I preordered a pax 2 and somehow received another pax 1 two days later. Oh well I gave my old one to my gf. So I preordered another pax 2. Unfortunately for me I travel for work and I wasn't going to be home to receive it. While in NYC I went into a smoke shop just to see what they had and lo and behold they had pax 2's. Because of my need for instant gratification I bought one. I also convinced 3 other friends to get one too so they didn't have to borrow my pax all the time.

The pax 2 is better in every way than the pax 1 and that is saying a lot as the pax 1 is my favorite portable. Better battery, like the new mouthpiece design, more temp settings, bigger bowl, smaller, and so far I am loving the new charger. It is the perfect portable for how much I travel. Can't recommend it enough.

I received my platinum Pax 2 a couple days ago and I've had the opportunity to blast through four sessions. Here are my findings thus far as a user who has never owned the original Pax:

The Pax 2 was actually more stealthy than I anticipated and the Platinum finish is quite striking. My first session had some bumps primarily due to my own stupidity. I actually thought you could vape from the temperature mode like the Solo where you just change temperature level and pull. I set temp to the highest level and didn't get any vapor, so I pulled harder, still nothing! Anyway I finally figured out you had to exit the temperature mode for the device to function. I set the Temp to Level 3 and my session began.

Flavor: I was quite satisfied with the flavor and IMO it's better than the Solo from start to finish. I never got that heavy burnt popcorn taste you get from the Solo toward the end of a session... Even at the highest temp setting.

Vapor Quality: I was actually pleasantly surprised with the smoothness of the vapor. I blew nice tasty clouds on level three and then went up to level 4 and the clouds were huge and the flavor degradation was minimal... Great vapor quality and better than the Solo in my opinion. I repeat...very smoth vapor even at temp 4!

Extraction: i did not find the need to stir and the ABV came out fairly even with 60% dark brown and the rest more of a medium brown. What really impressed me was the ability to get full extraction with a moderate .15g load in about 8 draws. In contrast, to get full extraction with the Solo I need to huff and puff for about 15 minutes and maybe 20 draws. The Pax 2 better meets my need for speed criteria for a portable!

Loading and Unloading: Loading herb was simple. The size of the oven is great and can accommodate a smallish .08g load up to a full load of about .33g. Very versatile for diverse users... As far as unloading the ABV, I reccommend having a toothpick or dabbing tool available to agitate the material prior to dumping. The material tends to stick in the oven and tapping the device is usually not enough to empty the load.

Charging and Battery Life: as others have stated the charging cradle is easy to attach, charging time is not long and battery life is exceptional for a portable of this size.

Cleaning: haven't had the need to do it yet, but It seems to be very easy so I don't anticipate any negatives in that regard.

The flat mouthpiece works so well I havnt even tried the other one. From past posts it seems most prefer the flat mouthpiece as compared to the other one..

Party mode, flashing lights, simon and Funky town: I don't know and I don't care. I suppose nice features that some people will enjoy, but at the bottom of my list on the importance factor of features of a portable YMMV..

So far I'm very impressed with this little powerhouse of a vape. My Solo(although a great vape) will most likely not get used much.. It's bulkier, less stealthy, breakable expensive glass stems and vapor quality and speed of extraction are not as good as the Pax 2..

I'm loving the Pax 2 so far. Great job Pax people!!
I'm very happy with the Pax 2 as well but I still use my Solo. I like the flavor I get with glass and better airflow with the solo. The pax 2 is so discreet, it heats evenly and packs a punch, I like the feel of it, heats quickly

They're fun to use together!

Thanks to all for help. I have researched all top vapes ad nauseum. I'm pretty sure the pax 2 is for me. I need to FC asap. I'll probably order one direct from manufacturer.

What do you think about this?

also, what are the best spare batteries to use for this unit? Thanks a lot
Why buy a case? It's already pocketable and very durable.

I don't know what you mean by spare batteries. The pax 2 does not have replaceable batteries. The battery lasts long and charges so fast, I don't see the need to be able to replace it

I ordered the bonus package and will let y'all know how it is.

Yes, it is very pocketable and durable. But personally I hate carrying things in my pockets. When I travel with the Pax it's usually music-related and I have a backpack. I like to keep the Pax in the backpack until use, and I like that it's protected while I'm carrying it around.

Cheers to you @Stringer for fucking combustion! You go, you combustion fucker!!

