No, but all the extra pieces Steven has been asked to make have put the large matrix pillar off track. It was supposed to be done in Months ago. I still think people should tell him to release that one next instead of overloading him with like 10 others.
The one in the picture isn't the final design. There is going to be a matrix pillar produced with a bubbler style neck. Nobody knows when tho, until we get a video.
I believe this was a prototype... you can see the bubbling doesn't happen 'correctly' in the pillars. I do prefer the look of this one to the current top neck style listed on Steven's page. I'm hoping whoever it was that ordered one and thought Steven may have sent him the wrong neck gets the proper sidecar style!
That is an old prototype. The new matrix pillar will have the same kind of neck, but different insides.
Read up on the old pages of the Custom Glass Ideas Thread, and you'll get al the info you need for the matrix pillar piece.

First time post long time lurker. Anybody get their ccg egg yet? Still waiting on reviews before I pull the trigger. I had ordered the Katie2012 egg but had to request a refund like the others. So far the ccg egg looks pretty good I just wish they had a better pic of the "birdcage perc" thanks guys I just love this forum!

I am looking at either the gb-187 vs. fc-187, sidecar version. The piece will be paired with an e-nano and a herbalizer. I am looking for large hits as opposed to flavor. Can anyone compare and contrast the two along any relevant dimension in making the decision eg, quality, reliability of vendor,etc.,? I searched the thread but found very little comparison information. Thanks in advance!

Well, I don't know whether to cuss or thank you guys here in the thread. All of this discussion of the dhgate glass gave me an itch that I finally had to scratch.
I just placed an order for a FC-187 v2. This will be my first piece of glass, and the reviews of this one seemed generally positive.

I did post about the GB-187-S and posted pictures side by side somewhere in this thread (too lazy to find it lol).
I'd say it's a toss-up. The new FC-187v2 apparently has a better matrix perc than the V1 had, but I haven't seen them side by side in person to confirm how much better.
The GB-187-S has the popular GB-187 matrix perc which many people will attest works great.
I wish I could tell you which is better, but my FC-187v1 had a horrible perc which didn't fire properly. That said, the FC-187 was a nice piece, and had very thick glass (one of the thickest in my collection). The GB-187-S is thinner by about 1mm.
Personally, I prefer the GB-187-S mainly because my FC-187 had such a horrible (poorly cut) perc. That was supposedly fixed with the second batch.
Either way you can't go wrong, both vendors are pretty well known and trusted, though I personally feel Yingmin5 is a better vendor than Steven at this point

I have had the GB-187v1 the FC-187V1, FC-187v2SL, and currently using the FC-187V2SR. Damn that's a lot of letters. I liked the construction of the GB-187 a lot. There were 1 or 2 holes in the perc that didn't quite go all the way thru. Function was great. Till it hit the floor... The FC-187 V1 was nice too . Worked very well. Construction was heavier. The base was huge. I liked that one a lot. Until it hit the floor...down to the Left Hand and Right Hand Side at versions of the FC-187's. I gifted the Left Hand one to a friend. I have 2 of the RH versions. One has a cracked MP and Steven replaced it after I sent pics. The other one is in heavy rotation. I like it so much that I had a custom Dropdown made just for it by @VaPeD&CoNfUsEd .

My Kathy Egg arrived today. Function wise it hits great and fits perfectly in my hand, HUGE improvement over her first "egg". Aesthetically, it probably should have ended up in the reject pile (if they had one). Two of the 4 tubes connecting the top and bottom of the shell are at an angle like it was twisted after it was joined. Kinda makes the whole piece look "off" if you look at it closely. Not too disappointed though since my CCG Egg is in the mail and that's the one I'm really looking forward to.

Idk what it is but ccg definatly got their shit together. Maybe they were affected by the bad reviews they were getting before. I know I crossed them off my list, till the dcycler and now the vertigo.

With the right water level, it seems to function well, but it's a very fine line.
Any less and it won't perc or recycle properly, any more and I get a drink...
IMO (seriously, wtf autocorrect, it keeps turning IMO into I'mI - dafuq is "I'mI"?) the return funnel could use a bit of tweaking, but it's fun enough to use...
I could see it being draggy with more water in it, but ime it's pretty smooth.
Nothing like the grenade perc tube drag wise.
In case anyone was curious, it's got an 8 slit showerhead, with 6 pillars.

Def think I will be grabbing one of these, got the dcycler for a friend and kinda jealous because it's a crazy nice piece excellenct for dabs or the cloud.
I want one of these eggs to hit my SSV thru. I love hitting my vapes thru recyclers. Non recycler water tools are boring now...
All my Kathy quarts banger buckets are working great.
I want to get a 14 f whip adapter for my mini Klein but it's always too gross from dabs

Mine is always draggy, too much for me and my asthma. I have the water level similar to what you can see in the water test video, even a bit lower and I still can get water in my mouth if I don't take care.
If you are using a nail,
1 Heat it.
2 Begin bubbling.
3 Dab.
4 Continue bubbling until desired cloud is achieved or dab is gone.
5 Enjoy.
6 repeat steps 1-5 as needed.

Thanks diehard. I'm such a newb with glass and learning one step at a time. I won't buy legit glass until I know the intricacies of glass. That's why I love cheap China glass. I can try ones I like and don't, and invest in the real artist.
I believe there is one point glassblowers completely forget. Awareness. I know China is stealing your designs but have you had this much demand since China started replicating? i completely disregarded any glass piece over $200, but now that I see what the hype is about, I might purchase a legit piece (more likely) that may cost $500-$1000. I think it brought awareness to the difficulty of blowing glass, almost free advertising. If I have a good financial year in 2015, I might buy a legit mothership. Never would have thought of that if it wasn't for dhgate.
I'm waiting on my ccg egg and fc711. Eager to see the reviews on the FC ufo v2.
How do you guys store your glass? im scared a lil tremor in Cali will knock my rigs off my shelf. I have them on those silicone heat mats.
