog that explains the behavior of all of them). Only some have the song (mine has Simon, no Funkytown). A post a few pages ago mentions this is achieved by vibrating the oven to play the notes. (I know, sounds bizarre, right? Maybe I misread that. :p) Anyway apparently you have to be very close to the Pax to hear the song. Again, haven't heard it myself.

When I made that post, the temperature range hadn't been confirmed, and it turns out I was mistaken. The actual range is 182°C (360°F) to 215°C (420°F). I assume the intermediate temperatures are evenly spaced.

According to @Ojan_at_PAX the temperatures are slightly different from Pax 1. There are four settings on Pax 2 : 360F, 380F, 400F and 420F.. The original Pax only went as high as 410F...

Hola to my fellow vape friends,

I have been using the Pax 2 now for roughly a week. I have used a Pax 1 for about a year prior. One Major thing I noticed about the Pax 2 was the SMELL! I notice that the unit has more odor than the Pax 1. I don't know what to do about it. I am unable to use it in the settings I used my Pax 1 in. I have been in social setting where people have commented on the smell. By the way I don't live in a legal state so steal is of utmost priority.

I refuse to keep the unit in a bag or whatever. I am going to look for a less "smelly" unit. I understand that all units will have some odor to them. However, the Pax 2 appears to have more than normal/acceptable levels. It, like all other units, has some smell during warm-up/use. I am not talking about that. I am referring to after the unit has cooled and is back to normal temp. I find this unacceptable. I am considering picking up the Mighty or Crafty. I am thinking the Mighty. I understand it is not as stealthy but I don't have to worry about firmware issues or battery life.

Let me know if you are experiencing any similar issues. One additional issue, any of you notice resin coming up through the air tube under the mouthpiece? I alway have it on the top of my unit when I remove the mouthpiece.

If I didn't own a solo I would've gotten the Crafty or Mighty, I needed something to take out with me and to use it at places like concerts, or out and about. I would tell you to get the Crafty if you don't care too much about the stealth aspect of the device like the PAX, plus i've read that a lot of people who own both like their Crafty more.

Yes the smell aspect sucks, I wanted the PAX to be stealthy and on the first day I used it in in my room, my family was over and I was told it REEKED of weed. I also own a Solo and I've had it for three years, gone through two batteries, and I never got caught up like with the PAX it definitely smells a lot!

I'm very happy with the Pax 2 as well but I still use my Solo. I like the flavor I get with glass and better airflow with the solo. The pax 2 is so discreet, it heats evenly and packs a punch, I like the feel of it, heats quickly

They're fun to use together!

I agree..my solo will always be part of my portable line up. Surprisingly, I find the taste better on the Pax 2 and less harsh at the higher temps, but the Solo with PVHES stems has less resistance than the Pax 2. They both have desirable attributes!,

My pax 2 is still sitting on the dresser never to be used again. I have only used it twice ( once was good enough) enough to know i wasn't feeling nothing from this thing; even with high end meds! I found myself reaching for my Rig to get where i wanted to go; feeling good now after a dab or two - but also feeling so disappointed and stupid for dropping $280 on this thing. Now I'm stuck with an expensive vape i have NO use for! :/

I didn't find much of an oder. But i don't think it's worth $280 after using it; I have a very high tolerance, and this thing did not get me medicated at all; not even with high end meds. Pure crap!

hey guys im leaning towards getting a pax2 and my first portable vape.

is this a good unit for efficiency? I don't want it to burn when im not using it. Does it shut off? Nobody from manufacturer can tell me this. thanks.

also what is the cheapest option to purchase this? I find a lot of times there are reps in forums selling things cheaper like the lift kit I just bought for my truck. thanks.
If I were you I would look for something else cheaper! As far as efficiency? Not good! You will be using alot of your meds for this vape. Not unless you know how to do the screen trick; even then if you have a very " high tolerance" for meds this vape will do NOTHING for you! You can pack it with your meds, hit a couple of times and set it down and it will shut its self off or temporarily powered down until you pick it up again. You may have a different experience with it, but for me it's a just a mediocre vaporizer that's definitely not worth $280 that's for sure!!

Since I fucked combustion my mom is smelling the weed each time I'm visiting her... Before I started vaping she knew I smoked something, but she couldn't make the difference if it was MJ or tobacco. Last time I used the Minivap 15 minutes before entering her door, she was asking me the same second in a severe tone to never pass by police smelling like a pound of weed. The queen was really not amused.

Last week I "lost" the cold and unloaded mighty in my car trunk. The second I opened the trunk when searching for my best buddy some hours later, I knew he has to be in there, very strong smell.

When I'm out with my wife (not vaping these times) she can slightly smell the crafty when in my pocket.

One of my kollegues at work even smelled the MFLB.
I never had a comment on the solo, but I know at least the stems are quite smelly.
Perhaps omicron or persei with Oil-cartridge could be little less smelly but I never had one in my hands.

So, @fatbiker, in the end, if I where you I would keep the pax buy a dime bag and buy a mighty, but really not because of stealth or smell!

Edit: @Pnutt would you mind to elaborate please which flower vapes you are using if your tolerance is so high? I'm currently in love with the mighty, but I would cheat him....