Showersmoker is 100% correct. These units do not require a replacement battery Nor should you ever have to worry about it. In the event the battery does fail or starts to have performance issues, the PAX team has got your back. The 10 year warranty has you covered and PAX has outstanding customer service and support.

Buying mine Monday, will try the abv in my mighty and let you all know if I get a super cloud. This will be my secondary for social and stealth uses. Looks great pax ppl.

Great warranty and thank you for being here.

Good call on going for the P2 as a secondary vape for ninja mode while on the go..... you might be shocked to find how quickly it moves it's way to your #1 go to vape.

Obviously different units for different occasion, but the PAX 2 is always within arms reach, therefore reached for first...

I am convinced the pax 2 is what I need to FC. Thanks all!!

Last question before I order direct from pax. I am assuming the platinum color will show the least wear from scratches etc. Is this correct? Otherwise I will get charcoal. Thanks!

Picked up my P2 a week ago and just giving its first recharge. I have a P1 and am totally blown away by the improvements. Compact size, better clouds, better flavor - love it!

Since no manual came with it some questions if anyone can help:
- charger, can we use an Apple wall plug?
- Does the larger iPad wall charger have too much juice?
- can it really be charged through a car charger? Past attempts at charging with cigarette charger don't seem to charge it completely and I wonder if it will hurt the battery.
- cleaning kit - anyone know how strong ISO is in there? Will probably replace it with 99%.
- oven lid, seems Ploom explicitly directs not to submerge in ISO. (sorry, more of a comment)

Thanks ahead!

The color finish seems quite durable. My topaz P2 is only a week old but has been tossed around quite a bit already and so far, no scratches. But obviously it's early days yet....

Just a heads up from previous discussions..... the charcoal color is a bit deceiving when viewed online. The charcoal looks more like a Gun Metal Bronze vs Charcoal Black.

If you do go with the Silver one, let me know what you think of the color. I am interested to know if it is a lighter or darker colored silver/platinum.

You can use the Apple wall plug or the iPad wall charger. (Not the same?)

It can be charged with a car charger and that shouldn't hurt the battery. If it didn't charge completely, perhaps you didn't leave it charging long enough. Did it show a full charge?

Where did you see the advice not to submerge the oven lid in ISO? Since the Pax 2 oven lid is a solid piece of PPS, I can't see why it couldn't be submerged. I think perhaps you've gotten advice about the oven lid for the original Pax, which has some insulating material underneath the metal part that (presumably) could be damaged by ISO.

It's mentioned specifically in the Pax 2 Cleaning Guide, step 3.

There really isn't any need to submerge it. I thought about doing it but it only takes about 20 seconds to clean the whole thing with ISO and a q tip

Exactly..I do the same thing. No need to submerge in ISO. I like to swab the oven lid after about 10 sessions to remove the accumulated resins before it gets to gunked up...

Taking a break from the Sex and the City penny slots (I'm up 20 cents!) to jump in. There's insulation inside the PAX 2 oven lid as well as the OG PAX, so soaking isn't recommended. But, as most of you are saying and I totally agree, soaking isn't necessary.

So it's been charging for about 3.5 hours. All the petals are lit but it hasn't turned green. The manual doesn't mention it will turn green when fully charged as the P1 does ... green means fully charged or just when all 4 petals are lit?

When all four are lit. Mine doesn't turn green like the P1 did when fully charged.

I received a PAX 2 yesterday and was testing it out all day. I only own one other vaporizers (The Crafty) and only have experience with this portable vaporizer for comparison purposes.

The PAX 2 is definitely small, but a little on the heavy side. The first couple of pulls were great and the taste was on par with The Crafty. The hit itself however was nowhere near The Crafty as I felt a lot of resistance. The PAX 2 definitely creates some big clouds and for the size, its pretty impressive. The battery life is as advertised and I couldn't be more amazed by it. For portability and battery life, the PAX 2 blows The Crafty out, however for the experience that resembles a desktop vaporizer the most, The Crafty is in another league.

Does anyone know what degrees the 4 temperatures are?
I don't think I saw it on this thread and have been searching everywhere.
It's not even on the PAX website and their online chat doesn't work.
I am curious as to if they added a higher or lower temperature.

Also in this video at 4:11 in he says the PAX2 plays music. What is the purpose of this feature and has anyone heard about this anywhere else? Does that mean you can make an audible chirp or beep when its up to temp?
Thanks in advance!
