Theres no decent shops to sell regular pieces to in my area because of china glass. Its online or nothing. Social media might help but theres obviously some sales being lost. The only awareness ive seen were people thinking that the reasonably priced pieces were too much since they were aware of other wholesale options to stock their stores.
Theres that big key word if also.
Nobody is gonna want to pay alot for glass. But thats how some people make their living. The renowned glass blowers are prob the least affected. And since theres less blowers doing cheap pieces because of china there isnt too much competition in my area or experiences at least. Unless its specialty pieces. Which are expensive as hell.
The mid range items arent worth it anymore really either. I should mention tho, you cant even find a piece not made in china in my area for at least 50 miles or if you can theyre usually name brands.Im not tryna denounce dhgate either. Just saying dont think of them as your sole source of cheap glass. Jhanzpixel is a great compromise for instance even tho he buys from china, one of the best around if you want a piece that blows you away and lasts, I know since i bought one of his pieces and am about to use it rn.
People should buy American made products whenever possible imo.

Just got my FC-711 mini pillar in the mail! Looks great, tons of flavor.
Trivet, coaster, hot pad. Kitchen supplies.
I finally found my southpaw FC-187 box and have opened it up. Here's a family shot of the 187 clan.
Unfortunately, there is a crack in the mouthpiece that has probably sealed the fate of the new arrival.
I really don't care for the sloppy work on the downstem either.
Overall, I have to say that I'm disappointed with this one, but they can't all be great buys. Considering the price paid, I think I'll get over it pretty quickly.

this thread, you guys, these prices....will bloody kill me. I have never wanted so much stuff and had the unfortunate ability to be able to buy it cos it is all so damn cheap.

@ragnorak71 You will love your D022 more and more each time you use it. @ataxian is a big advocate of this piece. I really need to get a back up for mine!
I got my vortex recycler a few weeks ago from DHgate, It's a nice little peice, a bit more restrictive than I am used too. The glass also seems thin in spots but for the price I can not complain. It will be good for guests.

I just do hot tap water and dish soap (or sugar soap) until it no longer has any smell to it, then I'm good to go

Hard call on this one unless you're looking for a trophy piece. Most the more expensive US stuff that they are knocking off is better made (nicer joints, everything is straight, flame polished percs, etc), but doesn't perform 10 times better for 10 times the price IME. But if you're looking, Aqua Lab has a good selection at pretty fair prices. Their annual 420 sale is on now, too. 15% off. Be ready for serious sticker shock compared to DHGate, though! Plenty of other great places online to buy the good stuff. All, including Aqua Lab, have better prices than I've found locally up and down most of East Coast or in Denver. You could also start with a mid-range US piece like the jahnpixel UFO sidecar. Love mine! Much other stuff from him and other sellers on iOffer, too. If buying there, don't forget to make offers. You can usually get at least 10% off from most. If buying from jhan (looks like he is on vaca until May), be sure to mention FC. He is a member here.
I rinse with hot water, then do a good shaking clean with 91% ISO and rinse all of that out. I'm kind of more worried about whatever dust and other particulates make it in during production and sitting around in a Chinese warehouse and think this should clean all of that up. It also gets rid of any smell they may have.

Flotnoke, you are the man. That ufo sidecar looks perfect. I am looking for a lil more flavor then my FC 187 and this looks good. I just PMed Stickstones for recommendations for an American made bubbler that is solid and functions well for $100. This looks like the front runner.

Sucks he is on vaca right now. Am sure you could get it for $135 (maybe less?) shipped and doesn't take weeks like China stuff does. It gives a bit more flavor than my GB-187 (don't have an FC sidecar, yet). Less diffusion - more flavor. Looks like it would chug with those big slits, but mine never does. Just doesn't quite "purr" like the GB-187. More of a rumble I'd say.