Hello fatbiker just received my pax 2 today so far haven't noticed smell with my unit. Does the smell come from the oven area? The resin under mouthpiece is normal and really doesn't take much more than a iso wipe to remove it. You should see the resin that builds up in the crafty cooling unit.

Not sure on smell since you said you didn't have that issue with pax1.

Pnutt since your tolerance is so high not sure what herb vaporizer would work well. Maybe take a break from the dabs for a week or 2 and then try the pax2 again? I don't think it the device, in less your is defective since it seems to work so well for others. Another thought is mix a little of what you dabing in the pax with some herb, mix work better for you.

I have had mine a day now and so still feeling it out getting the grind right etc. Early thoughts are I like it better than the pax1. Taste much better for much longer. Can it get me as quickly medicated as the crafty well that be a no.

What it can do for me is to keep me medicated well away from home. I needed something in my collection for dog walking hiking things where I am more on the go. That's where I feel the pax2 is going shine. The taste last a long time no real fiddling with it to use it. Small easy pocketed and great battery life.

You can express your opinion but you must show respect. Calling any device "pure crap", especially one that most people feel is a good design, is over the line. The Pax 2 obviously satisfies a lot of people and any more name-calling like this will get you in trouble.

I ordered the bonus package and will let y'all know how it is.

Yes, it is very pocketable and durable. But personally I hate carrying things in my pockets. When I travel with the Pax it's usually music-related and I have a backpack. I like to keep the Pax in the backpack until use, and I like that it's protected while I'm carrying it around.

Cheers to you @Stringer for fucking combustion! You go, you combustion fucker!!
I'm a fan of vatra cases (the Domino works great for my pax 1 and I'm planning to use it for my pax 2). It may be more than you need if you just want a protective sleeve. But I like extra room for a small space case and tools. I think it's www.vatra.com

Well got to say I am liking this vaporizer. Filed down a couple of the pax 1 screens. It was easier than I thought it be. Just used the pax2 screen to figure out what needed to be cut off. Ended up being just one end need to be cut off then that end filed down to get the rounded edge on the one side. The width is the same so really it's just one snip off of the end and quick file down to round out the one side.

With the screens in place I gave it a test run..got to say liking the effect much better with smaller loads. It does increase the draw some. Now I just use the bottom lid as kinda a carb can push down with pinky on on side of bottom of lid to allow more air. Overall much more happy with the effects. Just too medicated to do anymore testing :)

I notice the issue from both the top and bottom of the unit. Primarily the top. I can empty the chamber out and leave it sit and I notice that odor coming from the mouthpiece. I also clean the mouthpiece and it still has a bit off an odor to it along with the top chamber of the unit. The rubber seems to absorb and hold more of the odor than the plastic mouthpiece of the Pax 1.

I know what you mean dude. There are times the Pax 2 does seem smoother. You know what I find weird with the new pax ? There are times when I feel I got a great hit and barely anything comes out. Then other times I barely feel a hit and I blow a cloud!! Lol Why is that? Im still a novice compared to most here. Ive only been vaping for about 3 years and I've never used water attachments or anything else to enhance the experience. Since I have a teenage son...discretion is key! The solo doesnt leave as much scent behind but the Pax I just shove in my bra if I have to :). Both are great but i am using the pax 2 more.

I almost positive im going to order a pax 2 today. I just created a pax account. trying to decide between titanium and black charcoal (bronze?). Im also left wondering how long I need to FC to feel anything from this unit. tolerance is pretty high. airways pretty blackened.

Not here. This is off-topic for this thread.

I feel you @pakalolo. Since the mods merged pnutts last objective back-to-back-post with the not so nicely ones posted just before I sadly had to unlike it.

Sry for derailing your thread, too. Since I'm normally posting, discussing and derailing on other threads not being moderated by staff members I'm used to post off-topic sometimes. I tried to send pnutt a PM but he blocked private conversations so I asked in the thread directly. Apologizing again and don't feel offended if someone can't appreciate your hard work.

I'm waiting for the pax 2 being released in Europe and I would love to compare it to my other units myself. I'll let you know what I think about it the day I got one. I think will like it anyway, otherwise I wouldn't wait impatiently for it to come oversea since the pax 1! :D

Hey. I am very new to vaping. My P2 replaced a recently purchased atmos boss, which was my first vaporizer. IT didn't work from day one and after thinking it was defective I got the P2.

Now, I am having the same issues. I can't seem to feel any effects from the vape.

I wanna love the P2, but what is this newbie doing wrong?

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Do you feel like you are pulling vapor from the P2 and just not getting effects? Or are you having trouble getting vapor?

It's also critical that, if you are used to combusting, you stop combusting period....and give vaping a couple weeks. The high can be subtle, but it can also be elusive at first until your body weans itself from the smoking high and adapts to the vaping process.

I think it's a combination of both.

I get some Vape, not a lot, but don't feel anything.

I'm new to herb completely. I didn't want to combust so vaping is my first experience.

Aha. That may be part of the problem. Any number of variables could be the culprit including your being new to it. The Ask FC forum or the Vaporization Discussion forum would be a better place to tease this out. But in the meantime I will shoot you a PM and see if I can help you directly.

@pfm67 for me the thicker clouds are from a completely full and firmly packed loadd (medium grind) on heat setting 4 (highest) - flared/raised mouthpiece for less resistance, slow and steady deep draw really does the job done (packing using the ends of the oven lid as the packer)
