Keep in mind, his was a pre-production unit. Typically there could be a big difference between one of those and one that is pulled out of the production line especially when one considers the variability that can exist from one unit to another.

In the whole scheme of things, one pre-production unit working problem free means didilly squat.

I know, I was just having a little fun. I also know that if I were GH, I would have had him sign a premature failure NDA requiring him to contact me to resolve any issues before going public with any reports of failure.

If other vaporists are anything like us, that ten year warranty is meaningless.

Current Pax units, as well as pretty much all portable vapes, will be obsolete within two years, let alone ten.

I predict that in ten years, less than 1% of all current Pax vapes will still be in use.

@BuzzDanklin, when are you thinking your official review video will be out for the model you have been using? Also, once you get your production model will you create a new review (gh2.0) or add on to your pre-production model's initial review? Mostly, how are you going to differentiate between the two models? Also, when are you suppose to get your production gh (estimated ship date)? Thanks

You also have the option of getting a non-warrantied unit, at a lesser cost. At least with Pax1.

This post is pretty much exactly how I feel. "we could start shipping almost immediately" in january... oh really? At that point that couldnt have had close to enough heaters for even a small portion of the backers or even a decent portion of the batteries yet. Are these guys just delusional about this whole process? I would have assumed by now they would have realized that giving out unrealistic dates is a big problem.

How could they have had production heaters all the way back in December but they are still just now making adjustments and figuring out how to manufacture the thing in a feasible way? Last I checked that would have been over 4 months ago.

@BuzzDanklin, I just watched your demo video again to tide me over for a little while and it's so funny how medicated you and your friend get haha.

I had a question though. You said in the video that you would let us know how cleaning it was by doing what GH suggests (dropping the front end in iso and submerging the rest of the unit just below the air holes). Have you done that yet and I missed it or have you not done it?

Edit: Also, I just forgot what my other question was..

Edit: Oh yeah, when it auto shuts off, do you have to click it twice to turn it back on because you didn't click it off? Or is it smart enough that you only have to press it once?

I've still yet to hit a vape that can match what my Cera LL could do (I sold it because I have allergy problems with most herb in washington- unless I'm in SoCal I vape Tetra Labs Pure gold exclusively atm) after being pre-heated for ~90 seconds. The story of thermovape makes me sad- I think they would be tearing up the market if they just hadn't made ridiculous choices with regards to power delivery for their atomizers. The choice to go for custom threading and their own mechanical mods ruined them. Frankly, the Cera (the power unit, not the atomizer) was a joke- I had ridiculous amounts of problems with mine, and when I looked into why I realized it was because the design was silly. There was no good reason (I can think of) for anything below the air path to be ceramic. I understand their choice to go for a custom threading instead of 510- I bet they didn't want people burning out their hand-wound coils with too much power- but that doesn't give them a reason to force people to use sub-par power units. I don't know why they didn't just design a self-contained ceramic atomizer, then have china build them one of the many efficient, effective, proven e-cig power units with their own threading. They could have avoided a massive amount of grief and had better functionality that way...

I'm biased... I have lots of allergies and apparently some chemical sensitivity as well- so the cera's ceramic airpath and built-in filtration were godsends for me. So I can't seem to help being frustrated with thermovape, and praying someone picks up where they left off. (lol at my terminology- I swear I'm not religious) But this brings me to the grasshopper. I can't use e-cigs (Sigh) because my allergies don't get along with vaporizing Vegetable Glycerine, and they all but hate Propylene Glycol. So I want a herb vaporizer for tobacco. I've tried with my Arizer Solo, but it doesen't have the heating capacity and it's too much conduction. The Cera was almost there (filtration was especially nice), but it just couldn't deliver enough power (surprise, surprise). So I'm hoping the grasshopper will do the trick, but I'm hesitant to spend the money on a preorder because if it doesn't, it's useless to me (even if the oil head is released, I don't actually need it for my pure gold with my joke of a tolerance) unless/until I move to SoCal and can get herb that doesn't disagree with my allergies.

I want to just preorder a dark grey anodized TI grasshopper... but I'm just not sure. Perhaps I'm a bit gun-shy because I still have an E-cig Luna from thermovape that can't be serviced (At least it's fresh from a servicing), that I can't use. I guess I'll just have to wait for more reviews- because if the grasshopper could even just cut down on my cigarette consumption, it'd be worth it. I already blew 1k trying to switch to e-cigs (didn't want to believe it was pg/vg, tried all kinds of stuff), so whats another ~200 I guess...

IIRC it's RJ Reynolds. Got this from somewhere in the Cera thread. If you need more info, the most knowledgeable forum member (aside from company insiders) on all things Thermovape is @OF...

RJ Reynolds is highly unlikely to ever release anything I can actually use- they're going to be 110% proprietary, and I suspect they will release e-cig stuff with said tech.

The vuse is RJ renyolds entry into the ecig market.

The next update for the GH will be soon. They usually come out with the second monthly update around the 15th of the month @MPZ. It should be easier to make a decision after they annouce it.

Holy crap guys I wish they would just get here already. I don't even visit this thread because it reminds me of the wait. I can only imagine how long some of ya'll must have waited.

since the beginning bro. just makes me think that all the moves this team has made plus the thought, knowledge, time, money etc. to bring us the GH, well, I've had a great journey and I'm stoked! Quality takes time!

I like that positive attitude ShayWhiteGrow. Many people get frustrated for waiting so long but I rather be patient and wait for a quality product than force them to rush and deliver an inferior device that could've been much better if they took their time. Sure they want their backers to be happy but they really want to make a good impression on the rest of the world too. Just my 2 cents.

I come rushing here every time I get a post notification hoping I'll see that someone has received verification of their Grasshopper shipping. It's always so disappointing, but when it finally happens I imagine I'm going to be ecstatic.

The estimated ship date became July 2015 on the webstore.
I wonder if it is for everybody or only new preorder.

Mine is still listed as May 2015...

Nowhere I can find when I go to the website does it say anything but what it's always said for me, which is an estimated May 2015 ship date on my invoice.
